Mount Genie PoE Power Over Ethernet Splitter Adapter 15W Output

We used this to setup an Alexa Show 5 using their companion wall mounting bracket. Reminder since some of the new Alexa have a smaller barrel power connection, the adapter they provide is needed so the overall depth when connected projects an extra inch or two into the opposing wall. So if its a 2x4 wall you will need to use the extension cable they provide in the package to get it to fit. For a 2x6 framed wall, it will fit without their extension cable. In any case, would suggest when you hook this up tape the adapters together so there is no chance they will fall down inside the wall.

I bought Mount Genie PoE Power Over Ethernet Splitter Adapter 15W Output for Voice Assistants. It came in very fast. When i opened it up there was the builtin mounts which is include, so i thought great this will work. NOPE! dose not even fit!. i was going to but 6 of them, but something told me not to. Why can't they just explain in normal english. THIS WIlL WORK WITH >>>>>>so you don't have to guess. Now i have to get something that will work with my Nest Mini So after speaking with Charlie ( btw is very cool) I found out the adapter that fits the google nest mini Gen 2 is in the Mount Genie Built-in Wall Mount. Charlie email me with pictures showing me. Then even called me! I have to say the customer support is amazing. He even told me don’t worry we’ll get this figured out. That’s all I wanted to hear. Now I’m waiting for the Mount Genie Wall Mount to come in. Thank again for the help

Really wanted this to work. Actually really NEEDED this to work, but the plug that goes into the back of the Nest hub is just a little too large. I tried to push it in a little too firmly and started to hear some cracking noises. When I compared the one that came with the Nest Hub, I could see that the diameter was just a hair smaller. Maybe I could find a different adapter or simply solder on a new end that fits. I'm sure the voltage and amperage are ok, but it doesn't fit out of the box.

Connection of adapter is very finicky if twisted wrong way power cuts out.

Bought 7 of these PoE adapters to power my in-wall Echo Shows. By year 2, all except 1 have failed. The adapters also run extremely hot. Probably led to the failures. Would not recommend.

Great little device that allows me to utilize PoE to power my Echo Show 5 and thus not violate any electric codes when running it behind my drywall. It's the perfect teammate for the Mount Genie Show 5 wall mount. Price seems just a little steep however I've bought a few other brands that offer the same thing for half the price and yet hear I am if that tells you anything. Pay for the quality. Buy with confidence.

Very nice idea, I order 5 items, can help with a lot of POEs devices, if it doesn’t fit your device just get adapter and make it work, I really like it. However! The device get really HOT! Like really super Hot, & I won’t trust leaving it inside the walls, attic, or where can cause fire. Overall I’m planing to using all the devices but not inside the walls..

Worked just as intended for me. But please note: This is advertised as POE adapter for smart home devices. The plug that is attached to this adapter is not the correct size to fit into your smart home device natively. This manufacturer's wall mount kit (for home hub anyways as I purchased) includes the cable extension and necessary plug size adapter to make this fit properly without any damage. This is written in their listing, if it is read carefully it will be understood. But I see other reviews that the plug didn't work and wanted to try and explain why. The only thing that could make it better is if the adapter wasn't needed!

Good idea but power input plug is to large for the nest mini power input It dont fit. Rubbish

While it works as advertised this has been quite frustrating to use. The barrel connector is too deep to allow for installation in most walls, thankfully the mount came with an extension lead. The PoE adapter itself also runs incredibly hot, to the extent that heat can be felt through the wall it is mounted in.

It does the job if you have the right adapter.

Great product while it worked, unfortunately not responding after 2 years of constant use. No POE handshake is happening, but data still passes through. Will need to purchase a replacement.
