Grandma's Pure and Natural Acne Bar 4 ounce

My son started getting pimples and acne! We tried every type of face cleaners, washes, face scrubs!! Paid tons for cleaners that did nothing for him. I found this years ago when he was about 8. I fought with pimples/acne ever since I had puberty! I just dealt with it because I too at that age tried everything and nothing worked for me either. My sons now going on age 25!! Still use this!! Their right it does get worse for about two weeks as it deeply cleans the deep down pours to the surface! But then!! The clear no pimple/acne face we’ve lived with absolutely surprises me. I’ll get maybe one pimple a year because I skip using the bar if I rush a shower and don’t wash my face with it. I recommend this bar!!! It’s definitely worth the try!!

This is an excellent soap that does clear and really clean one's skin. I use it in the morning and evening to wash my face; I lather and leave it on for about 90 seconds before rinsing. After three days of use I can see differences in my skin: my skin is brighter and smoother; and I've noticed a reduction in adult mild acne. At this age I find acne to be occasional but nonetheless uncomfortable. This soap has made a significant difference in only several days--it's incredible. I had been using Oxy-10 bar soap that really hadn't been doing a good job and is no longer available, hence the quest for a different soap. And this soap, in only three days, has made a visible difference. I think the key is when you're washing be sure to leave the soap on for a minute or two before rinsing. Let it do its work at cleaning your pores--it will. I shave with a safety razor and it can irritate my skin; so using a good cleansing soap with antibacterial properties is important in preventing minor infections. And cleaning pores on one's face is anything buy simple. This soap does a fantastic job of cleaning pores that are difficult to normally cleanse. These are large 4 oz. bars: I cut the bar in half, making it easier to manager in hand and less is wasted by way of residual water remaining on the bar after using it. The bars seem to last longer than traditional shower soap. After several days of use twice a day, there is no sign of the soap's size lessening. Judging from my experience with Grandma's Acne Bar, I can say that you will be amazed by the results you'll get from using this soap. Quite simply, it works and far better than all the many similar soaps I've used. Others reviews convinced me to try this soap; I am grateful to and 'thank' the other folks who took the time to write about a product that addresses an issue so intensely personal. I bought this because I was desperate! I'd had a baby in the past year and my skin was just out of control! I go for regular facials, I use expensive products, I never ever ever forget to take my make up off and my skin was just progressively getting worse :( so I thought maybe it was time to venture out. I ordered this based on the goood reviews. I started out using this 3 times a day and really noticed a difference almost overnight! Now this hasn't cleared out my pores (gotten rid of my black heads) but I feel like it's def helped with breakouts! I had lots of bumps all over my face before this but after the first night those small bumps went away. I did however develop several large painful bumps but I found that if I kept at it and left them alone (SSSOO hard for me!) then they went away on their own in 2 days! I've always had horrible skin but it looks the best it has looked in a long time. The only thing I've found comparible to this is my local spa's chemical peels but who can afford to do that every couple weeks? Certainly not me! I'll keep using this combined with my Image Total Retinol-A night creme and pray that these results aren't just a fluke. Some helpful advise: cut then bar into 2 pcs as soon as you get it and use one at a time. It will help the bar last longer. I keep one pc in each bathroom. The problem is that if this gets left wet it kind of melts away so the smaller the bar the less that can melt away.

I bought this after suffering from pregnancy hormone induced acne, thinking that it would be a natural alternative to some harsher treatments. It leaves my face feeling tight and dry, like I've used a regular bar of soap on it. After giving it a good 2-week try, I have seen no difference in the condition of my skin. I DO recommend Dr. Brandt's line of cleansers to anyone looking for something gentle and mostly natural to cleanse problem skin. It is definitely a more expensive alternative, but to me it's been worth the $$.

