Craft Review. ALEX Toys Little Hands Paper Bag Puppets. I would give this 5 stars out of 5 for this age group. My review testers are ages 3 through 6. This craft kit is on Amazon for $7.50 currently and contains 5 paper bag puppets, making each puppet about $1.50 a piece. Each puppet (Lion, Elephant, Bird/Owl, Frog and Cow) come in individual plastic bag kits with everything needed for assembly: a colored paper bag, heavy glossy cardstock punch out accessories like eyes, legs, tails, etc., and also colorful stickers to complete the animal. The punch outs are easy and do not tear, even my 3 year old did all of them easily and quickly. Also included in the kit is one jumbo glue stick to be used for all the puppets. There will be 3/4 or more of the gluestick left for more crafting after all 5 puppets are assembled. This provided about 45 minutes of craft time start to finish with 3 kids and one adult. The directions are colorful and basic and easy for an adult to understand. Glue seems to be holding really well and I don't anticipate the parts falling off easily. A 6 and older child should be able to do this almost entirely independent. My 6 year old just needed some very basic help in understanding the directions. The 3 and 5 year old did just fine with step by step explanation. This held their attention until the very end, the only steps I did was putting everyone's legs as they were tired. However this took much longer with 3 kids (and one glue stick) and each had to wait in between each step while the other 2 glued. I think they enjoyed the combination of getting to punch out pieces, glue and use stickers to decorate. All of them said they "loved" this craft and are excited to use it in a puppet show. Pros: -Everything that you need is included in this kit, it takes zero prep time or forethought. It also takes zero artistic or crafty ability. -The children enjoyed the activity and it held their attention for almost the full 45 minutes (I would estimate 15-20 mins for this craft if you are just doing one puppet with one child, less time if your child is older than preschool). -It is a 'useful' craft in the sense that after the initial craft time, it doesn't just get hung up to be admired but can be used as a puppet for additional play time. (I will update once they have been played with for a while how durable they are). -The cardstock punch outs are durable enough that you could keep and use them as stencils to re-create a similar animal in the future if you are crafty and want to do this again in a more frugal way. We saved ours and I will update if we use that. This might be a fun craft idea for an older (7-10) child to trace and cut and decorate their own eyes, mouths, feathers, etc). -This would be a great "grandparent" craft or something to leave with a sitter as like I said you need no craft supplies on hand other than what is provided. -This gave us a great new craft idea of how to make paper bag puppets in the future. -These LOOK really vibrant and beautiful even when not assembled "perfectly." -This is an EXCELLENT "experience" gift for a child for birthday or holiday ideas that are inexpensive. It would be fun just to have these on hand for gifts and parties. Cons: -The only possible "con" I could even come up with this is just the price. And I say that very hesitantly. The price per craft is definitely high if you're looking for something to do every single day with your kids. However for the quality and thickness of the bag, the glue, and the overall value of the finished product I really think $1.50 per puppet is a great price. And for a mom like myself it was so much fun to relax and ENJOY craft time with all the kids without the hussle and bussle of preparing and trying to keep everyone from grabbing and thinking of ideas.

This kit is awesome. If you're like me and don't have a whole lot of time to buy art supplies, this kit is for you. It comes with everything you need and they puppets were really cute and were very durable. The glue stick that comes with it is extra chunky which is great for little hands. It also is purple so when it's put on paper, the kids can see where they're applying it. My girls are three and this had glue (which is always a hit with kids right?), colorful paper, and a ton of stickers for each animal puppet. It kept them busy for a while and they got to play with them afterwards.

Easy to use and assemble. Had it as a craft for a sleepover. The kids enjoyed it and had something to play with and take home after. Kids ages ranged from 2 to 10 years old and they were able to make it themselves following the picture directions. The two year old needed help gluing, but other than that was able to do the rest. We secured glued pieces with the extra stickers left over. The paper bag puppets were cute, vibrant, and the quality is great. Best part for me was the clean up! Took 2 minutes!

This is a great craft project for little ones. My son is 5yrs old and we added these to our craft box recently. We really have enjoyed not only making them but playing with them as well. We have made both the cow and the frog so far. There are 5 different bag puppets. Easy to do - pop out cut outs pieces, lunch bags and includes a large glue stick. So, you have everything you need included in the box. It also comes with picture type instructions which made it easy for my little guy to do his cow all by himself while I did the frog. Very cute and hours of fun! Highly recommend you adding this box set to you rotating kid crafts!

I was disappointed that the glue stick was not included in the box I received. There was plastic wrap around the box, so no one could have taken it out. Luckily I have a glue stick. It did not take the kids very long to put the puppets together, so if you are looking for something to occupy the kids for a good amount of time, you will need something in addition to this. But I think it's cute and I would buy it as a gift for a child ages 3-6. The quality is good--not flimsy.

I liked this product lots and my daughter had great fun making the puppets. However for the cost I think they should have extra bags and or sheets of stickers with eyes and mouths etc. So you can make more the original 4 or 5 puppets. And the extra bags can be less quality than the original ones that came in the box. Keep those the same and add a few more lighter weight bags or plain white bags so kids can make their own design. And a sheet of extra stickers with eyes mouths ears nose or spots for example. I liked this product the quality was great. It was fun. However she made them all in under 45 min. The end result were great though. The puppets are so cute and fun.

Very impressed with the quality and usability of this item. I buy alot of toddler craft kits and this one is perfect for ages 4-6. The fact that each puppet and its pieces are individually bagged with the exact pieces required to complete it makes the craft very enjoyable as it gives specific direction for success. No frustration that you run out of a certain shape or color. The instructions are easy for a toddler to follow also. No reading required, just the ability to match colors and shapes.

We bought this for our four year old's birthday, as she had made a few paper bag puppets on her own. Each of the puppet "sets" was in its own bag, so it was easy to do one at a time and not have parts for other puppets mixed up. The instructions were fairly easy, although we had some creative positioning of some pieces. Nice to have a wide glue stick included. Tons of stickers are included for each puppet, which our child used for other projects. One recommendation -- wait for the glue to dry before using the puppet -- we had some parts go flying when the puppet was played with before the glue was dry. Great way to spend some low-key time together, and the finished puppets are rather cute!

Excellent arts and crafts box. Neatly packaged and contains everything required. Would be very useful to take along on a trip as its self contained.

My son and I had a fun creating these puppets...very good quality. A Must buy for weekend or holidays activities.

Pure fun. My daughter loved this craft. She's 2.5y, needed some help, but end product is a vibrant color puppet. Glue is horrible though and expect to use some the provided stickers to keep the parts onto the bag.
