I have tested diamonds, lab diamonds, and moissanite, and sadly, this device detected all of them to be moissanite. The stones were wiped clean first so no oily residue could influence the reading. Sadly, and despite looking really good, this is not a reliable diamond tester...

I replaced an outdated diamond tester with this and I love it!! You need to read and follow the instructions carefully before you start. It takes a little practice to hold/use the tester correctly to get an accurate reading. It becomes easy and fun to use once you get the hang of it. Other testers I have tried before detected moissanites as diamonds. I picked this Gemoro tester for its reliability in distinguishing the two.

This product worked great right out of the box. Received it in 2 days. The diamond tester detected real vs fakes in a split second eliminating any guess work. One thing I like about this one is that is has the recharging station included plus the integrated moissanite and diamond tester in one unit.

So far great, still checking and testing unit.

Got the GemOro Ultra Tester II on time as promised. The tester works OK, but the tip cone indicator does not work. Sound and LED display is OK, so the main functions are intact. It is easy to use and carrying case is fine. No response from their customer service on the cone indicator issue. In my experience, OK product but quality control could be better.

I used this tester for all applicable vintage and designer jewelry. The tester always correctly identified the diamonds and sapphires. This time it detected moissanite on what was sold to me as one carat diamond incrusted earrings. I was able to return the jewelry and saved a lot of money.

Wouldn't turn on after charging and once unplugged Wouldn't turn on

used it once , and it worked just fine . took the batteries out and put away , came back to use it again after 3 months and it did not work with rechargeable or the regular AAA batteries . It does not charge the batteries , it only run with the USB cable ! . Very disappointed , don't know what do now .
