A Very Good Option for Remote Work
As with most Logitech products, these little speakers do a very solid job, in their specific swim lane. In this case these little โlaptop speakersโ do one specific job very well. If youโre looking for some crazy audiophile experience these are obviously not for you. If you have a practical everyday use in mind these may very well suit your needs. When I started working remotely full-time during COVID in March of 2020, I discovered that my work laptopโs speakers were ridiculously inadequate for everyday use, especially in Zoom/Skype calls. People have such varying mic quality that I was missing a lot in low volume call conversation. After picking these speakers up that is no longer an issue at all. Theyโre super easy to use, are very affordable for this application, and can get quite loud. The sound quality is also just fine, very clear even at louder volumes, but donโt expect a crazy music/bass heavy experience. But for something on the go, say for a home office, dorm room, or hotel visit, these will be great for you. Theyโre also a pretty good size for traveling in that way so you can reasonably do that. The only thing thatโs mildly unfortunate is needing both to plug the sound in via the attached USB cable as well as power to an outlet. It would have been more convenient to have power come through the USB which it is capable of, but itโs not a big deal, and is to be expected for speakers that can pack the volume/size that these do. If you manage your expectations these Logitech speakers will be a great choice.

Just what I needed
I used to have a 2.1 Logitech system. I had it for 2 years and then the left speaker finally blew. I wanted to find a pair of satellites to plug into my subwoofer so I could restore my 2.1 system without replacing the whole thing. 1. These worked. I plugged them into my sub and the disc control that controls the sub also controls the speakers. 2. The speakers don't sound bad. The highs and mids are decent. The bass isn't terrible but it's not good either. Thankfully, since these are plugged into a sub I don't have to worry about it. I know that not everyone who buys these has a sub to plug it into so I made sure to specifically listen to these without the sub first to see just how good/bad the bass is. For casual listeners these are good for music but if you like heavy bass you'll need to get a sub or buy more powerful speakers. 3. All the cables were long enough. 4. The build quality seems alright and they look nice. I don't intend on dropping them or anything but they look nice on the desk and they survived being shipped here with no issues. Cons 1. While the sound is really good for $12 speakers, they still fall into the sound quality of $12-$35 speakers. Obviously if you spend more you can get better fidelity, bass response, highs, lows, and mids. 2. The more you turn these up, the worse they sound. I keep mine at about 30% and use my sub's volume controls (it's one of those little volume boxes that sits on the desk) to control sound. They get loud but they also get muddy and distorted. Overall, for $12, these are amazing speakers. Like really, once you sit back and realize that you spent less on these than you did for a family of 3 at a fast food restaurant, it's really quite great. If these break I'll update my review but last pair of Logitech speakers lasted from February of 2012 until last week (13 months) so hopefully these bring the same kind of longevity...but again I'll update my review if anything goes wrong. Until then, this is a great $12 buy.

Great sound for a modest price
... and less wiring all about the desk than if a bass central unit were employed. By placing a pair of Logitech Z130 speakers on either side of the monitor, I'm using the monitor's tiny speakers as 'tweeters'. Locating the Z130's in the SAME plane as the monitor-base speakers results in a VERY pleasing wall of sound - without the stereo 'hole-in-the-wall' effect. I bring up the volume on the Logitech Z130's to match the monitor 'tweeters' volume, resulting in a VERY pleasing, full sound plane. It's most enjoyable to listen this way. When reading at the PC (often, for me), I don't want room-filling, wall-shaking sound - just a pleasing diversion from dead silence, sometimes. These Logitechs fill the bill perfectly. The bass, such as it is, is crisp and tight i.e. not boomy or poorly defined. Though not sure, I suspect that (and it looks like) they are using good polypropylene or mylar drivers to accomplish this crisp (not tinny), quality sound. Frequency response sounds reasonably flat with no obvious frequency peaks or valleys. The end result is that they sound NICE! ... a joy for the modest price. However, after a few weeks, listening at MINIMUM volume levels, the electronics started acting up. The Volume would be VERY loud from the left speaker. Turning them 'off', then back 'on' didn't help. After awhile, it might settle back to normal volume ... or maybe not i.e. the problem became inconsistent. When I turn them up to medium (12 o'clock) or 3 o'clock volume, they settle back to normal (for awhile). I considered that the connection or PC sound card might be failing; but, headphone listening from the same outlet eliminated that possibility. Since they were only ~$20, it was not worth bothering to return them. I've since discovered that, if I turn them 'ON' BEFORE playing whatever sound source, the electronics don't act up (as much, anyway). Used that way, they've been working; so, perhaps I was too harsh, rating them 2* ... and I've raised my rating to 4*; that seems only fair. When working, they REALLY sound remarkably crisp and well-defined ... without sounding tinny or harsh.

