Installation was straightforward, and it runs smoothly without excessive noise. This pump feels solid and well built, exactly what you’d expect from Goulds. It’s been dependable and performs exactly as described. A great choice if you’re looking for a quality irrigation pump that gets the job done.

I purchased this water pump in November 2025 to replace the identical model that had been in service for approximately 15 years without issue. Based on that history, I expected comparable casting quality and structural integrity. The new unit was installed less than one month ago. Shortly after installation, I observed water leakage originating from the pump housing. Upon removal and closer inspection, I discovered that a section of the cast-iron mounting flange had fractured at the bolt location where the pump secures to the motor. The fracture appears to be a casting defect or material integrity failure rather than an installation-related issue. There was no evidence of over-torquing, misalignment, or abnormal mechanical stress during installation. The failure seems attributable to inadequate casting quality or insufficient structural strength in the housing. A pump housing should not experience structural failure within weeks of service, particularly at a primary mounting point. Compared to the original unit’s 15-year service life, this represents a significant decline in durability and quality control. Based on this premature housing failure, I cannot recommend this product.

It’s an awesome pump. Goulds is top of the line. Now FEDEX needs to up their game Pump was delivered with a dent on the base Clearly a shipping problem.

Okay price

Purchased in 2016 and has been running for our sprinkler system pulling the water from the retention waterway. It primes flawlessly. It has been outdoors 100% exposed to the elements here in FL without any problems. I have flushed it a few times with fresh water because I would loose the water vacuum pressure which was caused by the index valve (switches station after every on/off from the pump). That also brings another point, it has been used in an on/off sequence. This puts added stress on the electronic components and the overall unit, still runs like new. I was lucky to get it back when it was around $350, everything now costs crazy more. Would I buy it now at the new price? I am not sure, there is plenty of other pump systems out there that might work as good as this one for half the price. Will it last as long as this one? if the pump lasts 5 years at half the price, that is not bad in my opinion. But if you just want to spend the money and not worry for the next few decades? Yup, "shut up and take my money"!

I installed this pump. It seems powerful and well made. I am hoping for the same longevity as has been mentioned in the reviews. I had been using another brand that was not metal. I had replaced two pumps in 4 years due to pump wall failure. I think this cast iron pump will stop that from happening in the future. So far so good with this one. I will write another review if this one has issues.
