HVAC guys charge a ridiculous amount of money to replace these cheap items. One guy quoted $170?? Watch a YouTube video and you'll see it is easy to replace (just remember to turn the power OFF first). We have had this in the HVAC unit for quite a while now and all is running fine. Very happy with the purchase. Always match the serial number of the existing (faulty) one with the one you purchase to make sure the voltage and details align - and you'll never have a worry.

My A/C after 2 years was struggling in the Texas heat. Sometimes it wouldn't kick on, and the temperature would rapidly rise inside the house. I decided one day to change the capacitor with Goodman one and was originally hesitant because I don't like to do anything with electricity. However, it is a really easy change, and take some time and an insulated screwdriver, tools to remove your panel, and some nitrile gloves for extra insulation. It took about 15 to 30 minutes, so plan for a little bit of time to change out the capacitor, but it is one of the best things you can do for your AC if it's struggling!

Replaced the Original, still working 7 year old one with this Goodman (AmRad). It seems quieter and starts up smoother. I'll keep the old one for an emergency spare if I ever need it. I like the fact that the AmRad is made in the United States. I did notice the extra terminal on it that I didn’t need, so just be aware that the "common” terminal is in the center. You may not need the CPT terminal, so just leave it bare.

I needed a capacitor after my HVAC tech told me my existing one is at the end of life. Simple and cheap fix for a home owner who is mid level handy.

This is the part that needs replacing on residential central air conditioning unit the most. I learned my lesson watching an expensive repair on my AC years ago. Nowadays, instead of paying exorbitant service fees, the first thing I do is replace the capacitor. There are cheaper ones that will work but I do not advise, this one is not expensive but has been reliable working on my central air conditioning perfectly for years. If this fits your unit, I recommend it. If you plan to install this, it is very easy but you need to be careful and take steps to prepare. Read up on scores of information on the internet from pros on how to do that safely.

It was all good I just ordered the wrong size and had to return for another. But other than that perfect!

If you rely on your AC like those of us in the SW US, you have to have a capacitor and contactor that matches your units, in reserve. Watch a YouTube video on how to change them, and you'll save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Beyond those replacements, aside from simply washing the coils regularly, having a good AC company is a must.
