Perfect Fitness Crunch and Sit Up Training Assistant

I cannot put this together. The pieces don't slide together easily and, as a small woman, I'm not strong enough to force them. I will see if my son can do it but am so disappointed that I may have to return it. Update: I returned this and was sent a replacement that I was able to assemble. Product is great and easy to use. Its been months and my core is much stronger.

This ab cruncher is such a major upgrade from my old one. It’s incredibly easy to use, lightweight, and very comfortable on my head and neck. I started with 100 crunches on my very first use and felt supported the entire time. No strain, no pressure, just smooth movement. I love how portable it is too. I can absolutely see myself traveling with this. It’s perfect for my daily 15-minute ab routine, especially since I enjoy doing my workout first thing in the morning. It makes the whole experience feel effortless and motivating. The only con was the assembly at first. I had to take a short break because it wasn’t immediately obvious how to put together. But once I found the helpful tip to assemble the frame first and then slide the mesh on, everything came together in about 10 minutes. After that, it was spot on. Honestly, this is a fantastic design. It works with great ease and feels so much better than my previous one with the solid headrest. The difference is night and day. The struggle used to be real, and now it’s actually enjoyable. I’m very impressed and very pleased. This was a much-needed replacement and a big improvement for my ab workouts.

I had one years ago and it was a pain to put together but once built it was very solid. They seemed to have made minor adjustments because building it was a lot easier in terms of the fabric portion. Downside is it feels a bit wobblier than i remember. But it can still handle my weight and I am over the 220 pound weight limit, as long as it's on hard surface. With yoga mat underneath it is very wobbly for dips and rows. Overall this thing is amazing for days you can't get to the gym. It functions exactly like the previous one I owned and it gave me great results using it a few times a week. I know some people dont like how big it is but seeing it in the corner of your room just makes you want to do some dips.

I was a little hesitant about buying ANY of the ab crunch machines I saw advertised here on AMAZON, mostly becasue the reviews for each device were from one extreme to the other. Back in the 1990's I had a similar device and it encouraged me to do more sit ups/crunches just by the fact it was there in my bedroom and I could knock some out of the way in the morning before work, after work, before dinner, etc etc. I ordered this on a Friday night and it arrived early Sunday. All the parts inside the box were securely fastened, so there were no jingles of things clanking around in there. Putting it together was a bit of a challenge. There is a guide, but I think if little adhesive numbers or letters were on each part (which could be removed once fitted) would make things a bit simpler. Also, the mesh neck/head fabric needs to be stretched in order to fit the second tube after the first is attached. If the manufacturer had the mesh fabric slide over the tubes after they were attached, either by strong velcro some other technique, putting this together would have been a bit more simple. It's a bit larger than the one I had back in the 1990's and it's quite comfortable to use. I feel that it's pretty solid, but not solid enough to do dips. It's primarily for ab crunches, so don't expect to get a full upper body work out with this thing. All in all, this will help isolate your abs when you are doing crunches. EDIT: I have used this device for dips and it's very stable. I'm 164 pounds so use that as your guideline. We have a rubber gym matted floor so make sure you have some base where the device won't slip! EDIT. Wow! Looking back at my review for this in 2021. Today is July 7, 2022. I now hover between 148 - 151 pounds and can easily do 500 crunches in the AM and 500 crunches in the PM. BUT that’s just me. I worked my way up to it and between this, almost daily cardio and weight training, I’m in better shape than when I left my first review. I can see my abs! I love this! So much so that I’m having one sent to where I’ll be staying on vacation next week so I can keep up with my progress.

Impossible to assemble. Directions aren’t remotely helpful. The end piece looks like there’s supposed to be a bolt going into it, but I can’t figure out what goes there. The other bolts don’t line up and won’t screw in. The website has no customer support, so I guess this is garbage. I missed the return window so I’m stuck with it.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive about trying this product, but figured that it could not be that bad putting it together since most of the reviews were positive. Well, I could not have been more wrong. It was extremely frustrating trying to force the bars to connect properly, especially through the mesh. This design AND the instructions are flawed. :-( The bars would not fit properly through the fabric, thus, the holes would not align. I could not insert the Allen bolts throught the mesh end due to alignment issues. Neither of the holes on the mesh end would align and I could not tighten the Allen bolt in one of the holes for the connector bar/cross bar assembly (the bolt kept turning without tightening). Also, the fabric barely supported my head. My head was resting on the bar and not on the fabric because it was not firm enough to support my head. This device was not as comfortable to use as I imagined. Since I could not allow myself to be defeated by what should have been a simple 15 minute task and after taking a break for a while, I read the reviews again and K's review from 05MAY21 gave a tip to not pull the fabric in place until the the Assistant is fully assembled. This was not what the instructions illustrated. That tip helped to push the bars in, but the holes would still not align. After struggling to get the holes to align, I switched the bars thinking that maybe they should have been labeled 'right' and 'left'. The bars were easier to push in even further through the fabric, but the holes still did not align. I got a Philips screwdriver to align the holes and was finally able to insert and tighten the Allen bolts. The Allen bolt at the top for left handle still did not tighten. I was certain that there was a defect with that hole after switching the Allen bolts and the Allen bolts tightening in the right side, but not the left. By the way, the fabric was a little firmer, providing more support for my head (although still not as firm as I would have liked because my head was still touching the bar). K's review recommended using a towel for more support, which I placed the towel between my head and the bar and liked that much better than my head touching the bar. I am 5' 3/4" and the Assistant was very easy to use specifically when my shoulders were not resting on the fabric but just touching it, despite the instructions suggesting resting the shoulders on the fabric. I liked being able to place my hands to the side on the grip of the cross bar instead of the old-fashioned way behind my head or on my chest which would cause neck strain/pain. I would recommend because I did like the ease of performing crunches with the Assistant and not experiencing any neck strain/pain. However, this thing was extremely annoying to put together and there are clearly some quality assurance (QA) issues that need to be addressed. After assembling it, I would not look forward to disassembling it for travel.

