CAMPLUX 12V Water Pump Kit, 1.6 GPM 65 PSI High Pressure Pump for Caravan RV Boat Gas Hot Water System

I had a similar pump for my camplux shower. I made my setup with brass quick disconnects and such. I went to test everything before hunting season and wouldn't you know it, the pump ran for maybe 3 seconds before seizing. I ordered this VERY last minute. I wasn't keen on going back to the plastic fittings, but what could I do? I have a Camp Lux shower head and it was less than impressive, Well, I guess it was the pump I was using because the Pressure is amazing. This thing pumps up to pressure and then shuts off. Then, when you open the shower head valve, You're absolutely blasted with VERY acceptable water pressure, better than most hotels by a large margin. The battery clamp lead is a bit too short for my liking, however, the folks at camplux saw with to give a LONG 12v adapter, which, is what I ended up using after the 1st shower. I have only 2 problems with this setup. The first, the plastic fittings, I don't trust them to last too long. Don't get me wrong, they held up in the cold weather, but there was a constant worry that they may break if one forgot to drain them or pulled on them ever so slightly. The Second, The hoses get quite stiff when the temperature is low, which, may cause the fittings to have more stress on them when the hoses are manipulated. Other than that, I recommend.

I bought a portable shower not thinking about the fact that you are supposed to have a water supply pump. Hooked it up, plumbed it in, turned it on and bam! Hot shower. Life saver when camping!

Works great in off grid application to limit water usage in regards to flow rate allowing time for tankless water heater to sufficiently heat cold water to desired temps. Very loud: pump is mounted in crawl space, but can be heard while showering at other end of cabin. Eventually it will leak which is very bad when rain catchment is only source of water. Don’t trust it to stay shutoff from back pressure. It merely cuts off and back on repeatedly. Had to wire manual shutoff switch to overcome issue. Without the manual switch it would cut until pump shorted out, popped fuse or drained solar charged battery. Wiring harness shorts out at pump; typically after you have soaped up and need to rinse off. So naked repairs may be your future if using this pump. Overall, it is good while it lasts, but when it fails I will be replacing it with a quieter more reliable pump with a similar flow rate.

Picked this up to use with my Camplux water heater. It worked great. The connections are very easy to use and the pump is kind of quite. With the water heater it cuts off when not in use and picks right back up when water is moving. Has a 12v plug which works great with any power station.

I thought this was going to be an easy quick fix. The pump was easy to install and was working great. BUT THEN 36 HOURS LATER... The pressure switch stopped working (which means it has to be manually turned off), and the water pressure dropped considerably (sorry, I didn't rate test it). Also, It is very loud and vibrates more than my 2 stroke diesel V8 engine. If you're looking for a pump that doesn't state in its specs that 30 minutes of continuous use can burn out the pressure switch...KEEP LOOKING...this is not the pump for you.

Well worth the investment when getting a propane water heater from camplux! The quick connect/disconnect hoses make set up and tear down a snap! The camplux system was easy to understand, setup and use! Well worth the money to have the shower head, hoses, connectors, pump, wiring, switch, and everything else required to use my camplux water heater come all together in the correct type and size. Made the entire process a breeze! Now I can get a hot shower aboard our boat with little hassle. And when the freezing temp comes it is a snap to disconnect the hoses so nothing will get damaged or freeze as it’s simple to drain the water heater by removing the hoses. I recommend this kit to everyone using the camplux portable propane heated water heater/shower. The pump is plenty powerful enough to give a good high pressure flow of shower water! The switch snd wires with duze came ready to hook up to my 12volt dc system. It was easy and I did not have to run around from store to store trying to figure out what size this and that I needed as it all came together in a box. If you want ease of setup and take apart, the correct pump pressure, quick connect connectors I recommend this camplux kit as it is designed for the water heater specifically. Cheers!
