I love tall, thin coffee mugs. This one is even taller than the one it is replacing which is great. It's pretty and gently reminds me to enjoy life each day, which helps to put daily stress in perspective. Now here's something I'd never considered about a coffee mug - - how it feels to hold. This mug is a little heavier, the handle a little higher and shorter than the old one and I'm having to adjust to it. Thankfully the mug’s message is a reminder to enjoy life and not sweat the small stuff which eases the pain enough to not replace it - yet... Before today I'd never be able to tell you how my hand wraps around the handle. With the old mug my thumb was on top, next three fingers around or through the handle, and the pinky or little finger was under it. With this mug, the pinky takes on too much weight. Ring finger has to assist pinky now. Pinky felt a little humiliated not being able to handle the handle bottom alone but she dreams of building up the necessary muscle to once again be able to do the job herself. It's a thankless job for ring finger as she knows her presence is not appreciated. She misses her teammates in the center, and longs to return to them, even though the spacious center spot they once resided in is now smaller. Who knows, they may not get along as well anymore. If ring finger is being honest, it's a bit of a strain for her as well being underneath the handle with Pinky. We shall see how it all plays out. Will I turn into one of those chilly looking women who cuddles her coffee mug with both hands? It's possible. Maybe the mug will feel more cherished being held with two hands. Maybe the smaller handle and heavier mug weight is there to assist the mug’s mission to make us enjoy life by being fully present with the coffee. Rather than using the other hand to click things online or pet one of my dogs while sipping, the coffee in hand(s) will get the full attention it deserves. Maybe I will think about the hard working laborers who picked the beans, and God for creating this miracle bean which helps us enjoy life so much more. Yes, I think two hands just might be the way to go. The fact that the mug has a lid is nice. That hasn't been tested yet though, I will update the review once it has. Does it seal well? Does it drip when you sip? These and other concerns will be addressed then. Until then, enjoy life and consider the handle before you buy. Well the universe solved my dilemma. The mug fell to the ground and broke into pieces. Oh well. On to the next one!
