Meets expectations t this price point, but it's not 760 pound pull
I haven't used it in water yet, but it pulled a bucket full of nails and staples from my burn pile. That alone could have saved me the cost of a tire on the lawn tractor. Thread locker was a nice add-on, rope seems strong enough (pull the knots tight before you use it). Grappling hook will be good to retrieve things that the magnet can't quite lift. If you read the description carefully, it's a double sided magnet with a 380 pound pull rating. Either side will let go at 380 pounds, so you can't count that as pulling 760! Pull force is measured on a perfectly flat plate, pulled directly away. It will break free at much lower force if you rock to one side or slide it off. That's a good thing. I wouldn't want a fishing magnet that requires a winch or come-along to get it loose from whatever it sticks to. Max force only occurs when there is no gap between the magnet and the ferrous or nickel object. There's barely any force after an inch or two. That's expected. Do save the foam that it was shipped with to protect your car. If you carelessly toss this magnet into the trunk of your car and let this stick to the inside of your fender, you will almost certainly cause a dent when you pull it loose. The gloves are useless - really thin and won't fit a man sized hand. Do go get a decent pair of gloves unless you're a tough guy who is up to date on your tetanus shot. There will likely be metal slivers too small to notice stuck on this magnet that will still have the ability to pierce skin. Stuff pulled out of the muck at the bottom of a river is definitely not sterile. The grappling hook looks to be strong enough, and thankfully comes with bits of plastic tubing to cover the points - and that's needed because those points are very sharp. The carabiners appear to be good quality and made from stainless steel, but they are martensitic stainless, meaning that they are still weakly attracted to a magnet. I expect that they will have a tendency to snap down onto the magnet when throwing the magnet into the river. That will sort of defeat using the side pull to keep the magnet facing the river bottom.

Fast shipping, heavy pulling strength.
I was working on my dock when I dropped a very large 4' steel pry bar. I tried various magnets without success. I immediately ordered this fishing magnet kit based on previous reviews as well as the availability of overnight shipping. It arrived the next day and I was able to set everything up quickly and managed to "catch" the pry bar on my first throw. I was concerned that due to the small size it would not have the holding power needed. My concerns were unfounded as it easily held while I pulled it through the silt and debris and lifted it 5' out of the water. It also comes with heavy carabiners to connect to the line as well as a grappling hook and gloves. The gloves are nice as they keep your hands clean and protect you from sharp objects that may also get caught.

Great for starters magnet fishing
I bought these magnets for magnet fishing.Did it a couple of times but haven't caught anything but they do work perfectly fine.I used them to pick up nails that got spilt in the shop, and they picked them up perfectly easy to use. I love the design. The magnet strength is pretty strong. The price aint too bad. They're super light and easy to throw

Endless hours of fun
I absolutely love my magnetic fishing kit, and it deserves a solid 5-star review! This set has provided endless hours of fun and learning for both kids and adults alike. The strong magnets make it a breeze to "fish" for metal items, and the quality of the materials is top-notch. What's truly great is the educational aspect – it's a fantastic way to teach kids about magnetism and the environment. Cleanup is a breeze, as the kit comes with a sturdy container to store the treasures you've "caught." It's an engaging and interactive activity that's perfect for family outings or just some relaxing time by the water. I can't recommend this magnetic fishing kit enough – it's a hit for all ages!

Good beginner kit but magnet is not very big or as strong as anticipated.
The magnet fishing kit was exactly as pictured however, I’m not sure that the amount of pounds the description says it can hold is accurate. I took it to a canal up the road from my house to test it out and it easily picked up a bunch of like small soda cans. I felt the magnet grab onto something bigger however when I tried to reel in the rope, the magnet did not hold onto the object. This even happened when I picked up what looked like an old metal coffee can, as soon as I pulled it up a little bit above the water it fell right off the magnet and back into the canal. Overall I would say it’s a good magnet fishing kit if your trying to fish for something small but if you want a magnet that can actually hold a lot of weight then this isn’t the product for you. The hook attachment is also a good tool for picking up small items. I would give it a 7/10.

Simple but perfect
A perfect kit for a beginner magnet fisherman without breaking the bank. It has decent holding strength without being impossible to pull your finds off. The 2 positions for the I-hooks is perfect for whatever area you search.

Magnet Fishing with besties.
Ordered this for my grandson who likes to pond fish with his close friends. They took the two fishing magnets that I ordered for Xmas right to the pond after lunch. It makes fishing SO exciting. I can’t describe the measurements or strength of this Magnetic Fishing Kit, but they 100% enjoyed it.
