Bananagrams Fluff Rolling Dice Game - Family Game with Cups Like Liars Dice

This is a great family game! My youngest (6) cannot grasp it but my eldest (8) does and it is great fun challenging her! We have to give it our best efforts to beat her (and we rarely do!) Each player has 5 die which is only visible to them. One person starts by calling the number of die they estimate to be in the game eg “three twos” - but only they know what they have and, hence, how likely the statement is. Each player is forced to constantly increase on the previous person’s call - eg if the previous person guesses that there were three “fives” in the game then The next player has to either say there are four “fives” or three “sixes” at a minimum. Anybody can call your bluff but if they get it wrong they lose a dice. If they are right, I lose a dice. The game is to bluff at the right time so that you force your opponent to make a crazy call when their turn comes around and you can catch them out! (Unless they are smarter and catch you out!) After a bit of practice you can really have fun with the game and can target other people. A great game that gets better as you learn the tricks! Recommended for 8y and older.

Food fun game

We played this game on a recent holiday and everyone loved it. It was easy to learn although there is a lot of strategy involved. If you have to pack light this might not be the game for you since it took up quite a bit of space in the bag. One of our cups does not close as well as the others which can lead to the dice flying off if you shake it too vigorously - obviously the kids refuse to have this one!

I'm not sure if I'm just teaching them to play poker when they grow up, but lots of similar skills here in bluffing and considering probabilities. Ok, up front this is quite a bit of money for a bunch of dice and some plastic pots, but actually the presentation, quality, and whole package is where the value comes in. We got off the ground very quickly to play with 2, 3, then 4 people. Super easy to get, and my 2 daughters loved how devious you can be. Strategy naturally creeps in, as does different techniques in bluffing. If you wanted to play you could do with just 5 dice each and set number 1 as the "joker", but if you can afford it this is a great package. The proof is in the pudding, and every time we finish a round, my kids always want another ASAP!

Mixed feelings about this game. Not the easiest to play

Out of the 30+ games we have at home fluff is a family favourite. It's easy to pick up the rules, even for relatively young children but deep enough for adults to really enjoy. Sure, you could whip up a liars dice set for pennies but a nice, vibrant and complete package for this price is a steal. Pretty portable too. 100% worth a buy!

"Be the best fluffer" the game's packaging enthusiastically proclaims, followed by various descriptions of "fluffing" strategies such as "the semi-fluff" and "pure fluffer". Roll those patented "fluffing dice" in your "fluff cups" using a variety of techniques such as "The Smooth Swirl" and "The Shimmy Shake", or invoke "Sloppy Style" for a more challenging round of "fluffing". Fun for the whole family! Fluff is a perfectly serviceable, and rather well made, liar's dice style game that does exactly what it sets out to do.... and then some. If the above sampling of the game's most quotable bits has you roaring in hysterics as much as I did, this may be the Liar's Dice game for you! I have no idea if this was an intentional choice of wording by the creators, but dear lord it had me stifling laughter for a good fifteen minutes as the magic of this highly unconventional verbiage unfolded before me. This may discourage some potential buyers, but for others like me the sheer ribald absurdity will only further the incentive to purchase this game. And to those among you I can heartily say "fluff on!"

I really wanted to return this item as the quality was not what I was expecting and I guess I didn't realize this was only for 4 players. Wanted to return this as I purchased a much better one and better quality. Plus each dice has a critter on it instead of the number 1. This is not liars dice then. I am not going to pay $22 to ship back a game for $23. Thought this was free shipping back as I seen no where that it said return policy is for me to pay. Maybe I missed it.

Fluff is a take on a classic game called Liar's Dice. I hadn't played Liar's Dice in years and a friend recommended this version from the folks at Bananagrams. (They make more than word games. Who knew!) Fluff is all about bidding and bluffing on the quantity of dice in play, but you can only see the dice in your own cup. It's elimination style game play and whole lot of fun. The components of this game are very nice. You won't find nicer dice. 5 stars. Check it out!
