My cats go crazy for this stuff!
All I have to say is "Who wants catnip?" and all 3 of my cats come racing in! They don't react to any other brand of 'nip the way they do with Majgo! You can smell the difference as soon as you open the bag! Super fragrant and VERY fresh!!! I have to remind myself not to put it out more than 2-3x/wk so they don't become bored with it (kind of like human drug users getting tolerant of their drugs). I recommend cutting just a small piece of the top to access the contents (avoiding the seal) so it keeps the rest fresh longer. I was going to divide the bag into 5 portions & vac-seal 4 because there's a LOT of catnip in this bag but the package has such a very good closure built in it's doing a grand job of keeping the leaves nice & fresh. I like to take their odds n ends...feathers, cloth balls etc. & put them in the catnip bag when it seems the cats are bored with them. I leave them in the package for a few weeks to a month before bringing them out again. Another cost-effective trick was instead of buying catnip toys I took some very small stuffed animals left from when my granddaughter was a baby, took out the stuffing & replaced it with Magjo catnip! Whoo-ee! My cats loved this & they all got a lot of (much-needed) exercise batting these little toys around! Several (pretend) cat fights started when Cammie - {short for 'camouflage', as she's a12 lb tortoise that's part Cheshire...she can disappear by blending in to the hardwood floors or the office chair, lol} - streaked up & stole one of the new catnip toys another cat - Felix [my giant 23lb tuxedo - who isn't fat! His front legs are 7" long(!) making him the LeBron James of the feline world!]. Of course, this meant 'immediate pursuit & attack & get my toy back! ' Though some dispute this, I believe catnip is good for cats. it gives them not just a 'high' but it can mellow out stressed kitties, which all cats experience now & then. I know our county shelter forbids catnip in all forms, lord knows why. When I visit I always sneak in a little toy filled with Magjo for one of my favorites, an orange tabby named Garfield (what else?) who's been there for over a year. :{ He purrs & jumps all over his new toy, which I know will disappear as soon as I leave. But he gets a much needed respite from his cage, being allowed to romp in the display room & getting to chase his toy, toss it in the air, etc. He gets to decompress for an hour or so before having to return to his cage. When one of my cats passes & if he's still there, he's coming home with me! I've had cats all my life (and I won't say how many decades that is) and think part of why my cats are so healthy & live so long is because they get catnip to keep them de-stressed and to keep their digestion in order. Our third cat, Angel (7-1/2 lbs) is a super-senior at 18 yrs old(!) & we had a feral kitten who adopted us & started out as 'Mouchka' but was later renamed 'The Moose' - because that tiny kitten turned into a giant 24lb cat [not obese but more 3-mos cougar-like in size], who lived to 26(!!!) - who loved his catnip. (He also liked jumping off the ledge under our second floor window onto unsuspecting people below, like the mailman!) He'dve adored Magjo catnip!

My cat loves this and it seems to be very fresh and it’s a full pound of catnip. A little pricey but best catnip I bought online!

1 Cat Loves It 1 Cat Hates it 1 Lb is a LOT of Catnip!
A couple of thoughts...first, I had no idea how much a pound of catnip is. It's a 10x16" bag stuffed full...a lot. And, if both cats liked it I'd be very happy with the amount. As it is, I'm going to freeze some of it to help retain as much freshness as possible. It arrived very fresh and healthy-looking and chopped very fine...I don't know about the bottom of this monster bag, but the top half is free of twigs, big stems and the like. There are half a dozen or so common nepeta varieties used as catnip. I believe this variety is called "the true catnip, and most cats like it. This particular one smells very minty and is the type I grow in my garden. Since my cat doesn't like the garden one, I would have known she wouldn't like this bag of the stuff....if only I'd asked. All of this aside, it's a heck of a lot of fresh minced catnip for an excellent price.

Amazing Product
Mag Jo Naturals is great stuff! Both my cats love it. Even give my grown blue nose pit bull a snail pinch for fireworks, hard thunderstorms, and most importantly nail trimming. Give a few minutes to kick in but if you know your dog, you will know. Smalle dogs give less first time. Organic and from Canada. Bag is lined and resealable. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Will get more
Based on how the cats react, I think they like it! Very strong smelling but enjoyable treat for the cats. Seems safe as the cats continue to roll around in it. Love to add it to toys to help with engagement.

You'll be smuggling it in
This foil lined paper envelope/bag arrived in a large cardboard box. When I brought the box in the house, my cats immediately attacked it. This made opening the box safely a little difficult because little paws kept snaking out trying to get at the box, and little toofies were chewing on the corners of the box. The smell is very strong, even I could smell it when I opened the box, despite the catnip bag being sealed. Beans (pictured) attacked the envelope aggressively and even clawed a hole in the paper and foil ad chewed it as I was attempting to open it. She is usually a very timid cat, but she went wild for this bag. When I opened the bag it was VERY STRONG smelling of catnip and all my cats tried to knock the bag out of my hands. We had to wrestle them into another room and shut them in until I finished putting it away (and then they got some). The leaf is a good manageable size with lots of flower heads/seed pods. There are sticks in the catnip, but most of them are readily crushed and aren't super pointy. The bag filled up my large metal canister all the way despite me compressing it tightly, and I still had more than half a bag of catnip left which I had to figure out since my cats were actively attacking it. We keep the stuff in a metal tin so they can't chew through, and we wound up putting the bag with the leftovers in the freezer to keep them out and now they mob me whenever I open the freezer. It's definitely a good product, but if you have cats, it might be a good idea to shut them in another room before you try to open the bag. Oh, and it's a LOT of product. For the price, you get an astounding amount of catnip--more than 4 cats can use in a year. This is ideal for someone who has a lot of cats to spoil, or someone who makes cat toys. Catnip is also good for headaches and insomnia as a tea made from it is a mild sedative, and also can soothe an upset tummy. It is a natural insect repellent, so there really are a million ways to use this stuff!

Amazing - best catnip so far!
Amazing product. Takes awhile to arrive - like more than a month I think - but worth it if you plan ahead.
