Silky Professional BIGBOY Folding Saw 360mm Large Teeth (354-36)

I'll start by saying, I really like this saw so far. The longer blade is extremely useful if you intend to cut wood/branches that might be up to 8 inches or perhaps even larger. I would think much larger and you diminish it's efficiency but you could certainly cut larger sizes with more effort. Solidly made construction. the blade is thinner than I expected, as this is my first longer blade saw from silky. I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised since that is one of the trademarks of the Silky but I figured longer likely meant a bit thicker. The blade flexes easily, just by whipping it to the side a bit the blade will flex. Not a bad thing mind you, in fact, it's really a good thing, thinner means less friction, less material to remove on each stroke, hence more efficient use of your energy. The saw cuts like a machine, I got the large tooth blade as I intend to use it for larger sized cuts and use my smaller 240 for limbs and medium tooth precision cuts and sawing. which works very well. I can also confirm that I like the thin blade very much. I'm typically a bigger, thicker heavier is better kind of guy. Not in this case, I have not used it extensively yet but have knocked down several cuts on 4-7 inch diameter wood. The large tooth bite allows for a much faster cut than the medium so I am impressed and very happy about that. As is typical with most of the well designed saws, you really do not want to exert much force on the saw. In my experience thus far, I have had almost no binding or jumping unless you exert unnecessary force on the blade. It cuts well without it, just keep a nice line and rhythm and it cuts like butter. The thinner blade and that flex I mentioned earlier appears to help alleviate some of the conditions of binding which I really like and again, you are working to remove a smaller amount of material to make the cut so it is very efficient. I also like the 2 position capability, that comes in very handy and is a well thought out addition for functionality and ease of use. The one thing that would be a nice to have is a blade lock when the blade is folded back. The lock out is solid, would be nice to have a similar notch in the blade on the fold to lock it down as solidly in the folded position. The blade is extremely sharp, I have had a saw or 2 jump off track and take a bite out of my hand, you do that with this saw and you might be making a trip to the hospital. One last note, this is a cut on the pull saw, it does not cut in both directions. Would definitely recommend, I intend to use it for camping/bushcraft and well, it's intended purpose of trimming my larger trees around my property.

The Big Boy Saw is an amazing cutting tool. I purchased this after seeing it used on a video on Youtube - it Arrived very quickly from the seller, ( SHERRILLtree )who was fantastic with their communication and delivery - The Big Boy saw is constructed Very well, It locks when open, and will cut extremely fast through a variety of woods - it is a Pull saw, so you make cuts as you draw the saw towards you. I may buy another one to have as a backup saw - the teeth are INCREDIBLY Sharp, so be careful if you use this tool ! Get one today if you need to do any outdoor cutting !

Must Have! Survival/bushcraft, post apocalypse tool, camping, backpacking, Minimalism. Must have for All men, or all families. Love this thing! Light, compact, no machinery, no faling parts, no gas, idurable, Japanese Steel. I went with this brand because in the show Alone, this is the brand of folding saws they use to survive in the wild. Cuts really fast.

I purchased this saw based on a review by Survival Russia. I've used it extensively in trimming my trees. Cuts easily and doesn't get hung up. I recommend Silky's now to all my friends.

We carry this on horse pack trips as well as in our side by sides. It has come in handy several times where we encountered a fallen tree blocking a trail. The saw is intuitive to use, has VERY sharp blades and is easy peasy to cut with. The best thing is to be patient and let the saw do the cutting, nice long strokes where space allows, very little pressure. You'll cut a decent sized log (4-20") in no time - you won't even break a sweat. It is awfully expensive but in this instance I think you get what you pay for.

This saw is awesome!! I use it for snowmobiling, and it's perfect. Small enough to pack, but large enough and sturdy enough to go through large-ish trees when needed.

I love this saw. It is perfect for carrying along in the woods. The blade is super sharp and rips through branches and logs quick with little effort. The handle is very comfortable rubber material. The action to open the blade is like that of a pocket knife, where you press down on the latch to release the blade and to lock it into position. It is lighter than I expected which is always a huge plus. I wish I hade more funds to purchase more Silky products!! Great stuff!

Not used to the different action from a normal saw, I cut some logs down, to dry out for woodwork, my hobby table could be more stable. I placed one foot on the table, and did 2 hours of easy cutting. Cuts though a 5 inch log in 10 minutes, instead if 30 for my old wood saw, unfortunately, my stance gave me a bad back for the next 2 weeks, my fault, learn to use it before going mad.
