Better Than The Rest at Half the Price!!!!
Here is the deal with these headphones. They are the best u can get for the $100-400 price range. At this price u have to be a fool not to buy them. They sound better than the Bose, better than the Beats and better than almost any headphone u compare it too. The sound is different. Marshall sounds like you went to a small club with about 50 people and heard a live band with a excellent sound system. When listening to music you hear every instrument so much clearer than ever before. The best way to describe it is the music sounds real not computerized. Beats u get great bass but very little treble. Bose u get the complete opposite. Bose need to realize people like bass in their music as well. But the Marshall has this rumble bass that's great. And you can still hear the treble. The build quality is totally there. The design and look is incredible. The best part is no one is really rocking them b/c their trying to be kool with the beats. But Marshall blows them all away. And with them being around for so long their not going to just put out junk to make money. I really do wonder if dr dre uses his own headphones since they are made for the masses. But Marshall headphones have one big flaw. They are very comfortable. The ear ups are to small. I have them And really like them and I'm incredibly happy that they sound better than earphones double to triple their price. But I can't listen to them more than 30 mins b/c the ear cups are to small. I spend so much time trying to adjust the ear to a comfortable position. But when the cups are too small no amount of adjusting will help. So now I'm forced to give them to my wife. And purchase another brand until Marshall realizes their mistake. Why make earphones so small? Just a little bigger and they would be perfect. And no I do not have big ears. If u have small ears then go for these. You will save a ton of money and have some of the best earphones on the market. Edit I have just recently returned from Best Buy. After having my earphones for a couple days I wanted to compare them again to Bose and Beats. I was shocked at just how much better Marshall was. Marshall is years ahead of them both. Music with the Marshall sound very authentic and real. Its the difference between eating home cooking or a chain restaurant. I also realized that although the ear cups are small my left ear sticks out farther than my right which caused discomfort with the earphones. I had the same slight discomfort in the same ear when wearing Beats. So you just have buy them and try it out. As a side note I just noticed the other day that although these headphones are not noise canceling with a person talking right next right to me with the headphones on I can't hear a thing their saying. The cupping nature of the headphones must have something to do with this. And no I am not blasting the music it's just that the headphones really block out extra sound. Also don't listen to those reviewers saying the build quality is suspect because it's great! I constantly throw them in my backpack with not case and they just keep ticking.

Great headphones with the classic Marshall look and feel.
I first saw these at Best Buy and was instantly hooked on the look. I already had a nice set of headphones, but had to have these. To be honest, I am not an expert by any means in headphone design or sound other than my own experience, but here are my thoughts as an extremely satisfied casual buyer: Design: As stated before, the look of these is incredible, no flashy/obnoxious colors or logos, just the classic Marshall logo and look. These are solidly built and easily adjustable. The cord is sturdy and I really like having the coiled section that keeps the headphones from being yanked off if I move around and forget to unplug. The cups fit snugly and are very comfortable for short and long term use. The only negative I have for design is the carry case. It is fabric with drawstrings, keeping in mind the carry case provided is not wimpy by any means, it will last, but a hard protective case would be preferred. Sound: The headphones come with a removable filter that gives you 2 sound options. With the filter in, it has a softer slightly dampened sound. I actually use this option when listening to audio books. Gives it a nice calmer feel. For music I take the filter out for more detailed sound. The headphones are not noise canceling but I have no complaints about their ability to block sound out. By the way, I keep these locked in my safe so my teenage son doesn't steal them, he has a pair of Beats but is constantly looking for these. He is currently deciding if he wants a pair for Christmas.

