I find this perfect for my 6” 3 layer cakes. The height is perfect and the sides have plenty of room also. I have a regular cake plate with a dome, but it’s not tall enough to clear my three layer cakes. I’m very happy with this. I only have one thing I wish that it had was that it was easier to hold like my other cake plate is. Where it has a spot underneath that’s open that you can put your hand in this is not this is completely flat. I find that the dome is made of a god quality plastic compared to my other cake plate. Overall, I’m very happy with this. I’m glad that I purchased it and I highly recommend it.

We make really tall cakes and they fit perfect in this dome. Great size and so cute!

Exactly what I was looking for as I was making a 3 tiered cake for my daughters birthday. The cake fit perfectly. I love the height of the cake dome and it seems well made. I didn't want a glass lid. I used a cake board under the cake as I didn't want cut marks in the wood base.

The plastic scratches easily

This is a very attractive cake dome! I searched for some time and it is hard to find a dome with sides that go straight up, that don't slant inward at the top, so my taller cakes fit in it great! The plastic is also thick, not flimsy, and it actually looks like real glass. I've been using it for about 6 months with many washings, and the dome still looks new, no scratches. The wooden base is also very nice and attractive!

It’s fabulous! 8” cake for sure, 9” cake will be hard not to mess up the icing.

We needed a cake dome that was taller than 4” which is the average height online. Our cakes seem to be at least 6”. This dome is very tall. We now also use it for storing fresh bread on its sliced side with heel facing up. Or, my husband’s favorite- graham cracker sleeves that never seem to get tied closed and like to live on the counter getting stale otherwise … :) It’s a bit large on the counter but it’s cute, and it works. The wood base is a little bit cheap, and wish it was a sturdier cutting board wood.

I purchased this cake dome based on reviews of people using it with three layered cakes and the 8" height. Be forewarned, the 8" height includes the base and the knob at the top of the dome. In reality you're not going to be able to fit any cake in there that is more than 6" at the absolute maximum. I think you'll have a hard time fitting a three-layer cake in under 6".
