CATSAN Natural

Fantastic litter. Great moisture retention,easy to clean, doesn't have any bad smell. Perfect for my cat's little paws, she likes it a lot. Only downside is the price,but it does last ages,so it's all good.

I was sent the Natural Clumping as a replacement for my usual Catsan which was out of stock, and am impressed so far. It's like small semolina grains and though it does track, it tracks far less than the previous granular Catsan Wood Comfort sawdust litter. The cats seem very happy to use it.The clumping and absorbency is excellent! I've found it easy to scrape off the bottom and sides of the tray, and a sharp tap gets it off the scoop. But I clean the trays several times a day. I can imagine if the tray was cleaned less frequently, it could be like scraping cement so it may not be suitable for someone who can only clean the tray daily. As it clumps strongly meaning all the urine is removed, I expect it will go longer between complete tray changes compared to the non-clumping sawdust which despite scooping gets smelly in a few days.Only given 4 stars as I'm not sure how long the bag will last, and it's very expensive! I'm considering switching, but at twice the price of my existing litter, it's a huge extra spend on our already very costly little furry purries.Upgraded to 5* as this stuff lasts and lasts! Scooped twice daily and topping up as needed, it's now over four weeks since my last litter tray change and there is zero ammonia odour.

Before listing the Pros and Cons below, I will say I have bought this again since I'm willing to keep experimenting on how to counteract the negatives and my cat seems quite happy with it. She's very fussy about smelling her own previous "work" but seems to like this, so I may as well stick with something she is alright with.Pros:+ Absorbs and clumps well and quickly.+ Natural.+ Not very dusty.+ Pretty good odour control, enough that my fussy cat does make me replace the whole box of litter every day, I just clean out twice a day and top up. Total refresh every 7-10 days.Cons:- Can get a gluey consistency with urine and stick to the box. Use a paper or compostable liner and it's fine to clean up.- Very trackable as the grains are small and stick in my cat's paws.

I started using this when Natusan closed down. It seems identical to Natusan wheat. The relationship between the 2 companies - one bought the other - makes me think it's all the same stuff, so if you were OK with Natusan wheat, you'll be fine with this.It clumps like no other. The clumps are firm and don't break up, even if kitty has a dig round in the tray later. We sometimes have splat issues, and this copes with them well.I pick my trays out several times a day and have no issues with stiction. I think this only occurs if you leave the clumps in the tray and they dry out and adhere to the tray. Solution is to pick out the tray every day.When your cat poos, the effluvium will enter the atmosphere and no litter will stop that. But some litters do pong after a few days even if they are picked out. But every drop of odour-emitting pee/poo seems to be to captured in the clumps, and I have had no issues with this litter smelling.

This cat litter proved to be quite problematic right from the start. One of the most noticeable issues was the excessive dust it produced. It created a dusty cloud every time I poured it into the litter box, making the whole process messy and unpleasant.Even more concerning was how the litter behaved when my cat urinated in it. Instead of clumping effectively, as the product claims, it turned into a dense clay-like substance. This made scooping and cleaning the litter box a laborious and frustrating task. It didn't provide the convenience or odour control I expected from a clumping cat litter.The strong odour emanating from the litter box was also a concern. Despite the product's promises of odour control, it fell short in this regard. The unpleasant smell lingered, and I found myself needing to clean the box more frequently to combat it.Additionally, the 20-litre bag didn't seem to last as long as I had hoped, given the frequent need for replacement due to its poor clumping performance.In conclusion, the Atsan Natural Clumping Cat Litter proved to be a subpar choice for my cat's litter needs. Its excessive dust, inability to effectively clump, and inadequate odour control left much to be desired. I would not recommend this product to other cat owners, as there are far better options available that offer superior performance and cleanliness in the litter box.

I've been ordering this cat litter for a while and whilst I highly recommend the product (worth 5 stars, it's extremely absorbant, easy to scoop, very little wastage), it is often sent without any additional packaging and arrives damaged. On some occasions I have been able to refuse delivery, but this is not possible when it's delivered by Royal mail.

After building work my cat has lost her cat flap and is using litter again. Ugh! Dust, mess and that scratching! Capstan Natural clumping litter was recommended by Which? as being one of the best biodegradable litters, so we've tried it. I recommend it. The clumps of wee can be extricated in one interesting lump and poo is easy to scoop. It does need to be deep so we do get kicked crumbs around the tray but these are easy to brush and vacuum. Its pricey but the litter lasts really well. One downside is the damp litter can stick to the tray and needs a good scrape to clean. Keep the stuff deep though and refill the clumps - all good! And it's not so noisy.

Excellent cat litter clumps really well and doesn’t fall apart nice smell,good value for money,medium dust level

Cons:- cats hate this litter;- doesn't absorb scent well;- sticks to the paws and fur;- clumps break into small pieces;
