ROBERTS 10-600 3/16" Crown, 120V, 15-Amp, 20 Gauge Electric Stapler with Carrying Case, Red

After reading reviews, I purchased this staple gun to jazz-up some plain counter height chairs in our nook/family room with some faux cowhide. I had only upholstered once before and had used a low priced electric stapler that had no power and just killed my hands and didn’t want to go through that again. I nearly went with an air driven model but didn’t want to have to purchase a compressor and have all that bulk. This Staple gun is amazing. It’s easy to use, load and has a real kick to it. The staple heads are smaller than others but they sure hold well. In fact, I really wouldn’t want to have to tear them out as they seem so secure. Fits nicely in your hand, no misfiring and where you aim is where it lands. Has a nice long cord also and came securely packaged with a good carrying case. I recovered the fronts of 6 chairs in an afternoon and most of that was removing the previous tacks and staples. This tool made it so easy and the way the head is shaped I could get into harder to reach areas. Looking around now for more projects as I’m looking forward to using it again! One Month later: I just used my Roberts Staple gun to recover a very large cornice board that I didn't take down off the wall and it was soooo easy! Even though I didn't have a lot of space to work around the top I was able to fire staples in at an angle and they hold so well. LOVE IT!

I should have bought this years ago.. It made carpetyng the stairs a breeze! Its not heavy but it is poweful! I would recommend this for Dyi projects like carpeting..or even if kitchen drawers are coming apart..staples are small and barely seen...

I've upholstered chairs before with a regular staple gun and had a lot of issues with staples not penetrating fully. I had no issues with this staple gun. I used this to install a new carpet runner on my stairs and it worked perfectly. Every staple went through this fairly thick carpet and into the stairs, no jams or any other issues. It's fast and powerful. Just be careful because there is no safety.

Positives: I bought this for upholstery projects on antique (very hard and solid wood) furniture. It goes through thick folds of fabric with no problem at all. After doing 7 chairs with tons of staples, it only misfired once (one staple came out funky, but it didn't go in very far and was easy to remove). It has been very reliable. It's very powerful and is great when you are doing the difficult corner parts of upholstery projects. We were even able to use it on a wood detail project on a piece of furniture on which we put solid oak trim. It stapled right through the oak with no problem. We had been considering buying a nail gun, but this thing actually did the trick! It fires very quickly and can handle pretty rapid succession firing, so you can accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. It's about a million times better than a regular hand-powered stapler. It's a real workhorse. Negatives: Beware--if you mess up, then that staple is basically impossible to remove. So, you have to make sure you know what you're doing. Also, regular hardware stores do not carry the staples (we went to 3 major hardware stores after I ordered the wrong ones online, based on what other people had ordered with this item on Amazon, so apparently we were the blind leading the blind). You have to be sure to get 3/16" CROWN staples. The crown is the width of the top of the staple, not how deep it goes in. I was able to order the right ones online through a specialty staple store. I bought DUO-FAST 5412C 20 gauge 3/16" crown, 3/8" deep staples, and they work well. You can buy longer staples if you need it to go in deeper. The instructions for the staple gun specifically recommend DUO-FAST staples. Obviously, you should unplug the machine while reloading staples for safety reasons. Enjoy!

I decided to make things easier for my puppy who was afraid of walking up and down my hardwood staircase by installing a carpet runner for him. At first I though I would use my heavy duty manual staple gun, but after reading many blogs and watching youtube videos on the subject, I changed my mind. I looked into renting this model from Home Depot, but it cost almost as much for a week to rent as the price of this to buy here. So I ordered this, along with the recommended staples. This arrived within 2 days (Yay Prime!) and I was so excited to get started. Unfortunately, the required staples, found only here on Amazon, took MUCH longer to arrive. When the finally got here, I got out everything and began installing. I can honestly say that this stapler is a GODSEND for anyone installing a carpet runner on their staircase!! I had two runners that had to be bound together, and they were a pretty thick persian style, plus I had a comfy pad underneath. Also, my floors were a hard oak that were laquered in poly. This staple gun punctured through it all EASILY! I never had one jam either! Please note that if you make a mistake, as I did on my first row of staples, it is pretty tough to get them out (I used needle nose pliers). You cannot even see where I stapled..looks so professional! It only took me about an hour to install the runner, all thanks to this stapler! After my puppy watched me install the runner from behind the gate, I opened it and he ran up and down the stairs, so proud of himself for doing the stairs. I was also proud of myself for installing the runner, which turned out beautifully!

Disappointed. This did not work for me when trying to install a carpet runner on stairs. Staples won’t go in deep enough and I’ve searched for videos or articles anything to trouble shoot and have come up with nothing. I even plugged directly into the wall vs using an extension cord. And tried to staple multiple different types of wood thinking maybe my stairs were too hard of a wood. But it doesn’t work anywhere! I bought the proper staples as required by the model/brand/gun. Maybe I got a dud? It’s disappointing!

Great stapler, costly, but the job is made easier by using the correct tools.

Purchased this stapler and it broke in less then 20 uses. Screws starting falling out the first couple times i used it then the part that drives the stapler just failed one day and never worked again.

This is an expensive one-trick pony, but if you’re self-installing carpet (especially on stairs) it will make the task easier.

After using it in a project and a half staples box ( small box ) a spring come out with a piece of metal and stopped working due to this issue . I don't recommend it. Save your money !
