I got it because it will hold a paper pad in its outside clip firmly plus hold two extra spare pads plus my writing utensils inside the body. The only real con I see is the friction spring closer for the storage compartment door May either wear (after I’m dead and gone) or break off. To do that would require something severe. I take notes outdoors and need something rugged. I can see this outlasting my need for it.
