Buy this gripper!
I own all the COC grippers and have owned the Ivanko gripper. I gave a friend my Ivanko gripper once I got the COC set. Big mistake as even with the in between COC grippers it's hard to get just the right weight. Both the COC and Ivanko grippers are excellent. Let me write about the Vatiz gripper now. First off it comes in very nicely packaged from the shipper and Vatiz. Shipping was very fast. This gripper is a beast. It is heavy and very well made. Very smooth movement. Has the same grip angle as a COC gripper. The handles are slightly thicker, but not by much. Very easy to adjust. I'd take this gripper over the Ivanko any day of the week, though I'd still buy the COC as they are the standard for testing your grip strength. Yes, it is an expensive gripper and worth the money period. I'll be using this along with my COC grippers. This gripper is just now making its way to the USA. I tried researching it before buying and could only find one review in English other than Amazon. Seems to be very popular in Russia. Anyhow, I'd buy this gripper again with no second thoughts! I am very pleased! I added a picture with a COC 2.5 on top of the gripper. The handles on the Vatiz close tightly together.

Awesome grip trainer
This thing is seriously well made. Cons: 1) It’s huge! It’s the size of a regular gripper with another gripper above it turned upside down. 2) It’s way harder to squeeze than my other grip trainers. I don’t know if those are wrong or this one is wrong as far as the resistance. I have 100, 150, and 200 pound grippers. The Vatiz one is harder on the lowest setting (supposed to be 60 pounds) than the 100 pound gripper. The setting that’s supposed to be around 125 pounds is as difficult as my 200 pound gripper. Neither of these issues take away from that fact that this gripper works really well. Maybe bruised my ego a little bit because of how hard it is, but that’s really the point of training.

Must have gripper for beginners or experts.
This is a very well built adjustable hand gripper. Body is made from stainless while the handles are made of aluminum. The knurling is not very aggressive and requires the use of gym chalk. Pros: Sturdy stainless frame Many adjusment levels Comes with 2 springs Very smooth action Nice packaging Worth the price Cons: Handle knurling could be more aggressive (may not be a con for others) Whether you're a beginner or an expert, this is definitely something worth adding to your collection.

Handles are too smooth
Everything is great about this gripper except the knurling. It’s too smooth and will slide out of your hand on the higher settings (6-6 and up). I really wanted this to work for me. Was using this to bridge the gap between the CoC 2 and 3, but it just slides too much.

Will last a lifetime, from beginner to expert
Used and currently using this item to regain hand and forearm strength after rotator cuff surgery. Spend three months with an arm in a sling. This item helped my strength in the inactive hand and forearm quickly. It is solidly built and will last a lifetime. The packaging is nice and I kept it for storage of the device. The knurling is good and gives a positive grip for a single spring. Once you move the spring toward the top or add the second spring it would be wise to get some chalk to aid in grip.

I haven't analyzed whether this works better to increase grip strength in comparison to other grippers ...
I haven't analyzed whether this works better to increase grip strength in comparison to other grippers - I have several different types. But, for me, part of the value of a piece of exercise equipment is that it feels right - makes the exercise more enjoyable. If I find myself looking forward to using it, I use it more often. The Vatiz just feels perfect for my hands. I have a few other adjustable grippers. The only one that fits my hand this well is the Baraban, which I reserve for doing negatives at this point, due to the attachment that they provide for that purpose. But the vatiz - I just love picking it up and using it. Really an excellent piece of equipment.

Excellent quality, but insufficient knurling
I own both the Vatiz and Barabans adjustable grippers. They are both top notch products, but the Vatiz rates just a bit lower in my estimation because the knurling on the handles is not deep enough, so I find it difficult to keep it in the 'sweet spot' when doing a grip set. I find the Barzbans gripper stays put much better, due to its deeper knurling. I also find the spring on the Barabans gripper easier to squeeze than the one one the Vatiz. This may not be an issue for someone who starts with a stronger grip, but I have a relatively weak grip, so the Vatiz is more difficult for me to use. The Barabans handles close with only the ends touching, more like a regular spring gripper (COC, etc), whereas the Vatiz handles close flat, with the handles touching together along the entire length. I find that this makes it more difficult to close them completely. However, this extra difficulty could also be a plus, depending on one's perspective. Four stars for the Vatiz. But I'm giving five stars for the Barabans device. But really, both of them are very high quality. I'm comparing the two in this review for those who may already own a Barabans, or wonder how they are different. If I had to go with only one gripper, it would be the Barabans, simply because I have a weaker grip, and find it easier to close. But I'm glad I own both of them, as they are both excellent quality.

8 month review: Very happy with results, blows away any of the other grippers in the photos I've posted except the other adjustable that looks like a U. That one has more adjustments and I use it and the Vatiz for my workouts. Nice even resistance and gradual increase of resistance to increase strength. I put off getting this because it was expensive, but it is definitely worth the money. Even resistance throughout for a full range of motion. Parallel close. Nice small resistance increases from around a CoC sport to a CoC #4. Resistance wise, the lowest setting is a little tougher than my GD 90 first setting and a little easier than my 100 pound gripper, though that is only tougher for the last 1cm. About the same as a Captains of Crush sport. It is kind of tough to judge because it has the same resistance throughout. I'm sure the GD 90 has a higher rgc, but because the Vatiz has high resistance throughout it seems harder. It comes in nice packaging, and they really protect it good in shipping. Knurling wise it is about perfect. Just slightly more aggressive than the Captains of Crush. The lowest setting might be a little too tough to some. Which is the only disadvantage. But you can maybe use elastic bands or a weaker spring if you can find one. The Ivanko springs work. The picture is of the Ivanko. The Ivanko is great for a range of lower resistances until you can handle the Vatiz. In my opinion the Vatiz and Ivanko are the only two grippers you ever need. Feels great and works the muscles the best in the largest range of all the grippers I've tried: GD 90, Ivanko, Captains of Crush, generic 100-350 pound set, 10-60kg plastic grippers. The quality seems excellent as well. Very happy with purchase. Delivery was quick too, less than a week.

Five stars because I can't see anything wrong with this item so far. it is for people who already have reasonable grip strength. If your grip strength is weak you might struggle with this. It's to develop a powerful grip rather than for rehab. The beginning setting is 27KG which is 59.5 pounds. It goes up to 110KG-242.5 pounds using one spring and up to 177 KG-390 pounds using two springs. It has a very smooth action. I chose this model/brand because you can move your fingers into the position you want like an ordinary spring gripper. I find that hand grippers that separate the fingers cause me discomfort, but that might not be a problem for you. You may prefer it.

The vatiz gripper is a very nice thing indeed. I have a few grippers, RB plus a lot of CC,s and a few other brands. The thing that makes this worth a look is how it feels. It's the most consistent grip I've got.. The tension is immediate and the same from the beginning of the squeeze to the close. It's very well made also. Definitely recommend it, especially if you are training to go through the cc range.. Its a good companion to the ccs in your training. I like it more than my RB highly polished special edition gripper in the feeling it has. Pretty expensive these days but you will use this one.
