Great value; use a power drill!
Really nice looking and very sturdy, except for the back, but most furniture comes with that crappy cardboard back. I thought this dresser was deep enough but once you pull the drawers out, you realize they're kinda short/hard to work with. I prefer a horizontally deep rather than vertically deep drawer, but considering this dresser only cost me 220 and is super nice otherwise, I would buy it again. My assembly was spread in small parts over several weeks lol so it wasn't bad. Instructions were very clear, but I do have some complaints/advice 1) Use a power drill! One of the main problems I had was bc I didn't have a drill to use. 2) biggest problem: those HORRIFIC twist lock screws. Did no one else hate these, really? If you have 0 muscle these are near impossible to turn and get stripped real fast, making it actually impossible to further tighten. The top of my dresser is not totally flush to the sides because of this. It's not a major issue, but yeah. Wouldn't have had this problem with a power drill 3) the holes for the rails on the inside of the dresser are too small for the screws, had to widen them all w/ a flat head 4) that bottom piece that connects to the R pieces was hard to align. It's not visibly crooked from the front but when I was screwing it in, it was too high up from one of the Rs lol. 5) Drawer rails are a bit hard to align. One of my drawers is woobly when I push it back in and I can't figure out why (I have asked my dad to come investigate lol). If there were some sort of guiding lines where you have to install the rails, that would really help ensure they're straight.

Solid piece of furniture if you don't mind assembly time
Dresser was as described, and has a nice finish. Not hardwood heirloom quality, but has a nice appeal to it. Nothing was damaged upon opening the box it arrived in. Minimal tools necessary to assemble, however one not listed that I would recommend is a tape measure. I will say this, if you do not know how to "square" or "rack" something, you shouldn't be attempting to assemble this piece. Also, if you do not know how to adjust drawers after assembly, you either need to learn, or again, don't even attempt. Most of the negative reviews I see seem to be people having these simple issues. I took my time with assembly, measured, measured, and then measured for good measure, squared everything up, made minor adjustments to two drawers when I was done, and ended up with a perfectly aligned piece with drawers that slide beautifully. I see a few people saying this only took them a couple hours...….don't think so. Plan on having around 4 - 6 hours of assembly to do this right (I was on my own, took me around 6). With that being said, I am very happy with the product, hence the five stars, however, taking into consideration the assembly time and price for a manufactured piece, I could have gone down to the local furniture store and found a nice already assembled hardwood piece in the scratch and dent/clearance section for the same price.

Very sturdy and beautiful dresser - quite a task to assemble
This dresser is very beautiful, sturdy and functional. This is much nicer than the other assemble yourself style dressers in the market. It is very beautiful but a finger print magnet. It is very sturdy, drawers slide in and out smoothly. Assembling is a big task. It took me a couple of hours. But well worth the effort. I found the assembly instructions easy to follow. I would not recommend this to people who don't enjoy DIY projects. I have given it 4 stars because of the effort required to assemble and for being a finger print magnet.

