Mezete Zesty Za'Atar Hummus, 215 GR

Good Flavor

Was not at all like a I was expecting.

I brought the Mezete Gourmet HummUS Zesty Za'Atar Mix 7.5oz to a party where it was tasted and then ignored. I admit, we are spoiled since we have a couple of restaurants nearby that make amazing hummus. For our palates, it is a bit too sour (pre-packaged hummus seems to need more acid to maintain freshness), and the herb mix was a bit strange. I think that I would prefer a plainer hummus that didn't have the thyme and rosemary. I would be willing to try a different flavor since I like that this is shelf stable. Unfortunately, the Za-Atar mix is not the flavor for me.

I ordered this Mézete Gourmet Hummus in the Zesty Za'Atar (Zesty Mixed Herbs) flavor. It's shelf-stable at room temperature until you open it, at which point it should be refrigerated and consumed within 3 days. The long shelf life means you can keep it on-hand in the pantry and bring it out for last-minute entertaining! The texture is excellent - smooth and creamy with no chunks or grittiness. Perfect for dipping into or spreading. Flavor-wise I mostly taste a mild green pepper flavor along with some of the mixed herbs - mild, but also zesty. There is green chili in the ingredients, but it's not spicy at all. A very versatile, enjoyable hummus!

This is quite possibly the worst thing I have ever smelled or tasted in my entire life. Upon opening it I smelled it and was immediately repulsed by the smell and could not control my gagging. I don’t even know how to properly describe how bad this smelled. I decided to brave this a bit further by tasting just a bit with the tip of my finger. Immediately my body rejected it as soon as it hit my tongue and I actually vomited in my trash can. So it’s a no for me dog.

This zesty mix was zesty but not overly spicy. I’m very sensitive to spicy foods and this was flavorful and left only the slightest tingle at the back of my mouth. There is just a bit of green chili in this mix and that is probably where I was picking up the spicy tingle. There is a nice mix of spices, and the hummus is very smooth. We liked it better on pita and spread on crackers, rather than as a dip for our vegetables.

Mine came broke open so I couldn’t actually taste it, but it smelled good!

This food product arrived on time. I was able to try it almost immediately. I was pleasantly surprised as I was unsure about the sesame flavor, but it is rather good and tasty. Very small container, but what is inside makes chips or whatever you use it with taste better.
