Instead of being a fool, I will answer your question.  This particular yagi/LPDA MAY get a few of the stations in purple- tropospheric conditions will wildly vary your reception on the fringe or 1-2 edge channels.

Question 2

Want to install in the attic. Do I need to aim the long axis of the antenna in any particular direction?

Accepted Answer

Go to TVfool.com and enter your street address. You will see a map of all the TV transmitters in your area. Aim the antenna at the stations you want. You may need to add more antennas to point in different directions so get a tall mast on your roof, at least 5-6 feet tall. Either use a splitter to combine all the coax cables from the antennas into a single coax to go to your TV set. Or you can use twin-lead TV (ladder line) to connect the antennas together at the same point where you connect the 75 ohm Balun transformer (2 wires on one end, a female F connector for the coax on the other end). This will eliminate the signal loss that a coax splitter would introduce into your antenna system.

Question 3

What color zones is this antenna rated for? Why is this so hard to find out except for ChannelMaster?

The box says “yellow, green, light green, red” for the zones.

Question 4

Stupid question:  If I put this in the attic and my splitter is in the basement (which runs to 5 tv sets), do I need to run the cable to the basement?

Accepted Answer

It should be Antenna > 300 to 75 Ohm Balun >short high quality quad shield coax >amplifier > 50 ft coax to basement or wherever >into splitter > splitter to TVs. The amp should be as near the antenna as possible, the splitter should be equadistant from all TVs. You don't want the amp on the far end because you amplify all the noise picked up along the cable run and pipe it to the TVs. You also save money on cable, so you can buy the best cable possible. Make sure the whole system is grounded properly too.
