Practical Robotics in C++: Build and Program Real Autonomous Robots Using Raspberry Pi (English Edition)

As the title suggests, 𝖯𝗋𝖺𝖼𝗍𝗂𝖼𝖺𝗅 𝖱𝗈𝖻𝗈𝗍𝗂𝖼𝗌 𝗂𝗇 𝖢++ describes and applies robotic principles to the construction of useful, functioning robots. It is exceptionally well written, clear, and concise, which is rather unusual for a book of this type. Graphics are great, too. It is comprehensive and does not assume prior knowledge of the subject, so if you don't know jack about Raspberry Pi or GPIO pins or grid maps, not to worry. It does not assume you are a C++ guru, either. Anyway, if you really want to build a robot, rather than just yammering about them, this is the book for you.

Clear writing style and well organized. I found this book to be indispensable as I learned to build my first mobile autonomous robot. The author covers every aspect of the process and although I vastly prefer using Python (and the book presents code in C++), 90% of the material in the book was still directly applicable to my project. Very few errors and very up-to-date.

I have been reading a number of books about building robots and this has been the best so far. As the book title suggests it follows a practical approach and provides very helpful information. This book holds the middle between the pure hobby books and the more professional / academic works. You cannot help to notice the authors enthusiasm for robotics. Highly recommended,

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. As an experienced programmer I expected something less but it gave me some of the answers I was looking for. Author could probably add more pages to explain some items in more detail, or put this in another book.

This book was very well written, I like how the author takes time to explain every detail especially for those who are new to robotics. I especially appreciated the guide on which Raspberry Pi builds will best suit what you are trying to do. If you are a novice or even an expert, you will learn something with this book. It is easy to understand and practically written.

The resources were excellent, like links to software and recommendations of hardware and the like, but leaned a lot toward ready-made expensive solutions instead of showing you how to mechanically construct basic things yourself out of simple materials.
