iSpring WGB21B+AH12MN16X2 2-Stage Whole House Water Filter System, Reduces Chlorine, Sediment Water Filtration System for Home with 3/4'' Braided Stainless Steel Hose Connectors and Ball Valve

We have horrible water where we live and after some research decided on the iSpring 2-stage filter system, which turned out to be a great choice for us. My wife and I are not plumbers and have very little plumbing experience but decided to do the install on our own. Our home is a newly built house and has Pex waterlines, which we had never worked with before. A little more research and we decided to use Shark-Bite connectors. Even though they are a little expensive, they looked the easiest to install for novice plumbers and matched the connectors that came with the filtration system. We took our time to make sure we had clean, even cuts on the Pex and used the Pex tool to make sure it was a smooth surface so we wouldn't have any leaks. Overall it took us about 4 hours to install the system. When it was installed, we were able to charge the system and were happy to have no leaks once it was pressurized. The happiness didn't last long as we quickly noticed the household water pressure dropped to basically zero. We thought maybe we installed something incorrectly, so we took out both filters and ran the system, and the pressure was normal. We then installed just the sediment filter, and the pressure was still normal. After installing the carbon filter, the pressure again dropped to basically zero. I did a little more research and saw online that carbon-block filters can cause a huge reduction in water pressure and that it might be better to use a granulated carbon filter instead, which I found really frustrating, and I wished I would have looked into that ahead of time. The next day I called iSpring customer service to tell them about my issue. The customer service agent was super nice and said sometimes the carbon filter can be blocked and that he would send out a new one and hopefully it would resolve the issue. I was sceptical but had nothing to lose at that point. We ran the system with only the sediment filter installed for a few days with no issues, and once the new carbon filter arrived as promised we installed it. We charged the system and had full water pressure throughout the house, and everything has been running 100% perfectly. The filters come sealed in plastic, and even though the filters had the same part number, the new one had a bigger/different label. We're not sure if the first filter was from a bad lot or if they redesigned something to make them work better. I'll be ordering some additional filters and will make sure they're the ones with the newer label. I'm giving the system 5 stars not only because I think it turned out to be a great product and easy to install but also because of the great customer service. They actually answer the phone and then sent a the new filter as soon as I described the issue.

I chose this filter system because my main concern with my water was chlorine and other pesticides when showering, washing hands, brushing teeth or washing cars. We have a separate under-sink 3-stage filter for drinking water that also removes heavy metals. Anyway, I was impressed by the 15 GPM rating on this item. Installation was a breeze with the included braided hoses. I used pex pipe and fittings that added another $75 in parts for my setup. After installation, I literally had no drop in water pressure! My incoming pressure usually hovers unregulated at just under 80 psi which is about the maximum you want for a residential application. Mostly it’s between 75-80 but on very rare occasions it may go up to 90 psi. According to the label on the filter canister it says it’s maximum operating pressure is 90 psi so I guess that saves me adding a regulator that would have limited me to 70 psi. I have to say I love the strong water flow that comes with 80 psi water. The largest GPM user I have is my water sprinkler, and after testing it there was no reduction in the distance it could spray. And immediately, we noticed no more smell from our faucet water. There was no aftertaste when rinsing after brushing. Also, filling the bathtub no longer smelled like we were at a pool. This item works just as it advertised. Couldn’t be happier for the price. Would recommend to everyone who doesn’t drink straight from the tap. If you plan on drinking from the tap, consider a 3-stage unit.

This is a review for the second system we initially installed at our home as we've been trouble-shooting a problem we encountered and ISpring's excellent customer service brought to us by Nick (our personal customer representative!!:)) We've been experiencing some continued problems with the seal leakage on our systems so I reached back out to Nick via email. Nick got back to me within a few hours and absolutely went above and beyond anything I expected in that he immediately, without any qualifying stipulations, sent us a new system to remedy the problem! The ISpring system has been a God-send for cleaning our water and it's more compact size was necessary for where it was installed so we really wanted to remedy the situation with the leakage. We felt that our installer might have over tightened the lids or something and let Nick know that from the beginning. Again, Nick's willingness to work with us - and for us - is so rare in the marketplace today that it was almost shocking! Needless to say, we really like the ISpring high quality products, but the customer service we've received has made us life-long customers of ISrping!

works great, easy to install. Watch the fittings on the braded hose, I had one that leaked and did not use it, just used pex to tap into it.