Okay, Ladies and Gentlemen, I've been looking so crazy forward to writing this review and especially given how amazing this "Perfect" Ab toner has served me and held up so well through some serious traveling all over Europe and back over the past three months of my writing this review. I think we can all agree that the one thing so many Hotels lack is a decent Ab Toner, and I swear, I'm no fan of the traditional hands behind the head Sit-ups. So, Save for various fitness centers I've found, for so long I used that as a "get out of Abs Crunches free"card.... Then, one day, just for amusement, I took this Ab Toner apart at home, opened up my main suitcase and took a shot at seeing if I could actually pack this with my Stage clothes and other personal travel items, and then set it back up and how much time, space and effort all this would take and man was I instantly blown away!! Not just by how well it and compact it fit in my suitcase but ultimately, how crazy easy and fast it was to take apart and set back up with just the 4 Allen screws and a 4mm Allen wrench!! Then came the very first official setup at the Hilton Dublin, and again I was completely blown away by how fast and easy it was to setup and find the perfect space for it, and there were actually several! Then came the next Hotel, a super boutique Hotel in Spain, then another in Norway -Each proving to be a beautiful adventure setting up and picking perfect spaces within each Hotel room! Now, Many flights and over 65 Hotel rooms in, I can say that I have a solid system that works so great for how I travel and set up and break down in each Hotel room. The real payoff though is the simple beautiful luxury of having this right beside my bed (or close) and that I can now wake up, and jump straight into my Ab Toning routine! And, I can make that one of the last things I do after a show once I'm back in my Hotel room before I go to bed! And, I LOVE that they chose to use Allen Screws because I've set this up and took it apart so many times with absolutely ZERO sign of the screws stripping out. Speaking of the 5mm Allen Screws and wrench. I travel with those tucked in a Ziplock bag in a pocket of my Suitcase and when I've set it back up, there's a super handy wrench pocket right in the back of the Ab Toner! The one and only advice about that wrench pocket is to NOT carry the Ab Toner any distance with the wrench inside. Case-in-point.. As I was taking the Ab Toner from my Hotel room into the elevator, the wrench fell out and down the elevator shaft, at which point it took a Hotel Maintenance guy to make it down to the basement underneath the Elevator just to get the wrench back! -Haha!!! Seriously though, That is why I now carry two wrenches and why I keep re-iterating that the size of the screws and wrench is 5mm (No one on any of these past reviews seemed to know) I know there are a lot of Pics here but I really wanted you all to see how I pack this and what it looks and feels like in a few different Hotel rooms. And, just for the record, I would proudly become a Perfect Fitness Crunch Artist if they invited me to! "BUY AND PREPARE TO TESTIFY!" xXx! Brother Paul PS. Yep, I bring the Yoga matt along too!

No normal person likes to exercise lol (ok I'm just kidding. Don't write me hate mail) I'm 5' 9" and 170 lbs So I have some weight I could afford to work off. Situps are my enemy so my one hated zone on my body is my stomach. Situps typically hurt my neck and upper back (maybe I do them wrong....but this causes me to avoid them). I originally wanted an ab lounge but because they were $130-$170 this one caught my eye. I read one guys review who said this thing takes work and even though I'm an avid couch potato (minus the TV) I liked that he said it took work. I'm smart, I know that any exercise they say is easy isn't exercise. So his negative review actually made me buy it. It was easy to put together. There are literally 5 pieces (minus the bolts). The hardest part was getting that mesh back on and it wasn't really even hard. Probably took me all of twenty minutes to put together, if that. If you sit too far up on this it's even harder to use. The image on the box is of a woman who's head is barely above the black mesh backing. I laughed at myself when I sat up too far on it and couldn't even more forward to situp. But once I scooted down I was able to do some situps. (It's for crunches) Let me tell you, after TWO I could feel a burn. It's not like an ab lounge. I've used those and do like them, but sometimes question if they work. This one works. It does make it easier to do the crunch and my neck muscles aren't hurting. It does make it easier while still getting the work out. I'd recommend it. =)

Anyone who is starting out with abs, push ups, or shoulders this product is awesome ! Takes the strain off the back and neck for sit ups when working abs ! Easy to put together and so happy with this !!

Love the results would recommend it to anyone and very gentle on your neck and back 😀

Les + : confort de la nuque et du dos grâce au filet / soin apporté lors de l’emballage des éléments. Les - : problème de montage, long au début à cause de l’assemblage dans le filet : je ne suis pas parvenue à visser complètement un côté sur la base (je ne vois qu’une partie du trou) et cela risque probablement de se déboîter à tout moment. Il y a un autre modèle présenté sur la même page et c'est celui que j'attendais : la base est arrondie dans chaque angle. J'ai reçu le modèle de la 2ème photo. Donc, le produit est un peu cher sur ce côté-là. Donc, le produit n'est pas conforme à la photo. Je ne peux le renvoyer car je ne peux pas le démonter. Sans ce point négatif, j'aurais mis sans problème 5/5.
