As with all Kreg products this product has been well thought out. The included jig holding peg, drill bit clip into the underside of this jig so there are no bulky cases to hold everything in or pieces going missing. The edge guide quickly and effortlessly attaches to either side of the jig to make uniformity inevitable due to the accuracy this offers. As long as you can measure where to place the jig the rest is merely pressing the trigger on the drill. Due to the included storage in this piece and use of heavy plastic with the only metal being in the hole sleeves, this unit is wonderfully compact, lightweight yet solid and durable, this is a great tool for anyone building cabinets or book cases. I would gladly pay more for this for how much time it saves

I purchased the Kreg KMA3225 Shelf-Pin Jig 1/4" (6 mm) - Shelf Pin Drilling Jig for use in building a free standing shelving unit for a closet. I wanted to have adjustable shelves for this unit for flexibility in storing a variety of items. The Kreg jig worked perfectly and allowed me to have level shelf capability over the entire 8 foot height of the unit. The jig is robust, the instructions are easy to follow, and my wife was thrilled with the additional storage in the closet. As long as you have a level starting reference point on both ends for the jig, it will provide accurate matched holes for Kreg pins from bottom to top. The Kreg pins fit snugly in the holes and provide a very stable resting point for each shelf.

The Kreg shelf jig is a fine product that might actually deserve 5 stars. I however wanted to make everyone aware that if you drill the holes very quickly (as I've seen professionals do) you'll end up with ragged holes. That is when using the included drill bit into softer wood such as "Sande" plywood. Be sure to start slow with the drill at full speed and give the drill bit time to score the wood before pushing to depth. I can't say with certain if the issue is with the sharpness of the bit. I did get great holes after I slowed down.

Love this! It was a lifesaver drilling shelf peg holes in a cabinet. I used it to turn a gun cabinet into a quilt cabinet w shelves. I can’t ever make anything straight but this did the trick. Well-made and easy to use.

Very handy jig. You can drill groups of six holes for each shelf, or continue by inserting the supplied indexing guide in the last hole. Includes the jig, drill bit, stop collar, and some sample shelf pins. This jig can really speed up your cabinet making workflow.