Do not hesitate. Let me say it again....do not hesitate to buy this product! This does exactly what it says it will do. Just check out my photo showing the new filter on the right, the old filter on the left and the canister it came out of at the top. I wish we had room for the non-compact version, but my pump house is small, and this fits perfectly. My set-up did arrive with a missing piece, but Nick & John at iSpring/123 Filter were very professional and helpful in resolving the issue. I've owned this since Aug 2023, and it's been running like a champ ever since! As a matter of fact, I've purchased two additional iSpring products (besides replacement filters) since this one. Everything I've bought with their name on it has been awesome. Tip for those that have never used the push fit (shark-bite) hoses.....they DO NOT work directly with PVC. You'll have to pick up the shark bite PVC to CTS adapters at your local hardware store.

We live out in County - or unincorporated area. While there is a water service, they get their water from a well. Tasted horrible!!! Sometimes would have sediment or coloring to it, and sometimes would be white like the water company just serviced the tanks or something. At any rate - the water didn't smell bad, but it tasted horrible!!! Installed this water filtration system, and it has worked like a charm. It was pretty easy to install, I took the hint from other reviewers and used a lot of piping Teflon tape around the connections. No leaks in 3 months so far. Within 2 days could taste the difference in the water. It's been 3 months now, and I love the thing. I can drink water from any tap in the house, I can brush my teeth, all that stuff. I have not noticed a difference in laundry or feel of the water - but the taste has improved drastically.

I woke up to a flooded garage the other day. The entire top housing of one of the canisters snapped off. I know exactly why, and it’s a design flaw. Despite buying lubricant for the o-rings, mine still wanted to leak, so i tightened it down a bit more than I wanted to. Bad idea! If you take a look at my photos, you’ll see that the o-rings are both mounted on the outside of the top rim. It’s slightly tapered, to allow the canister to seat inside the housing. The problem is that the more you tighten it, the more outward pressure is applied to the top housing. That taper just pushes harder and harder, weakening the molded plastic. Eventually you get a catastrophic failure like mine. This is a very dumb design. If you think of a typical screw on cap, it bottoms out and can’t be tightened anymore. Not so with this design… it just lets you tighten a bit more as the plastic flexes, only to fail eventually. That’s especially frustrating when you struggled to get a seal without tightening it as much, even after lubricant! This is a design that will eventually weaken more and more, even if you’re not tightening it as much as I had to… It’s always exerting outward pressure. I replaced this failed unit with a different design; Get one that has an o-ring on the top edge of the canister. My new one tightens and has an obvious stop rather than allowing you to go too far. No leaks either! My new one also has brass on the side fittings which seals much better than this one. Overall this product is sub par, despite the relatively good reviews. The design is a failure waiting to happen, the in and out ports/threads are prone to leaking, and the braided fittings are too small and hamper throughput. It’s clear this manufacturer is not looking out for the customer’s best interest here. There are much better ones to be had! —————————— Original 3 star review: I'm in the process of installing this system, but regret buying it with the included flex lines and valves. The flex lines may be labeled 3/4" but the hole on each end is only 15/32 of an in, or less than 1/2". That is a substantial restriction which would only allow for roughly 1/3 of the flow rate of an actual 3/4 inch pipe section. Obviously all fittings have reduced flows, but this one is too restrictive; We have 5 people in our home without guests and 3 full baths... These fittings are too small for a larger home despite the fact my entire home is plumbed with 3/4" lines. Buy the filter without the braided lines! They also don't seem to want to thread into the housing, and I wasn't about to force them! Disappointing! The rest of the filter system looks great though!
