Works great. Very sturdy and holds a lot to drain. Def hand wash as per instruction. Pretty too! Handle length and basket size both optimum!

This is without a doubt the sturdiest, most well-made Asian strainer I have ever found. Incredible quality and so useful around the kitchen. The only thing is, I should have purchased the 6" one instead of the 7," which as a tad too large for my needs, but great nonetheless.

I like this spider, it's well-built and sturdy, great for using for deep-frying in a wok, to removing noodles, or ravioli or tortellini from boiling water. It's versatile.

Better quality than I even expected. The metal portions of this ladle are pretty stout and and not liable to bend or be easily tweaked. The wood handle is nicely-finished and, although I'm not certain what kind of wood it is, it may be bamboo. I was a bit worried that, for the price, I might get a splintery, cheap handle but this thing should last for years and the mesh size of the ladle portion is perfect for my use which is primarily to scoop cooked spaetzle out of hot boiling water. I'm glad I got the 7" model. I can quickly cover the entire surface area of a big (8+ qt.) pot of boiling water to remove floating noodles, etc., with one swoop.

I am a gourmet cook who loves cooking every night at home, as well. I have had several spiders in my day, but this one is the best, by far. It is so versatile and holds the pasta and drains it so nicely when removing it out of the pot. I can now get rid of the others, this one gets the gold star. Love the handle too. It’s cool to the touch and doesnt heat up so you cant get scalded with hot water.

I was a little skeptical buying this on-line as it could have been kind of flimsy by the look of the picture. The exact opposite is true. The beauties of the well fastened bamboo handle are many. First, it doesn't get got if you leave it in a sauce pan or wok. Metal ones do (I have a gas range and I have burned myself on metal utensils). Second, the handle makes the spider heaver on the basket end, so it is well balanced. It's easy to clean, and should last a very long time provided you don't smack your significant other on the head with it... at least not too hard :-)

ITS VERY WELL BUILT AND WORTH THE MONEY.

I bought this to remove items safely, in bulk, from my turkey fryer. Fries, wings, mozzarella sticks, etc. I had concerns about the bamboo surviving a dip into blazing hot oil but it’s truly worked exceptionally well. Bamboo handles shows no worse for wear and the loose mesh allows rapid drainage of oil when removing items from the fryer. Highly recommended for anyone with a large fryer!

This is a great strainer. A bit too big for my use. Should have bought a 5”
