Good quality dual purpose voice recorder and MP player for everyday use. Improved features over the previous version. Solid operation.

The recorder is quite a bit smaller than I expected, but feels high quality. There was a rattling noise inside which I fixed by opening the back (1 screw under a sticker) and re-sticking the battery to the circuit board. The audio quality is excellent and it picks up anything from shouting to whispers clearly. I've used it for 4-5 hours so far and the battery has only gone down 1 bar (about 1/5 of the way). The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. Once the system time is set, the files will be named like this: "YYYY-MM-DD-hh-mm-ss.WAV". Minor issues: 1. The manual doesn't clearly explain how to choose the recording source. When you have a microphone plugged in and start recording, a selection screen will pop up with "External Mic" and "Line In" as options. Both of them seem to do the same thing. 2. There is a 3 second delay recording to the internal memory, and a 9 second delay recording to the Micro SD card when it first turns on. The delay decreases to about 1 second for the internal memory and 3 seconds for the Micro SD card after the first recording. I recommend recording to the internal memory, since it takes less time to start recording. Overall, it's a great recorder for the price.

Registratore vocale e lettore mp3/wav/flac che ho acquistato perché volevo un lettore per ascoltare la musica senza guardare sempre lo schermo dello smartphone, ma cliccando solo i tasti fisici (utile quando sei a letto disteso). Poi la funzione A-B la adoro e trovo anche comodo impostare i segnalibri (fino a 10 per ogni traccia, registrazione o file audio in generale) per passare da un punto all'altro della traccia. Consuma poco, quindi dura molto la batteria. Il registratore è già fornito della schedina esterna inserita di 32 gb, registrazioni buone, ma senza tante pretese. È un dispositivo cmq delicato e magrolino, bisogna far attenzione all'umiditá e tenerlo in un posto asciutto. Trovo comodo anche il timer dello spegnimento e basta premere il pulsante su e giu per registrare e salvare la registrazione.

We just started using this recorder, but already it's clear that this device is well made and performs well. The main things to know: -- It takes a few minutes to work out how to record, pause, restart, save, play back, and delete... but really only just a few minutes. It's pretty easy to pick up quickly. -- The quality of the recording is sharp and clear, even without having to make any adjustments in the settings, like noise reduction or bitrate (I'll leave that to more tech-savvy minds to explain that second one). -- The design is great. It came as a surprise how small the recorder is, but it's in no way flimsy or lightweight. It is satisfyingly weighty and feels good in your hand. -- There are some excellent advanced features, which allow you to hook up other devices like MP3 players, and you can create a musical library as well as a voice recordings library. -- It's great for doing dictation, but it also appears to be especially handy and easy to use for long recordings, i.e. class lectures, interviews, etc. -- Though not included in the packing list, our recorder came with headphones which plug into the side of the recorder, which makes for discreet playback of your recordings. -- It connects through the USB port on your computer/laptop with its included cord, making it easy to import recordings. This cord also allows the recorder to charge up from the laptop or computer. All in all, it's a superb recorder, and I can't see a more expensive device doing a better job -- definitely there is excellent value for money here. There are two reasons why the recorder gets four stars instead of five: -- That connector cable from the recorder to a USB port is very short, less than eight inches. While this is ideal if you're setting the recorder next to your laptop or computer to share files, it's not practical for charging the recorder in a wall socket. It would've been great to have a longer cable included specifically for charging. -- When I tried to register the device at Evistr's website, I was able to create an account, but never could locate the option to register the recorder itself. More importantly, my computer alerted me that I was logging onto an unsecured website, so that was the end of me entering any of my information, and my visit to the website. So even if there is a warranty (I haven't seen any evidence that there is), our device isn't registered and won't be covered. Those two negatives are hardly game-changers, and I'm still overall quite satisfied with the purchase. I'm just going to go on faith that the recorder will work well for a long time... watch this space.
