I have 2 rescue dogs, one that is very skittish and another who is overly confident and boisterous Both dogs pull excessively on a lead, with no regard as to whether they are choking themselves - Genuinely awful to walk as it is stressful for all involved. I’ve tried a halti before but they seemed quite uncomfortable and the dogs would fight to remove them - Saw these leads, and while they’re a little expensive - they’re worth every. single. penny I’m not gonna lie, neither dog likes them and for the first couple of walks they would fight to get them off but would fairly quickly accept it - and now they don’t really bother about them. You can tell they’re not overly happy with the situation, but they get more walks now as it’s just a much more pleasant experience for the walker - if not the walkee. We can walk with a loose leash, they can sniff to their hearts content, and even my 11 year old can control them now. The bit that goes over their nose is well padded, and the lead is simple to put on - it also has a backup clip in case they do manage to get the head piece off and the lead is really good quality - absolutely no downsides to the product itself I must admit, one of the dogs (the skittish one) does seem a bit down when wearing it… she’s less enthusiastic when we’re out, and maybe a little more anxious than usual but she gets plenty of time in the garden without wearing the lead to be a little more ‘free’ So while not especially perfect for my dogs, that’s more a ‘them’ problem than anything to do with this lead - as I say, it’s worth every penny to me and how much I enjoy walking them

I rarely leave reviews for products unless they are particularly good or bad. This lead falls int the first category and is awesome. My cocker spaniel ( masquerading as a tennis ball in the video) has been pulling like a monster truck and isn’t 2 years old until March. I have tried numerous harnesses and other leads and none have made the slightest difference, until now! This lead, excuse the overused description, IS A GAME CHANGER! From the first time walking him using this lead, he has completely changed to a non puller (see video). The first time he had it on he tried to pull once, and once only. Since then, he has realised and more importantly, understood that by pulling he gets nowhere no matter how much he tries. Walks are now pleasant and easy with both dogs together. Try it, you won’t regret it!!!!

Worked a treat from day 1. My sons young lab pulled like a train no matter what training he did. Bought this and worked right away, no pulling. Makes walking him a pleasure. The rubber stop to keep it from loosening needs to more durable as it split after 3 months or so. Lead still worked but was easier to keep on him with it. Also only lead I found with safety attachment for collar incase he slips out of it which he has done once but was warned by others they can do this which is why I picked this lead.

Just bought this and used with our working cocker spaniel. He’s three years old and pulls like mad on every walk. Yesterday was the first time he walked without pulling, the first time! he was in no discomfort with the padded handle and the nose hoop, what so ever and we both really enjoyed it! It was honestly like walking with a completely different dog! I would recommend this to anyone needing a training lead that’s safe, sturdy and a real value for money.

I have been using this lead for a number of weeks now on my chocolate labrador. Its good to prevent him pulling, however he stops and manages to get it off frequently. He ruined three Halti nose collars before this doing the same and chewing it.

Works really well. I have a large dog who has pulled me over in the past and since using this I can walk him comfortablely with one hand. I find it works better than the tradition face halti. Great value for money and good quality.

I read lots of reviews saying 'game changer' and 'life changing'', a bit dramatic I thought....but no!! We have a young GBGV that's a scent hound and spends her walks pulling hard to find a scent and then slamming the anchors on when she got one. A collar was too harsh on her throat and she used a harness like a sled dog, she actually broke the strap on one. I was worried that this lead would behave like a slip lead and close on her throat when she pulled, hurting her. It doesn't, it's so simple and clever. The lead doesn't sit on the throat it goes under her chin and directly to her snout. So any pressure she puts on relays directly there and she stops pulling forward immediately. It took a few minutes on the first walk for her to get used to it across her nose, but once she did she walks at the side of us perfectly. GAME CHANGER!

I don't usually leave reviews but I have been very impressed by this product and I'm happy to support a young, up-and-coming entrepreneur. This product is a great demonstration of keeping things simple. It takes a simple idea and adds some nice features on top to make it a high quality product. For example, the neoprene over the snout and the little buckle under the snout are very effective in terms of ensuring a comfortable fit for the dog and also a snug fit to give the owner piece of mind that it won't slip off easily. The addition of the extra clip is also a great idea. I can clip that onto my dog's harness for an extra layer of safety in case she does manage to get herself free of the lead itself. If that does happen, which is rare, the lead is still attached to her harness so there no fear of her getting loose and running out on a busy road or something like that. Simple, but very effective. I bought this lead as my dog, a miniature pincher, is just a puppy (7 months old) and tends to pull a lot and lunge at other dogs and even people sometimes which is never a good thing, especially when walking my kids to school with a lot of children and other dogs about. This lead has made an instant and significant positive impact on her behavior. She still has a lot to learn but this is a big step forward as she is already calmly trotting along beside us now. She rarely pulls the lead tight now, leaving it nice and relaxed for a comfortable and enjoyable walk! One other point that made a big difference for us: Being a miniature pinscher, my dog is quite small. Her head and snout are tiny. We had already shopped around for a Halti and visited a number of outlets but we were unable to find one small enough to fit our dog. This is the massive advantage of the Total Pet lead - it offers a lot of flexibility to ensure a proper, secure fit, even for a miniature breed. Also, I've used Halti's in the past and never really liked them as I found them a bit awkward - the Total Pet lead is definitely not awkward and is simple to use. Would love to eventually see this product on the shelves of the big pet outlets. I highly recommend it.
