Works but you need to know that if your doors are very tall, it is very hard to reach up. but once you get it installed, you should be able to utilize with no problem. Very simple not in any resistance simply to help you with range of motion works well for that best if used in conjunction with an actual physical therapy so you know what sort of moves to do however they do include a handy booklet with some movement recommendations.

I have been using this pulley system for about nine months now as I do my exercises at home that my physical therapist has given me in addition to my daily sessions. I had a partial shoulder replacement and my range of motion severely lacking after the surgery. Several exercises required a pulley system and this is what I bought. When I received the unit it seemed very light-duty and wondered if it will last long enough for me to see any results. When I first started using it, I wished that it was longer since my range of motion was very bad and I was having a difficult time holding it. I am unable to raise my arm high enough to hold onto the handle with both hands. What I did was, hold it with my bad arm first then reach the other handle with my good arm. The rope is a little over 6' feet in length. Once it wraps around the pulley and down to the handles evenly it is only about 3' feet in length. The handles feel comfortable enough during use. It is about 1" inch round and 4.75" inch length. So far for the last nine months, this pulley system has worked very well and exceeded my expectations. After several months of use, the rope that I thought was too short is now too long. If you need to shorten the length of the rope I tried two different ways to do this. 1) Wrap the rope onto the handle until you reach the desired length and 2) tie a knot somewhere on the rope that will not interfere with the pulley motion. There should be an easy way to pull the rope through the handle and shorten it this way. This is the only reason I am giving it four stars.

Works great for shoulder physical therapy

I bought this to follow-up on exercise recommendations from my physical therapist as I recover form a broken collar bone. The product is very nicely designed and made with quality materials and comes with a nice little storage bag. There are a number of shoulder pulley systems available but I chose this one for a couple of reason: 1. instead of a metal hook that goes over the door, it has a loop of nylon webbing with one end made thicker by coiling the end of the webbing inside the loop at that end. Both approaches work to hang the pulley on a doors, the nylon webbing approach provides for the ability to tire the pulley to a beam or other overhead anchor point. My "stretching" chair sits under an exposed beam in my family room so the loop approach allowed me to tie the whole pulley assembly to the beam with some nylon cord running through the loop, and adjust the height to be perfect for my chair. The second reason was the handles, being very nicely covered with foam, can be rolled up on the cord a bit on one end (for the "pulling" arm) so that I could get additional leverage and not "bottom out" when my pulling arm hit my leg - giving me some on-the-fly adjustability that would be harder to achieve with the "D" handles pulley systems. I'm tall, so that adjustability was important. This let's me easily increase the length of the "pull" as I recover. In the end, this pulley system is working very well for me, provides for optional mounting locations, as well as doors, and some on-the-fly micro adjustment in use. All of the material appear to be high, or at least sufficient, quality, the handles are comfortable to use, the pulley itself appears reliable and runs smoothly. I highly recommend this if you are recovering from a shoulder injury.

Excellent pulley - strong, stable and easy-to-use!

The shoulder pulley mechanism itself works very well and helps my rotator cuff stabilize a bit at the beginning of each day. However, unfortunately it is designed for newer doors and is not wide enough to fit stably over the thicker doors in my 100 year old house. The device has stretched opened a bit to sit atop the door but, not fitting tightly, is prone to slip off the door mid-exercise. I had one twenty years ago that did fit but this one is ultimately a disappointment.

This is great, the price is great and it is made from durable material. If you suffer with shoulder pain this is what you need. No need for going to physical therapy use this in the convenience of you home. I highly recommend ordering it. Money well spent !!

Received the item with its pack torn, and obviously already used as it was untidely stuffed inside the pack. Item itself, though, works as advertised.
