I decided to use these for my final nursery pot upsize on tomatoes I've been growing. I started off everything in the traditional 6 cells.. then moved them up to some "Roo Trimmer" clear nursery pots/trays. These gave the roots a little more room to grow before finally transplanting outside. I write in sharpie on the sides before adding any soil in. I also let them sit in the clear cup form the "Roo Trimmer" that was labeled with a 3M label. This allowed me to use the "Roo Trimmer" tray but keep the bottoms of the peat pots from just sitting in water all the time. Overall I've really enjoyed these. It's looking like the roots are starting to grow through the peat pot. Will be awesome to be able to plant the entire pot in the ground when i go to transplant. Initially I was hoping to find some that were bigger still, but this size has worked well.

These are by far the best peat cups I have found. Toots have no problem growing through them!

These are really good, not cardboard like most you can find here on Amazon, but actual coconut coir. They get soaked in water the moment you plant it, that's a good sign, it means they are actually biodegradable and will let the roots through once you plant them with the pot. Most importantly, unlike cardboard, roots easily make their way through the porous structure. But obviously that means they will need to be placed on a tray or a saucer as everything may get wet and messy underneath. You can see two of them together and the one with wet potting mix in it is fully soaked and wet.

These were perfect for my garden project! They are bigger than 2" in diameter, and taller than expected as well, but they were easy to cut down to the size I needed.

I am a repeat customer. I have had much success using these in my flower gardens.

I bought a set of these peat pots after reading a bunch of different product reviews on other comparable items,and am very pleased with the results. They came in, and while some of them stuck together pretty well as I was separating them for planting, they seemd sturdy enough right from the get-go. I read that some people were disappointed by these falling apart too easily, but in my mind, I was buying them to biodegrade, so wouldn't that be a good thing? They were just right- sturdy enough that I planted peas, corn, pumpkins, watermelons, cucumbers, and a number of other seeds and they held together with a few thorough soakings (from the bottom up). I planted everything right in the ground this year, and by the time I had the seedlings hardened off, some of the roots were starting to grow right through the peat pots (also a good thing in my opinion). Strong enough to hold together for sprouting, growing and hardening off, biodegradable enough for roots to start growing through right around the time of planting. These worked so well I went back and bought a second set! High reccomendations if you're looking for a dependable biodegradable option for your garden.

I have been using 3" jiffy pots for my seed starters and thought these looked a bit more efficient and cost effective. These wicked up the moisture and were immediately saturated and stayed that way. Once saturated they are very challenging to move without tearing. Maybe because they are so saturated, I got a layer of fungus over the top of all these trays. I had 3" jiffy pots in the same covered tray and they did not develop fungus. Yes, I can probably figure out how to avoid it, but the fact that the material becomes so saturated is likely the problem. I bottom water with just a small amount, but it quickly wicked through the entire tray. Bottom line, I probably will not buy these again.

Excellent product. Super-easy to transplant when time to re-pot or plant outdoors. Roots penetrate easily, preventing root-bound stunted plants. Great improvement!!! Before I found Daniel's Naked Pots, I used 2-inch peat pots for the seed germination stage. Not such a good idea. The peat was too impenetrable and the roots were becoming bound up. Transplanting into these non-peat 4-inch pots, the starts grew rapidly and the roots eventually grew through these plantable pots. No need to remove these Naked Pots; just placed them in gallon pots, awaiting the great outdoors, where they will be placed in the garden soil. Next year I will begin with Daniel's Naked Pots.

The smell is so strong and toxic it made us sick we had sore throat and ears and it was going into our chest ! Do not buy this product

Pots work okay. Can be a bit flimsy when damp. Some reviews stated the odour can be off putting and I certainly agree with that. It is certainly not a ‘woodsy’ smell you may expect.