Excellent 2.0 personal desktop speakers
For $20 these speakers are legit. I've rated these based on their price-point, however, not on their sound output. PROS: + Volume Control on the speaker (Might be a con for some that prefer the remote. I don't like the remotes because it's just more wires). + Headphones jack on the speaker + Decent all around sound considering the price and wattage of these speakers. + definitely loud enough for a small bedroom/computer room for listening to music/games/anything on the internet, though it's not going to be a house party. I can hear these from a different floor. CONS: - A rather short cable to connect from your PC's output if your PC isn't on the same surface as your speakers. - Not much bass, but again, these aren't priced for that. - They sound rich (for what they are) at a specific close distance (Sitting at desk with speakers in front). They will sound much less rich from across the room (they will still be "loud" but it loses range/depth as you move away). OVERALL: If you're looking for something to have rich music and deep bass that will rumble your entire room or house and with good mids and highs, you should consider investing in some $100+ systems that accommodate it. If you're looking for something that is cheap in cost, but get the job done in a close personal space, these work incredibly well for the cost.

Excellent little computer speakers
Let me start by saying that I purchased these speakers with realistic (read, LOW) expectations. If I wanted deep, rich, powerful sound I would listen to the 1000+ watt Polk / Klipsch component surround system in my living room. What I DID want, were a pair of cheap, small, nice looking speakers for my office workstation so that I didn't have to use the horrid speakers on my monitor. I just needed something for very low to low volume music to make my day a bit less mundane. After a lot of research, I found these, that fit my needs perfectly: - Quite small and fit on my desk great - They look surprisingly good (I was worried they'd look cheap; not the case) and seem well made - They sound surprisingly good for what they are. They actually put out an impressive amount of sound for the wattage. - Nice volume control, and I like the forward-facing headphone jack (even though I'll probably continue to push my headphones with their own amp). The biggest issue I have with them is the power plug. It's the style where the enclosure of the plug is wide and runs perpendicular to the prongs, so if you were to plug it into a typical vertical wall outlet, it would be sitting horizontally. This isn't a big issue in itself, unless you want to plug it into a power strip. That means it takes up at least one extra outlet on the side that has the power cord (unless it's plugged into the end), BUT, it also is a bit wide out the other side. I'm not sure if I could fit another power plug of any style on the other side either, so this thing can effectively take up 3+ plugs in the typical surge protector. Not a great situation, but it didn't present an issue at my work computer station. Are these home theater speakers? No way. I don't even know that I'd buy them for heavy or moderate -volume listening on a regular basis... but again, that's not the reason I bought them. If you have similar needs as me, I really can't see how you could go wrong with these speakers, for the price. I'd have a hard time believing there is a better value out there. Any reviews less than 4 stars are more than likely people that had way too high (and highly unrealistic) expectations of a 5W / speaker, $15 setup.

