I don’t typically put much stock in vitamins. But I’m in my 40s and it’s highly recommended to take them, so I bought these because they seem like a decent price comparatively to other vitamins on Amazon. Now I’ll tell you why I do actually think these vitamins help. Once I hit my late 30s, I started getting nasty hangovers for no good reason. Just for being older. I bought some of those hangover patches that are supposed to time-release vitamins into you, and the different ones that I’ve tried work really well. How does that relate to these vitamins? Well the patches are kind of expensive, it’s like on average $2.50 per patch. To avoid a hangover, I do still think that’s a small price to pay, but I’m still cheap and also lazy so I ran out of the patches. I went out for some drinks with friends and I’m now in my early 40s, and I realized by the end of the night that a hangover was imminent. When I got home, I figured I’d take a multivitamin, just to help restore some level of vitamins in me. Next morning? No hangover. Slightly upset stomach but that’s my own doing from mixing alcohol. So now I take one of these every time before I go drinking. I take them on other days also when I can remember too. But it does make me think they’ve got some goodness in them that’s helpful to the body since it’s preventing my hangovers. Now I’ll caveat that also by saying the max amount of drinks that I will have in one night is like five over several hours. So I’m not saying this can save you from a complete binge. But I am saying that it helps me.

I have always trusted One A Day Women's Multivitamins for one simple fact: It has iron! There are so so so many women's vitamins out there that don't have this essential ingredient and it is such a disappointment because SO many women are unknowingly anemic. Women are far more likely to have lower iron levels than men. As a nurse who has worked in the OBGYN setting (currently in Labor and Delivery) for 12 years, I see that the majority of women (especially pregnant, but also just generally) have lower than the recommended levels via bloodwork. As a frequent blood donor, my iron levels are super important to me. I take these every day and donate blood every 2 months, and my iron levels have NEVER been too low. I have never been turned away (prior to taking these, I was turned away once in my teens for low iron levels). Having low iron can make you feel fatigued and miserable so it is important for overall health and wellbeing regardless of whether you donate blood. Enough about iron, these also contain all the other ingredients that you may need. They recently made these smaller than the originals so they are easy to swallow, they don't taste terrible (I mean, no vitamin is delicious unless you get gummies but that's a whole other conversation), they are a good price and last a long time, and did I mention the iron part?
