ZX110NC Noise Cancelling Headphones - International Version (No Warranty)

Note: Originally, I did buy these used to save a few bucks. After discovering a break, I ordered a new pair and had significantly better results. If you use EQ, these even rival the 200-dollar kinds. Sony ZX-110s are known to be used by casual listeners to enjoy the support of EQ software. I've even seen people wear them while doing live covers. When professionals wear something, it's best to find out why and trust them on it. That's why I took a gamble and bought these. [When I bought used] I really really really wanted to like these. The cups were comfier than the standard zx110s, but the audio didn't come close to the standard. I compared the zx110nc to the standard zx110 I already owned and found it's volume and sound to be significantly less. While this did improve when I flicked on the "noise cancelling" switch, I noticed vocals were clearer and the sound was louder. I live alone, noise canceling had nothing to do with this performance. I tried to test it out with the tv on but could still hear the television. It seems the noise canceling can at most damper the noise of an electric heater. Nothing higher. You'd have to turn up your volume to the high twenties and even thirties to block out a person's conversation. For some reason, the pair I had had cracked speakers. Meaning the black plastic that covers the actual speaker was slightly cracked form a weak foundation. Not sure how this happened during manufacturing, most likely someone but manual blunt pressure and "popped" a crack into it. Sadly, the audio is great with the so-called "noise canceling" on, but not enough to support the idea of changing a battery every ten days if you listen for eight hours per day. I'll maybe buy it again to see if I just had a lemon. But there's a lot of reviews with the issues I had. I did buy new, and had a significant change of mind! I didn't realize how much two little cracks on the earpad covers could change so much! [Second Attempt, bought new] Upon arrival, I was greeted to the firmness of the pads that help with my stemming and adhd symptoms. The sound was a lot better but slightly airy. That's when my mom pointed out, I needed to tighten the band. That's when the real results came, and even the noise canceling was a success. I didn't hear anything, not even the cars outside. I live near the airport, and I didn't hear the planes or the helicopters helicopters. I even didn't hear the TV that I forgot to turn off. If the sound is still not to your satisfaction. I highly HIGHLY suggest you use EQ. It's FREE. Honestly, the headsets don't even need them, just make sure the headband is NOT loose!

I bought these headphones to replace an older pair of Sony headphones where the foam covers had begun to peel off. They fit well and feel comfortable. My ears are not sensitive enough to judge the sound quality, but I had no problems hearing the sound. I would guess the noise cancelling works well as it, at least, muffled the sound of an air conditioner nearby. My only complaint is with the length of the cord. I bought these wired headphones specifically because not everything I would use it with has wireless capability. The cord would do fine with a device that I held in my hand or on my lap, but I also want to use it attached to a desktop computer. In this case, I found it hard to use the keyboard, due to the shortness of the cord. I measured it against the old set's cord and found the new set's cord is about 18" shorter. I will need to get a short extension cable to use it with the computer. An additional note: had known or realized that the foam covers could be replaced, I would have bought the available replacements, rather than a new set of headphones.

I've been using these headphones for a couple of years now and I absolutely love them...I recently had to buy a second pair because the wire was starting to expose on my first pair, but other than that (which I think can be partly blamed on my dog getting tangled up in the cord when she tried to get into my lap while I was wearing them) I haven't had any issues at all. They're comfortable to wear for extended periods of time and do a great job of blocking out background noise.

I was a bit concerned with the thin wire, but the sound quality is great. Very easy to use the noise cancelling feature, just sliding a button. Padding is comfortable. Easily adjustable and stays on even when sliding the headband to the back of your head. This product is better than the bluetooth based headphones for me, due to my EHS condition. I highly recommend to anyone with EHS or those who don't want to use bluetooth to save your phone's battery.

Had some high-end noise but for the price they are effective enough for what I wanted. I'd give 5 stars relative to the price but when comparing to other (more expensive) headphones they would not equal up. I'm very satisfied for the price. Update Oct 2023: I used these on the plane (again) and noticed a big difference when I slightly pressed the earpiece against my head. When I applied a little pressure the high-end noise went away and they were very quiet. I could not adjust the headphones to fit tight enough without pressing on them. Again for the price they are pretty good and maybe they will fit your head better than mine??

The last pair we got. Lasted my brother 1 1/2 years. He uses them almost 24/7. He biopolar & loves listening to him music & not disturb others. For the abuse vs cost they have been great.

These headphones are good quality for the price but they do not cancel out noise very well. Even with my music turned up and the noise-canceling turned on, I could still hear everything else around me. They serve my purpose but if you are looking for good noise-canceling headphones, these are not it. They have pretty good sound quality though for the price. I wasn't about to spend over $100 on headphones. However, after wearing them for only over an hour, my ears really started to hurt. If you have a large head as I do, these will hurt your ears after only wearing them for a short time. I had to take them off after just wearing them for an hour.

Tengo los Sony BX550 y cada que giras la cabeza pareciera se quebrará el plástico. Estoy son cómodos y no llegas a sentirlos en algún momento. La cancelación del ruido es perfecta. Mi abuela ya no escucha muy bien y para las videollamadas familiares le funcionan a la perfección.

音の伸びが素晴らしい。奥行きがある音場作りで、耳へのあたりも強くなく、長時間でも疲れないのがいい。ノイズキャンセラーをonにした方が高音の伸びがいいようです。使い込んでどう変わっていくか、楽しみです。
