do these look any good with colour changing bulb?

The light shade is lovely anyway haven’t used colour changing bulb so can’t say

Is this truly k9 crystal?

Not sure on crystal to be honest, this item is very very small though.

Is the central down wire made of plastic or metal as we don’t have an earth connection?

This is a chandelier and no electrical wiring etc is supplied. It just screws onto your existing light fittings.

how long does this light shade take to assemble

Not long, my 10 year old daughter did it so it wasn't hard to assemble. Hope this helps.