This summer, I was on vacation with my family in Austin, Texas, hipster capitol of the world. One morning, I was the last person to get ready in our single bathroom, so my family went for a walk down to the co-op (again, hipster capitol) grocery story down the street. When they returned, my mom threw this little bar of soap at me. She picked it up on a whim. Plenty of things made me want to throw the stuff out immediately: the fact that it has no acne fighting chemicals (I've been battling acne for a decade now. I know how to read ingredient lists by now. The main ingredients are lard and lye.), the fact that it's just a bar of soap, which I assumed would dry my skin out and make my acne worse, and the fact that it has the instructions on the back that warn that "Acne may appear to worsen at first because this special soap is completely cleaning the pores and drawing out the impurities." That last part got me the worst, as it seemed like one of those seaweed wraps or lemon/cayenne pepper cleansing things. I said to myself, "Hey, I'm on vacation. No one I'm worried about impressing is around if my acne gets worse. What's to lose?" Absolutely nothing, as it turned out. I never went through the aforementioned worsening period for my acne. I had long ago learned that switching acne products, even between Proactive and Clean & Clear or prescription topicals, inevitably has a few days of terrible breakouts. I had been using Clean & Clear Advantage at the time. My skin looked better than it had with the Clean & Clear in quite a while after just 24 hours. I've been using this for four months now and still love it. Most other acne products (including Proactive and Clean & Clear) tend to stop working as effectively after this long, so I'm quite impressed. I worried that maybe I was getting false benefits from the bar because of the climate. I was in Austin during a drought (which is still ongoing) and the humidity was around 20%. Compared to the humidity in my hometown in Florida, where getting the humidity below 80% is a cause for celebration, this was a huge worry for me. I noticed no difference upon getting back home, thankfully. I do recommend using a moisturizer with this (personally, I stick to some oil-free stuff).

I bought this for my 16 year old who recently started getting some acne flare-ups. He has very, sensitive skin so harsh products just cause more issues. After a week of use (just once a day when he takes a shower) his skin is clear again. I used it on my middle aged skin and was surprised to feel how moisturized and smooth it feels after washing. The smell isn't strong and it absolutely doesn't linger, but it's not a great smell either. But the payoff is definitely worth it. This will be a staple in our household for years to come!

I looked for the best reviewed acne stuff I could find on Amazon. This bar was it...& I have no idea how. I've had acne since I was 9 & I am 24 now (& a girl, I might add). I wouldn't say my acne was the worst, but it was quite embarrassing b/c I couldn't go a day without having any. My chin strap was the worst, as well as my forehead, and temple areas. To top it off, I always get one BIG pimple to make my confidence diminish. I wanted something that would make my acne less noticeable and eventually make it go away...since I am the only post-teen that I know that still has acne. Unfortunately, my luck must have gotten in the way, my acne has gotten far WORSE by using this. I've had this bar for over a month now. I wanted to wait until after a month to review it, to give it a fair shot. At first my acne got worse like the bar said, but then my acne went away quickly...for a day...then my acne got WAY, WAY worse. Keep in mind, I am on a clean diet- only vegetables, water, & no sugars. I am not stressed out (except for being so ugly from acne) & I have great hygiene. I just can't catch a frickin' break with this acne. If you want to get rid of acne...DO NOT USE THIS BAR...but if you want to be a pizza face, then this product is for you. The only thing that works best for me is using a face mask once a week, using facial wipes to clean my face 2-3 times a day, using stridex after the wipes, & then following up with spot treatment all over my face. I'd suggest that if you are like me and will be cursed with acne for the rest of your crappy life.

I'm a 35 year old female with moderate adult acne that is definitely hormonal. I mainly get whiteheads and blackheads with the occasional cystic breakout as well. I started using this soap about 2 months ago, after trying just about everything else on the market. I liked the idea of it being a more "natural" product, although I must admit I was skeptical - lard? Lye? Really? I cut the bar in half and use half in the shower and one by the sink. While I didn't see results overnight, after about 4 weeks of using this soap, my skin had definitely cleared considerably! I'm really impressed! Does my skin look like porcelain? No, and I definitely still break out a bit depending on that time of the month, but I'm very satisfied with the improvement and plan to continue using it.
