I am constantly in my head tearing myself apart. The advice in this book may seem obvious, but your subconscious needs to hear it (I mean, if it was obvious to my subconscious then I wouldn't still be beating myself up over that time I spelled ponies wrong in 1st grade and lost the spelling bee). I loved that the suggestions were small and easy to do. The exercises were great at helping me see patterns I didn't realize I had. Sometimes all it takes is that minute to stop and think to change your frame of mind. If you have a challenging relationship with yourself due to negative self talk, I recommend that you take a look at this book!

Wish it was longer
After the first few pages I was thinking I might regret the purchase, but it’s actually a decent book with sound exercises and advice. The self-promotion is a bit much (specifically the end of the book as there’s like 6 pages of it) but gotta get your name out there some how so it’s whatever. The author isn’t a doctor or specialist in mental health, just a regular person, so take the advice with that in mind.

Useful insights and “statements” for oneself to convert to...
I write about these same things as the author does. And I evaluate everything based upon its usefulness/effectiveness - the results that can and are likely to be harvested from the reading.I found the book to have several very useful exercises that were very doable (and fairly likely to be done). And there were some very useful insights that I will add to my repertoire.Bottomline, I would recommend that you read this book AND that you implement it. (It would probably be best to set up a notebook to keep everything accessible and referenceable, for continued use to the level of true mastery in this vital area.)Keith D. Garrick

An amazing book
It is easy to think negatively now when shorts /reels/ TikTok make us feel like everyone is so much better. I honestly started reading this book because I became addicted to social media and needed a pushback. Now I am more aware of the thoughts I create when watching shorts, and the thoughts I create when I read this type of book. Books like this one, worth to be read again and again as it helps with the self-development when scrolling on instagram is destroying it. Great book!

Okay for beginners
This book provides great insights on how to may attention to our self talk, but not so much on how to change our self talk and inner beliefs.

Practical tools included
I would recommend this book to those who have noticed the amount of their negative and harmful self-talk and are ready to taka action to change it. I have taken action before this book, and I found this as a good confirmation of what I have done and that I have done it the right way. I was happy to see that this book was based on research and how that research backed up the instructions and tasks given in the book.

Actually 4.5 Stars
I really like this book. Ian is well spoken and takes on an emotional subject (at least it can be) with respect and humor. He also gives the reader some excellent insights as to what we humans deal with inside our minds. Something that many people are completely oblivious to. I learned some good skills in improving my self-talk. Thanks Ian!

One of the best books I have read so far...!!!!
The book is perfectly right in choosing that title. It shows how to use Science to see self talk from a different perspective and then use it to help yourself. This book is for everyone. Even if you think you have it all figured out, still read this book. If possible, follow the exercises mentioned as well. The book presents ideas written on top of scientific experiments and that's really an effective way of looking at things.A very good read!!!

Great perspective on yourself
Thank you for publishing this book. Its made me more conscious of my self talk. The astounding thing is, Im 21 and I’ve noticed after reading this book this inner voice/character/person has been with me my entire life, recently its developed more and their voice is louder and much more influential on me. I didn’t realise, till I read this book, how important it is to cultivate/regulate my own self talk and Ive been able to analyse how my self talk has let me down in the past. I started my personal development journey about 2 years ago, started with the gym/tangible changes I could recognise. However, when it comes to working on your mindset, developing this inner character /intellect its a whole different ball game. I’ve been reading more on personal development, routine, masculinity etc and its all helped me grow my mind. Everything in this book has allowed me to have a refined perspective on myself. I really appreciate the knowledge, God bless you.

'Your mind is an instrument. Be like a musician and tune it often and well''its pretty weird. In fact sometimes you may even treat yourself the same way someone would treat you if they hated you'If you like these quetes you ll definitely love this book. I read it once in a few days ,but that's like a guide and you need to read that slowly ,day by day and practice everyday. I will read that again, just not in a few days.
