Rubies Asian Princess Costume for Kids, Girl's Large

This product runs big. I got a large.for.an extremely tall 9 year old and it touched the ground. If your kid is short or average height you'll want to size down. It also.runs big in the waist and chest. I had to tie it in at the waist to make it look right and the chest was baggy. My kid is 58 inches tall 72 lbs. Chest 26. Waist 25. Hip 28. Medium would have been a bit short but a better fit for us.

Oh god, my 6 year old loves this. her favorite "Princess" is Mulan and she loves to play dress up so this quickly became her favorite outfit. She has worn it over and over and over. It barely fits her now and has tears in it because she wore it so much, but she doesn't care and still puts it on.

No issues as some reviews had. It held up great to five uses so far, and my daughter crawled through a huge box maze in it! I'm glad I listened to reviews and got a size bigger so her arms wouldn't tear the costume at the arm seams. It was overall big because of it, but worth it for the arm room. If you have any older daughter who doesn't get rambunctious then the regular size might work, but my 8 y/o gets crazy. It was also very long, I had to hem it 4 inches just to get it above her feet. I would rather it long so I could hem because having it long is important for the look, but if you cannot sew be prepared to get some help. Like other reviewers we didn't use the hair piece, my daughter didn't like it much and it just didn't look right anyway for some reason. I just put fancy buns in her hair. Overall very happy with it, but be prepared for alterations.

The Asian Princess Kimono Costume is beautifully patterned material. Unfortunately, the fit is poor and the quality of construction is worse. I ordered a large, but the sleeves were extremely narrow - not proportioned to the rest of the costume. The material frayed and seams fell apart before we were out the door. It was impossible to mend because of the fraying. There is no give - what looks like a wrap is velcroed to the front. Overall, a big disappointment.

NEGATIVES: Costume was a TERRIBLE fit; very odd proportions, uncomfortable, and unwearable without MAJOR alterations (inc. the hair ornament!) POSITIVES: Colors were pretty - Costume made it through Trick-or-Treating without falling apart THE DRESS: I bought this for my 6 yr old...what's to fit??? She's tall for her age so I usually have to buy clothes made for older girls. This usually means that some aspect of the item is a little large, like, the sleeves being too long. This was NOT the case with this costume. Far, far from it. Although the length was fine, my mother and I spent the week before Halloween splitting the seams along the arms -from armpit to below the elbow- and completely removing the elastic band from the waist area. We were forced to leave the arm seams open, only sewing the sides to prevent further fraying. To help camouflage the, now, gaping sleeves problem, we had her wear a light pink, long-sleeve shirt underneath the costume. It also helped that we waited until after sundown to begin our evening. THE HAIR ORNAMENT: See how this hair ornament sits atop the little girls head in the photo? We managed to get the same effect, but, first, we had to anchor the flower to the hair comb, and then do the same with the fan to the flower. A few quick stitches did the trick, but my mom and I were so frustrated at this point that it seemed a MAJOR bother. This costume was so "off" that we decided to make an entirely different costume ( based on the Bloobytack character from G Is for One Gzonk!: An Alpha-number-bet Book ) for her school's Halloween Parade. However, that ended up being a lot of fun to create! We felt the kimono was just too awkward for her to slip on by herself. In the end, she did look adorable, and she and her father -who wore the Kabuki Warrior Adult Costume - received loads of compliments. I mentioned in the beginning of this review that the colors of the kimono were very pretty, and that is the truth, but I'll pay the extra $10 and stick to costume stores with fitting rooms for our future costume needs.

Great Product.

I purchased this costume for my 5 year old daughter to wear for Halloween. It is VERY pretty. But, VERY delicate and the sleeves are too long. It is not a well constructed item for play. It is very thin material. So, I needed to reinforce a few seams and adjust the sleeves. Still, it will get her through Halloween and she will look beautiful in it. The headpiece is not as nice as it appears in the picture. So, we created our own with chopsticks, play beads and fake flowers. You can't expect much for the price. Afterall, it is just a kid's costume. However, my little girl is happy :)

Muy bonito y llego súper rápido

l'abito è solo un pò lunghetto ma è stato facile da accorciare.....Forse il pettinino è un pò scomodo da fissare su bimbe che hanno i capelli lisci e sottili come la mia!

Gorgeous appearance

Está muy mal hecho, no se de dónde sacan las medidas, porque a mis nietas de 8, de 11 y de 12 no le quedó a ninguna, a la de 11 y 12 les queda enorme de la cintura y corto de la falda, a la de 8, le queda enorme de todos lados, la banda de la cintura, esconde un elástico horrible, que no ajusta y no está cosida, por lo que queda colgando y se ve el elástico aguado.

Good quality for the price. Size large(10-12) is way too big for my 9 yrs old daughter. Had to make it smaller. But it’s pretty, my kid loves it!