I'm picky and did lots of homework, very happy with these
After evaluating lots of headphones in the $150-$250 range I realized 'value' is very subjective and depends highly on what kind of music you listen to and what kinds of environments you listen to it in. A lot of what I read made it pretty clear that, in the sub-$400 range at least, noise cancellation is not worth shooting for. I also read a lot of opinions that certain "popular" brands though pricey don't always deliver on quality. I'm looking at you Beats/Bose. Also, since the latter is a competitor of my company I couldn't see supporting them with such a valuable purchase. The other thing that makes this hard is that there isn't really anywhere you can go to compare several brands from the same source to listen for quality. The Apple store has a couple brands including several Beats options but the only ones that impressed me were much more expensive. Even at Best Buy, which is where I discovered these Marshall's they have several different listening stations with varying degrees of functionality so it's difficult to do an apples to apples comparison. I needed something that would do a good job of isolating external noise as my workplace is dynamic and I don't always 'listen out loud'. Also, I fly somewhat often and wanted something that would do a decent job killing airplane noise. I didn't even know Marshall made headphones but when I saw their display I was excited because they have a long and respected history in the audio business. Also, their display was well done as I could try a few items in their line with several songs I really love such as Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. The feel of these is very solid even though they fold up. The foldable design is great for traveling and even my commute where these live in my backpack. The dual jacks on either side are awesome and the fact you can daisy chain another set of headphones from these make it great for companion travel. What a great idea! The ear cups are comfortable yet secure, and though for the first few hours of use they seemed a little snug now that I'm adjusted they're just right. The sound is excellent whether I'm listening to FLAC audio or streaming music on the go. I could say a lot more but it's sufficient to say I'm extremely happy with the audio quality, I can tell a big difference over the other Marshall models and definitely over other brands at this price range. I ended up buying on Amazon as the price was markedly less than in-store. Packaging was sweet and I felt proud to wear these and even display the cool box on my desk at a company where we make audio gear. Bottom line: It's the big thing - Audio quality - and the little things such as the dual jacks, portability, in-line mic/play-pause button, optional inserts for tweaking the sound, and even the carrying case that sold me on these above all the others I checked out. My only gripe is that the mic/play-pause button does not let you adjust the volume as you might expect. I knew this before buying but it would be a wise addition to future models and these have just about everything else going for them. That's the only reason I rated these 4 starts rather than 5. I definitely recommend these if you care more about quality and subtle design than you do having an eye-catcher on your ears.

Best quality headphones ive tried
Tried about 6 different headphones and these came out on top for me. Had to return them and get the monitor 2 because i didnt realize these were not bluetooth, but i plugged them into an old ipod and the sound quality is the best ive found. Theyre very cool looking, and they are comfortable even after 6 straight hours of wearing them. They get very loud and the battery life was great! Also love that they fit snugly against your skull vs other bulky goofy looking headphones. Another cool feature is the ear cups are held onto the headphones with magnets so you can take them off to clean them and pop them right back on. And when not in use, i kept them on my neck and the earcups fold inward so they sit flat against your chest instead of just being bulky and hanging there. The only difference between these and the monitor 2 is that the monitor 2 are wireless using bluetooth to connect to my phone. If you dont mind the wire, grab these for sure

The headphones are great, good fit
The headphones are great, good fit, the sound quality is amazing, but the whole chord design is not ideal. The chord broke after I had them for less than a month and it doesn't come with a spare one. They cannot be order from amazon or the Marshall website so this a nuisance, it is not easy to find the exact same chord design. The chord has to be removed every single time you take them off and it this doesn't work effortlessly either, since it is designed in order to hold the chord tightly so that it doesn't get loose accidentally.

it's fine. I've taken out the filters because I want ...
Pros: The sound & design exceed my expectations. The additional headphones jack is a neat feature! I've shared my music with numerous others, but I haven't seen how the volume translates to the next headset. The bass is superb. The trebles are clear, but definitely set back in comparison, but for my listening, it's fine. I've taken out the filters because I want the treble to be louder; the bass is plenty intense without the trebles and mids being even slightly muddled - very cool feature though. The headphones are tight and comfortable. I like their slim fit close to the head. The isolation is fantastic and the other reviews are right: they get very loud with no noticeable distortion. Additionally, the sound does not escape. Cons: The dangling mic is ineffective every time I try it due to its hypersensitivity to ambient noise. Also, unfortunately there is no pause, back track or track skip buttons on the headphones. These two drawbacks do not equate a star comparably to the other features, though. Overall: I got a used pair (one week returns) for $60+shipping=worth it. They're brand new with exception of the packaging, but I didn't buy these for the packaging. P.S: When I first got them I was afraid to damage the cord by pushing it completely into the headphones. It felt secure just half way in, but (obviously) they sounded incomplete. Please ensure the entire jack is encased by its input, otherwise you're being too cautious. P.S.S: This review is coming in almost three weeks after receiving them in the mail. I'll report back when they break, but I don't expect to be reporting back before the end of the year ... or three for that matter.

