Rebuild Kit, Lower Body, The Pool Cleaner 4-Wheel

Worked perfectly. Was able to upgrade my older 2 wheel version to this 4 wheel version. Saved me a lot of money as I was considering a new one. Definitely would recommend to anyone that needs or wants to upgrade. Just unbolt the top works of your existing unit and bolt on to this unit. Pool is much cleaner as this hits the shallow end better than the 2 wheel version.

Grate deal this lower body rebuild kit is all you need to get your older pool cleaner doing a perfect job again . Very simple to remove the existing lower body and install the new one . don't buy a new pool cleaner you'll save big time with this rebuild kit over purchasing a whole new poll cleaner

My replacement seems durable, and has been working great for 6 months. Hasn’t come out of the pool. If you get ANY Amazon replacement 4 pack of tires, cut the nubs off the back tires if it has them, or they won’t work. Comes basically with everything but tires and the covers you use off the old one. Easy and fast to replace. I believe 4 screws was all mine had. It’s very easy to do, but instructions make it look way complicated, I want to say? If you understand what I mean?

Old "The Pool Cleaner" unit lost directional ability and kept going in circles and stopped climbing the walls this year. Despite some very negative comments in the reviews, I purchased this item. I am pleasantly surprised with it. Easy to install and worked right out of the box without any problems. I have used this replacement for 4 months and still am pleased. Unit now climbs the walls as it did years ago and keeps the pool/walls 95% clean - the only things I need to brush are the stairs and sitting shelves. Parts I needed to take from the old unit were minimal: flaps, tires. Assembly took about 20 minutes. Original unit purchased in 2016 and this is the first time I needed to do maintenance other than changing tires. Would recommend.

If you already have a poolvergneugen/Hayward phoenix/etc & it's acting up to the point you're considering buying a new one, stop and get this instead. Unless you've somehow broken the top cover plastic where the hose connects, this product plus a new set of tires and 5-20 minutes work gives you a functionally as-new poolvergneugen for around a third the price of a whole new unit. This is everything but the top plastic cover, the plastic skirts on the bottom, and the tires. New tires and new skirts are both available for cheap if you need 'em, and this unit replaces everything that the skirts and tires attach to. I reused my skirts, no problems, but IMO remove the throat piece from both your old part and the new part before swapping skirts. The insructions don't mention that, just says "pull hard to remove middle skirt" but IME that's a lot easier when the throat piece is detached and detaching the throat piece is easy (press the tabs on either side of it and it'll slide out). I like the all-white-plastic wheels it includes (NOT tires, the rubber is NOT included), the original blue wheels bleach unevenly under our Arizona sun so this is an aesthetic improvement. This is a Hayward original part delivered in original packaging. Works perfectly. We own/maintain several of these units so as long as y'all offer this product at a good price, we'll be repeat customers. So far the item was easy to install and works great. I'm not giving 5 stars as I have only had for 2 weeks. This is awesome alternative to buying a complete new cleaner.

I’ve been keeping my old 4 wheel pool cleaner functioning with new parts as needed but I knew the main gearing was getting worn. This year it wouldn’t move at all when we opened our pool and hooked it up. I pulled it and took the cover off so I could make sure there wasn’t a blockage. The main gearing was just just too sloppy so I started making a list of the parts needed so I could price out replacements. During the online search I found this replacement lower unit, score!! It not only was cheaper than the list of individual parts, it was already assembled and just needed a few parts from the old unit to be complete. You need to pull off the front and rear flappers plus the tires (check the tread and replace if too worn). The top shell slides on and the three screws fasten it. The instructions are good, the unit fits and best of all I had a brand new Pool Cleaner charging around our pool again sweeping up everything in sight!

Brought my unit back to working like new!