Very beautiful dresser. Learned some things from the 1 star reviews.
Alright guys... here are some pro tips to assembling this: -Overall Assembly - Intermediate Do not attempt to build this alone if you're new to assembling things. If you've built a few things from IKEA, then go for it. Do not attempt to build this in 2 hours. You're in for a ride. Find a long playlist, grab a few beers, and make it enjoyable. It took me a few hours (and I have an engineering degree). You need to pay attention to detail if you don't want your build to come out janky. I do not recommend using a power drill like other people have mentioned. Just use a screwdriver so that your screws will be flush with the piece, and perfectly aligned. -Receiving delivery & Unpacking Many of the 1 star reviewers complain about the condition... I guarantee you that your pieces came in scratched or damaged because you unpacked it carelessly. Make sure you unpack everything super carefully and find enough room to safely group each piece type. This thing is VERY heavy. I am very active and go to the gym a few times a week, and I had difficulty lifting this. Get help or slide it into your home VERY carefully. Don't be a tough guy and try to manhandle it. That is how you unpack damaged pieces. -Assembly I shouldn't have to mention this but... Follow the instructions very carefully. Step by step - do not skip a step and start assembling the shelves. If someone is helping you, stay on the same step together. The holes ARE pre drilled, if you cannot find the holes, you might have the piece backwards. If this happens, unscrew and go back a step. Do not try to make your own holes. Again, I have an ENG degree and I still did this a couple of times. -DRAWERS Tons of 1 star reviews came from the shelf portion of this. Carefully assemble each shelf and make sure it lines up properly. If it does not, pull it out and adjust the screw on the slider that is attached to the SHELF. The instructions do not mention this... but the front screws on the right and left sides should be positioned so that the screw is almost to the top of the oval hole, but not completely. Keep adjusting as needed until it is straight. Once you have it lined up correct, make sure the screws are in tight so that they don't catch. This is partly why the drawer will stick. Finally.... WD40!!!! Invest in a bottle of WD40 if you don't already have some in your house. Rub WD40 all inside of the sliders (top and bottom) and the wheel. End product will be an awesome dresser. You're welcome.

Buyer be ware!
We needed a dresser, in a hurry, for our guest bedroom and it's pretty clear that we got what we paid for. It doesn't look as nice, in person, as it does in the picture. The pre-drilled holes did not line up so drawers did not open easily. It is constructed out of particle board and the wood grain imprinting is very very thin. We would have returned this item but, as we learned later, it cannot be returned once it has been assembled . Make sure you take a good look at all the pieces before you begin assembly and look for holes that are not in line with one another. We got around the problem by drilling our own holes and adding additional screws to the front of each drawer bracket. One last thing...I've been a carpenter for over twenty years and I can't imagine how long this would take to assemble if one has little or no experience in assembling cabinets, etc. It took us just about four hours and although the instructions are pretty clear about NOT using power tools to assemble this item, I couldn't guess how long it would take to put this together, using only hand tools. The entire dresser comes completely unassembled. There are exactly 50 pieces that need to be assembled and that's not including the 24 drawer slides that need to be mounted, or the 161 screws that need to be fastened, or the 127 other miscellaneous pieces or the 60 nails for nailing the back panel of the dresser.

MY BACK HURTS
Took 9 hours of non-stop, sometimes back breaking work to get this sucker assembled. It looks great. There was a little damage to the top piece when it arrived and if you look too closely you can see a number of scratches as well. On the whole however, for such an inexpensive dresser, I am very happy with how classy it looks and how sturdy it is. The drawers especially are well re-inforced. Step 14 is terribly drawn. A very difficult step to follow, even with the video. the manual was pretty good, but there are way too many parts. I definitely recommend paying the extra fifty bucks to get someone else to assemble this behemoth. SO MANY DRAWERS. OW.... MY BACK. -- it got damaged pretty quickly, nicks on laminate show up a lot. When we moved, I didn't reinstall the support on the bottom. BIG MISTAKE. the whole unit collapsed and was unrepairable.

Excellent value and great instructions
I build this last night and it looks great. I should say, it looks great for the price. We did not have unrealistic expectations. This will not look like a thousand dollar dresser. However, it definitely looks much better than anything you'd find at a typical value big-box store like Wal-Mart or Target, for about the same price. The drawers slide smoothly and the dresser itself is quite sturdy once it's all together. The instructions were extremely comprehensive and easy to follow. One thing to note, is that when putting the drawer fronts on, you can put them on slightly crooked. This is easily rectified by backing out the screws from the front piece slightly, moving the drawer front to the proper alignment, and re-tightening the screws. I do not believe this to be a defect at all, just something to be aware of if you put the drawers in and notice one or two that look like they are at a slight angle compared to the others. Overall, a great value at this price. The drawers are big and this add character to a bedroom. It does not look "cheap" at all.
