ARK: Survival Evolved (Nintendo Switch)

So I wanted to write a review for this game if you play it on the Switch 2. I’ve played for about 10 hours now and have never crashed. I know that’s not nearly as much time as you have to play in order to progress in the game but from the reviews I read before I bought the game I expected it to crash a lot. Difference is the original Switch struggles with this game, Switch 2 runs it with ease. However there are a few odd things that occur when playing on the Switch 2. Lighting does some weird things sometimes. If you go in settings and finagle the graphics you can mostly fix it. The problem is mostly with Light Bloom. Secondly, you randomly get stopped by invisible objects sometimes. I returned to this same spot and there wasn’t an invisible object stopping me so I’m guessing there is some sort of spawning lag that’s occurring. That’s pretty much it as far as any issues that I’ve found so far. I’ve played this game mostly on PC. I wanted it on the switch because I wanted the versatility and also wanted to eliminate the distraction of mods and just enjoy playing the game as it was intended to be played. Overall I recommend the game for Switch 2 but not Switch 1. I’ve really enjoyed playing it, maybe even more than playing it on PC.

love this game & love that my friend & I can play together from our own homes. We started playing last year, but with 2020 the way it was....glad we could continue playing even if miles apart!

Plays well in system. Enjoyable

I love playing this game on the Switch, but it seems as if they ported it over and that was all folks. It crashes CONSTANTLY reverting waaay back to last save to the point you manually save, then THAT crashes it. Sigh. But the steam version, I guess.

It’s challenging and fun to play

My son loves this game. It arrived on time for Christmas.

Grandson 10 loves this. Otherwise I have no idea what it is. Way out of my league.

I love Ark on Switch in hand held mode is it a little blurry in big built up areas but it runs fine with hardly any lag, you can not expect ace graphic in hand held however the TV mode this is a great port, I have played this on PC and PS4 and I get much more enjoyment playing this on Switch.
