Hi, great product but it has a whistle sound thats annoying me, any way to fix?

Through the speakers I'm assuming. Generally I'd try it with different speakers, but it could be a bad unit. It sounds like interference.

How do you apply thermal paste to the mosfets? Does it require desoldering or is it just a screwdriver task?

Just a couple of screw drivers. Unscrew the silver phillips head screws on the front and back of the amp to permit you to remove the circuit board. Also unscrew the bigger black phillips screw on the side. That holds the clamp that braces the mosfets against the heatsink. When you pull out the board, you'll have access to the chip to apply the thermal paste.

How would I wire this for power in a truck since it only comes with the household plug?

The Product Description clearly states that it IS intended for automotive use! You DO NOT need an inverter; the unit runs on auto voltage; it has a power adapter which takes the 120 AC house current down to 9 to 14.4 DC. Just throw away the power adapter which comes with it and wire it directly to your vehicle (12-14 DC).

Could you power this amp by just the usb port? if i plug it into my computers usb port will it power it?

Actually, the amp's USB port is a 5v powered outlet for another device. In my application, I use it to power the stereo's bluetooth module. The amp itself requires 12v from either the included AC adapter or a 12v battery. Hope this helps.