Premium Sound, Great Price
I was immediately drawn to the sound! Warm, gritty, a bit kick. I love the sound of Marshall amplifiers in live shows so this makes sense. The sound delivery improves for all volume ranges when paired with a headphone amplifier. I use these with my computer to listen to a broad range of music and podcasts. These do quite well across many genres of sound but I particularly like what they do with some of the rock, country, and blues music I hear. These are not neutral representations of the artist's work—they bathe the sound with warmth and a touch of grit. Build quality is superb. I purchased my original pair in 2014 and used them nearly every day for six years. In that time I've only replaced the ear cups and got a new cord. The sound is still impeccable. Fit and finish are great. I've been able to wear them comfortably for hours at a time. I recently purchased a second pair since I'm working at home more often. One thing I truly appreciate is the dual headphone input. With my work computer, the audio source is to my right. On the home setup, the sound source is from my left. These headphones accommodate both without the cord being in the way. The star rating asked for noise cancellation, I'm taking that for meaning noise isolation as there is not an active noise cancellation feature.

The truth
I really wanted to like these headphones and I do to an extent. First of all that cable is amazing, one of my favorite headphones cables ever. The sound on these is.. Good. Actually better than was I expecting but you have to take the filters out otherwise it's too bassy. What killed these headphones for me was the comfort. They are barely over ear and I have small ear size for almost all headphones. They have a surprisingly decent level of noise isolation but the comfort is what killed them for me. I really couldn't wear these comfortably for anymore than an hour. The pads are decent and the build quality is decent but after just around 2 weeks the hinge mechanism was definitely having its issues. The headband although decent looking never quite was enough for me. I hope Marshall comes out with something more over ear because like I said, the sound quality on these is very well done especially for only ~100$. Until then, ATH m40x most likely.

Dead on arrival
Received the headphones today and tested. The sound quality was absolutely horrible with and without filter. Returned them back.

Alta qualidade

Amazing audio quality
I use these headphones for general use on my PC, as well as piano practice. The audio quality is amazing, I hear instruments in songs and sounds in Internet videos I did not hear before. The headphones are of high quality and lightweight as well. I’m very happy with this purchase!

Great sound, collapsible, portable and not bulky!
I like the sound on these, some say it's a bit much bass so maybe it's not totally natural but I don't think it's excessive either. Great price (saved half from retail store in Canada). Best thing for me is it's very easy to take on a trip since it's collapsible (that's important fitting into a camera bag with lots of other equipment). I also agree with others- they are a bit tight out of the box, you can stretch them out by wrapping them around the box they came in over night a few nights. Then they are comfortable and for me they go around the ears not touching, I like that because pressure from headphones bother me. And they are sleek!

After a week of use. Full review.
Had these for a week or so now. After owning a pair of sennheiser hd-25 11 I was dubious to whether these would match up. Below I've reviewed each part. (I've been using the headphones mainly with my mobile phone as a the music device and listening to a range of music from hiphop to house/dubstep). Collapsible construction. Folds very well, the metal hinges seem like they will not loosen with time. Very good portability, fits well in any small bag. Dual cord imput. Works fine with two pairs of headphones, I did notice a slight reduction in volume when you connect a second pair of headphones which is to be expected given the single device powering it. Nevertheless, the sound was more than adequate. Ideal if someone near you wants to check the track you're listening to. Sound (In comparison to sennheiser HD-25 11). I have to say I wasn't expecting this to be any better but the sound on these definitely out does sennheiser. It's slightly more punchy with a deeper bass which isn't over powering. However, on bigger house/dance tracks the sennheiser's sounded slightly cleaner. This may be partially attributed to the fact that Marshall pride themselves on the instrumentals as opposed to the heavy DJ world. Overall though, These headphones have incredible sound. F.T.F system (the optional felt inserts that come with the headphones). At first I didn't notice much difference between with the inserts out and in, however after listening to a variety of tracks I did find that the F.T.F inserts were actually hiding certain instruments in some tracks. Marshall argue you have some treble change with the F.T.F inserts but I would argue they mainly just flatten the given song out a bit, so I've opted to using them without as the sound is cleaner and crisper. However, you might find that the F.T.F system provides some benefit with some tracks. Weight. If you're used to having sennheisers or indeed most other headphones you'll notice a significant weight increase. It doesn't seem to be a problem or make the headphones uncomfortable which is surprising. In fact due to the solid design of the headband I would say it feels more sturdy. Earcups. Can't really say anything else but the fact that they fit perfect, completely cups the ear and doesn't feel uncomfortable even after prolonged use. Microphone & wire control Works a treat, answering calls works immediately and sound is very clear, you'll have no problem hearing someone talk. In terms of pausing/playing music, this worked across programs, i.e on spotify, soundcloud or if you play it direct from my music device.
