update- I had to stop taking it. Works amazing but I became increasingly concerned with the top two herbs both Fo-Ti and Gotu kola both cause liver damage at specific high dosages and after constant use. Unfortunately, hypothyroidism is not a temporary problem then I got a small lump under my arm and my boobs got huge. Fo-Ti is a powerful phytoestrogen so I called up Dr. Christopher's herbs to find out about dosage for those two herbs in the formulation and no one called me back. The person who answered did not now, took my info and no one called. So, I decided I didn't want to risk my health and I stopped. Almost 24 hours after I stopped the lump went away, just in ashwagandha now and doing fine. It works. I'm a thyroid patient for 6 years now, started after pregnancy. I have taken levothyroxine which robbed my calcium and made me feel awful. I have taken desiccated thyroid which made me hyper. This works. I felt the fluttering in my throat my mind was clear I was focused and I slept like a log and felt rested. I took the plunge and I stopped all thyroid meds but still supplemented with iodine. Turns out I had to decrease my iodine supplement significantly because between the iodine and this herb supplement I went hyper. Yes, hyper me naturally with a hypothyroid on this product. I just have to say this... In many, many cases of hypothyrodism nutrition is key, low stomach acid is key, leaky gut is key, shutting down the auto immune response is key. No one not one doctor including my endocronologist told me to take iodine, not one told me to shut my antibodies down with selenium. Not one told me to take zinc and magnesium because they were essential for thyroid function. Not one told me to supplement with L-tyrsone the amino acid that makes thyroid hormone. Not one told me to take pepsin and betaine with meals so my stomach could absorb my nutrients properly and help digestion reducing leaky gut. Not one told me to take a digestive enzymes to supplement the digestive enzymes that my body was not making due to being hypothyroid. Not one told me to take TMG for my methylation issues. Not one told me to properly support my adrenals with the "right" adrenal formula for me and have my adrenals tested with a 24 hr saliva cortisol test. Long story short, had I had the right advice initially I probably could have avoided medication all together. Thyroid affects so many systems in the body and they must all be supported for proper balance and healing to occur because the goal is healing and not putting a bandaid over sympotoms with medication that make us feel awful either too wound up or no energy. How do I feel on Dr. Christopher's herbal thyroid? Rested, relaxed, clear thinking I have energy but its not a jittery energy. I can feel myself coming back to wellness the likes of which I haven't felt in so many years. I can't tell you.I have to have my vision checked because now my prescription is too strong. A few days on this I had a moment when my body and my mind both said, this is normal. The best part is that I can tweek it by increasing or decreasing iodine. Currently, I am on Dr. Brownstein's iodine protocol. So having said that, is it a miracle cure? Nothing short of for me yes but I have to also add that I have properly been supporting my body with the supplements required to assist all the areas that thyroid comes into contact with to place less stress on my system. Basically what I'm saying is that if you do not do that and just take this you may succeed but thyroid disease is not a one trick pony. It will get you. In every area. It works. I'm off meds. Couldn't be happier, sleeping like a log and zero anxiety.

I have purchased this product for about 3 years now and I am very impressed with the product. Blood tests show my thyroid levels are consistently normal. I have no negative side effects, but I did have with the prescription I used prior to this product.

I have had thyroid- (hypo-thyroid) for 18 years. i have spent all but the past 3 years on prescribed thyroid medication (synthroid and levothyroxin) until I realized the disadvantages of prescribed and the advantages of herbal. I had no weightloss and yet many side effects with synthetic thyroid if i missed it for an hour I knew i didnt have the medicine in my system. I would have severe mood swings- felt cold dry skin and just irritated. when I switched to herbal not only did i begin losing weight i felt better than i had felt in years. more energy more lively and if i missed a few days ( i did when we were on a mission trip) i had no ill effects at all. now I use this with thyroid adrenal formula and thyroid maintenance formula. it calls to take 2 tablets 3 times a day. I have such a busy schedule running a full time ministry for the homeless that i only get to take them in the morning. I still feel great ! I didnt consult a doctor about quitting my meds. I consulted the great physician through prayer and God led me to this. He always leads us to the BEST things for US! try it for yourself. with all herbal meds you really have to give it a week or two to get in your system. I have been using herbals for 3 years now and I know its is the best move i ever made. I saw a dr recently because i had gotten bronchitis. (first time to see a dr. in 3 years also) He couldnt get over how healthy I looked for someone who has had such a horrible time with thyroid problems and thyroid cancer at one time (which God healed without hospitalization and without chemo) I recommend this true BUT as with any situation I recommend prayer FIRST!

Not used to taking pill twice a day but worth it

I was diagnosed with low thyroid function, and prescribed a low dosage of synthetic hormone. This worked okay but I got tired of the hassles inherent with renewing the prescription. Plus, I wanted a solution to stimulate my thyroid into producing natural hormone, not a synthesized replacement. Christopher’s Herbal Thyroid has worked great for me; my skin is much better than it was with the prescription, and I just feel better overall. A couple blood tests indicated that my thyroid levels were good, so the prescription has been history for a few years now. This reviewer would strongly recommend verifying the functionality of this or similar herbal remedies with appropriate clinical testing as “your results may vary.” But this formula works great for me and I highly recommend it.

I don't feel perfect yet, but I'm feeling better on this supplement (and on Dr. Christopher's Adrenal formula, Swanson Triple Iodine, L-tyrosine and more). The problem is that, at least as of this writing, this product seems to be out of stock everywhere. I ordered some from a seller and they ended up refunding my money 'cause they couldn't get the product from the manufacturer. I do have a couple negatives to remark about with regard to this supplement (or Adrenal Formula, which I bought at the same time) and Dr. Christopher's in general. I opened my bottle of Herbal Thyroid and my bottle of Adrenal Formula and dispensed two of each into my just-washed hand. I took two capsules (not sure which two), then went to take the second two. When I put them into my mouth, I felt something funny, so I spit them out into my hand and discovered that one of the capsules had a hair sticking out of it! I don't mean on the surface; I mean there was a hair embedded between the two halves of the capsule and sticking out. This was a coarse, black hair, so there's no way it could have been mine. I e-mailed the company and offered to send them high-res close-up photos, along with the dates of manufacture and the lot numbers, but I was disappointed when they never contacted me. I like their products, but the hair thing really turns me off...and I have no respect for companies that exhibit such customer service. Tsk tsk. I have continued to take their products, including their liver & gallbladder formula and, once in awhile, their kidney formula, as well as their thyroid formula and their adrenal formula. But the hair-in-the-capsule episode and their failure to respond to my concern leave a bad taste in my mouth, if you'll pardon the pun.
