Car and mobile phone accessories rarely impress as they're usually made of cheap components and with very little love. My previous CD slot holder was creaky and a bit wonky but survived nearly 10 years before I accidentally decapitated it when clearing the car out after a tip run. It was a sad day, I mourned its loss and carefully placed the two halves into a box of tat I had up for grabs on my driveway. It was taken and off to a new home. Yayy. Onward with the replacement and the fear of having to buy more janky tat - but not so with this little chappy. Let's start with box... The box is very smart, sharp lines and edges and in a great dayglow orange. Unpacking it, you'd be fooled for thinking you've bought something a lot more expensive, components wrapped for protection and a some enclosed instructions and a warranty card. Sad to say but the unboxing experience (did I really say that?) was very pleasant and enjoyable. How to keep a 58 year old happy eh! The product itself feels very solid and has some nifty little features (the pop-out bottom stop latches when shut and releases with the clamp release button). The intention was to hold my S26 Ultra in a Freelander 2 for sat nav purposes and I'll be honest, it fits OK but may struggle with the phone in its case (Torro leather). I've actually decided to use an alternative spare mobile instead as the position of the holder on the dash facia is the winning reason for using a CD slot-style holder. This device feels very decent in the hand, the slot clamp is of decent girth and clampage, the whole item exudes decent value for money and commands its presence in my vehicle. It shall remain, be referenced to when others join me for motoring jaunts and hopefully avoid decapitation in any future escapades that I may happen to engage in.

Great phone holder, my car is a e class merc which has very little spots to put a phone holder without blocking vision. This is the first of a bunch of phone holders I’ve got that actually feels sturdy + is in a perfect spot.

Seems ok. Fits the cd slot in my car and once adjusted it appears to be quite stable. The phone is held well and the cut out at the bottom of the holder allows you to charge the phone whilst in the holder. The only negative is the way the holder is adjusted. The long threaded spindle and wing nut allow for the adjustment of the holder. The spindle and wing nut get in the way of my volume control so I need to turn the holder upside down. It works but isn't ideal.

Had to bin my last phone holder as it broke the air vent louvres. I was a bit sceptical of this device as I was unsure how secure it would be in the CD slot, and afraid it might damage something. Nothing to fear. It fits perfectly, doesn’t go deep enough to affect the CD workings, and seems very secure. You put the phone in, squeeze the sides together, and off you go. When you want to remove the phone, a button at the side releases the side clamps and you can lift the phone out. The plastic seems solid and high quality, well finished and well packaged. The only issue with my car is that there are a lot of buttons (media, phone, radio, plus a numeric keypad) immediately below the CD slot, and it obscures these to some extent, but I mounted it upside-down (vs the instructions) and it’s much better. Works the same, there’s just a wingnut visible, which I don’t mind at all. Very happy with my purchase, and reckon it’s excellent value.

On the whole reasonable value although, in my car, the gear knob is high up just under the stereo, so I have to hide away the cable so I don't catch it with my wrist as I change gear. The cable has to fit through a small hole, before plugging into the phone, again fiddly and unnecessary. Finally, as it fits into the CD player, it does wobble about and squeaks a bit.

Bought this for a 2014 focus with vertical air vents. I have tried several other phone holders which haven't held the phone properly. This one holds the phone securely and it's in a good position to see it clearly. I saw from another review that someone had found it worked better (for a focus) installed upside down, and have found this to be true. I can see the car display screen well and reach the buttons on the dash with the phone in place on the holder installed with the screw at the top.

Excellent product

Works well for me and holds my Pixel4A securely away from direct sunlight. Phone is easy to mount and easy to dismount as it has only one push button to release. The side grabs also do not pinch the volume buttons as most regular holders do. So it seems designed by careful people. The horizontal holding function is great when using maps.