Excellent set of compact speakers!
Logitech Z130 speakers arrived on time and in excellent condition. It's not often that I have enough similar products to run a comparative reveiw. However, in this case I have 3 pairs of budget priced, AC plug in, amplified speakers. These speakers are all offered by Amazon and Amazon Prime. In the order that I will review them, they are: the Cyber Acoustic 2.0 (CA2014), the Logitech S120 and the Logitach Z130. CYBER ACOUSTIC 2.0 (CA2014) PRICE: $11.88 BOOST: Very good. These spkrs. have the most amplification of the 3 sets reviewed, though there is some distortion at full volume. SOUND: Flat and tinny. Spkrs. have little or no bass and therefore are not a good choice for music, movies or TV. Voice does come through loud and clear so these might do well for classroom audio presentations. Remember, these are small spkrs., so they're not going to be adequate for a really large area. MISCELLANEOUS: The separate on-off switch is a nice touch CONCLUSION: Though the spkrs. do work, these units seem to have the least quality applications of the three sets tested. LOGITECH S120 PRICE: $12.49 BOOST: Good. While the amplification is not as great as the Cyber Acoustic spkrs., the S120's still work well for most applications. SOUND: Very good. Seems to have the most accurate sound reproduction of the three sets. Little distortion. MISCELLANEOUS: These spkrs. are rather narrow which can be handy for tight spaces, but can also tip over easily. I wound up using Velcro to keep them stable. CONCLUSION: A very nice, inexpensive set of amplified speakers for all around use LOGITECH Z130 PRICE: $19.70 BOOST: Very good. The Z130s have almost or as much amplification as the Cyber Acoustic spkrs. The difference is that that CA spkrs. has most all of its boost on the treble side, whereas the Z130s boost is spread between bass, mid range and treble. SOUND: Very good. The Z130s have basically the same qualities as the S120s, except the Z130s are louder and have a little more bass. MISCELLANEOUS: Though small, these spkrs. are very attractive and have a wide base, which makes them very stable. CONCLUSION: I have tried the Logitech Z130 spkrs. on TVs, computers, tablets and MP3 players, and though these spkrs. do cost a few dollars more, I believe these are the best of the three sets of spkrs. tested.

Stopped working after 6 months, so not reliable
This is a great and reliable medium priced brand and I have a few items from Logitech, including a camera and other speaker sets. My issue with this product is 1 of the 2 speakers stopped working after about 6 months. I tried unplugging and plugging in again, even contacted tech support but no help there either. I will try another Logitech product but not THIS set of speakers for my PC. Once again I support Logitech products in general. Please don't buy these.

Far better speaker than those LED BLINKY, CHANGING ULTRA COLORS out there!
I got a new computer recently, put together (built) by a good friend, and it's apparently a "gaming computer", with COLORS. It illuminates COLORS. I can change the colors, I can turn off the colors, it still kind of 'illuminates' from inside. Kinda creepy, it's like someone or some thing is working inside there, I have to pause and keep reminding myself, "it's supposed to do that." For speakers for my computer, I thought it would have been cool to have speakers that had LED lighting on them, that changed colors as the computer does, too. WRONG! NOT GOOD! Firstly, let me tell you: all the color-changing thing, may be 'cool' to you, but it's annoying to me. Secondly, having a CPU that has "coloration" to it is one thing, it can be under my table where the colors don't bother me, but having speakers on my table that changes colors......those speakers were returned to where they came from. I had thought that the more fancy speakers would have sounded as cool as they looked. That was wrong, too. They sounded like I was using paper-towel tubes on my ears to listen. I took a gamble at ordering THESE speakers, they are LogiTech and I've never had any issues with anything from this company: not from keyboards, mouses, WebCams, speakers, nothing! It's a shame they don't make the speakers I had before, they were just like this set, only they came with a subwoofer that fit ever so perfectly under my computer desk. (I loved it when the bass would engage, I got a nice foot-massage!) Anyway, these speakers I thought I'd give them a try and if I didn't like them I would return them. There's no returning these, they sound very nice, clear enough, and "comfortable enough" for my intents and purposes. They aren't Cerwin-Vega (from the mid-90's, remember those?), but for the price and the quality, these are perfect for my needs and I'm very pleased that I have these now. STAY AWAY FROM LED-CHANGING-COLOR-SPEAKERS! Just sayin'...

Excellent speakers
I've had these since 2015 and they're still going strong! Very compact, sturdy, and good sound quality. I'm no audiophile but they always deliver a strong, clear sound. Highly recommended. Edit: Yes cables are a bit on the shorter side but it works fine in my space. An extension would be a welcome solution though.

They're OKAY and well worth what I paid.
Got these on a refurb and I'm glad I did. I wouldn't pay 70 bucks for them but they're fine for my little girl. For 20 bux I can't complain. My daughter was delighted that the light was not orange but green. The sound is okay but do not nearly have the bass that the old 30 dollar fourteen year old Creative Soundblasters (approx same size) still running on my other daughter's PC. These Logitechs do sound a bit tinny but not so much as other 30 dollar speakers I've heard. I'm happy with what they can do and the price. The rate features listed here don't allow me to do these speakers justice. For design I'd give them 5 stars. So many speakers in this genre don't allow for a good firm place to plug in head phones but these ones do and the volume control works with the headphones well. At the refub price I'd buy them again.
