does it stand 400 degrees farenheit?

It depends. There is a high temp Lab Metal and the standard Lab Metal. The high temp variety is advertised as being good to 1000 degrees F when fully cured. The basic Lab Metal also indicates a similar heat range. The high temp variety comes with a light blue can label. Just remember, when the aluminum looks dry, its because more solvent is needed to put the aluminum back into solution. Great as a paste or as a spray, its all about proper thinning. What color is it when it cures ?

Light grey, similar to pewter. Can be polished to a high silver shine if the polishing doesn't affect adjacent surfaces.

I couldn't tell you if it could be for sure. I have coated it with Duracoat no problem .

Will this work to fill gaps in metal heating ducts?

Kind of an expensive fix. Yes it will work but for the temperatures involved in your typical heating system, it's kind of overkill. USC All- Metal might be a more economical choice, though the adhesive aluminum tape is probably best for this fix.
