How tall is it from the lip?

My best guess, without going out to measure, is about 5" high.

Can this be buried or covered with bark? Or does it have to stick up above the ground?

I have ours about half covered with rocks, not bark. The openings are big enough to let twigs, needles, etc in and it can plug up quickly. Even with ours surrounded by rocks, the pine needles still got in and plugged the drain. The drain itself is fine but I think it would be better if you can install it with most of it above ground.

I have a 7.75" flat cover(draintech 1080sdb) that clogs. need an an atrium or domed one that will fit. any ideas?
