Perfect shaver for daily shaves or longer
Best shaver I've ever used. Hands down. I have been the happy owner of a series 7 Braun for about 2 years, and in my personal experience of using it every 2-4 days it was an excellent shaver. I have the worst mix of sensitive neck skin and thick stubble, so I opted for foil over rotary when I bought it back then. Apart from the odd day of slight razer burn it served me well given the rest I could give my neck between shaves. I have since been needing to shave daily for a change in work circumstance and I was finding the series 7 too harsh on short stubble with my mix of hair type and skin sensitivity, so I purchased a Phillips Norelco series 9 to try, as it's supposedly better with thick hair, and is touted as being good for sensitive skin (compared to other rotaries, I presume now...). *It is not good for either*. I used it for one day, instant razer burn, neck rash and discomfort all day, and after 6 hours it looked like I had 24 hours worth of stubble. It was awful. All supposedly from Phillips's best shaver to date. Safe to say I won't ever buy one from them. I returned the Phillips and went for the series 9 Braun instead. Every review I have read comparing the Braun 7 & 9 series say that 'the 9 is only slightly better, you won't see any difference, series 9 is overkill for daily shaving etc'. From my experience that is all a heap of tosh. The differences are incredible. I have yet to experience any discomfort from both wet or dry shaving every morning. It glides over your skin, you have no sense of abrasiveness that the thinner-headed 7 series had. It's comfy to hold, charge time is great, the cleaning station is excellent and it dries the shaver ready for the next day unlike the 7 series cleaning station that lets it drip and air dry. The differences in the foils must be the key reason I've had such a better experience. The 7 series is thinner, comprising of 2 foils and one cutting element. The 9 series has 2 foils, 2 cutting elements and a sensitivity strip that helps keep your skin flatter between the gaps in the head, and the shaver is spread further out as a result. It's only a matter of about 6mm wider, but my does it make a difference. For the sake of another £45 or so you have to take the 9 over the 7 all day long. It's remarkable.

Best shave ever
I thought it looked pretty expensive and wouldn't normally spend this amount on something like this, but I was disappointed by my cheaper shaver from another leading brand, because it wasn't much good and then packed in halfway through a shave, so I decided to try another brand and spend a bit more. I was going to go for a cheaper, lower Braun series shaver , but reading the reviews the Series 9 seemed to be getting the most positive feedback so I went for that one. It's brilliant and I'm really pleased I got it. It's fast, smooth, quiet, and gives a great shave with very little vibration. It is really easy to clean. I haven't used the optional cleaning pod thing yet - I will at some point but it seems to be cleaning great with the odd rinse here and there, and the little brush supplied. Really impressed and my shaving time is one third of what it was with my previous shaver. I tend to only shave very 3 days or so, so usually have a fair bit of growth, but it still only takes a few minutes to do a full shave. It doesn't tend to miss anything. It doesn't tend to pull at hairs either, unless dragged too fast across the face, but even then it doesn't do it much. A really great shaver, and although a bit expensive I think it's worth the price.

Great shaver, not perfect though
This is my first experience with an electric shaver and I'm really pleased overall. I've used it for about a month now and it gives something very close to a wet shave, it's seriously impressive and leaves you with that smooth "just shaved" effect on your skin rather than a bumpy stubble. I have thick asian hair so I was even more impressed that it was able to handle it. It performs well even on a couple of days of growth. It doesn't tug on your hair or cut your skin or anything like that. It only takes around 5 minutes for me to shave in the morning now and using this shaver significantly reduces all the faff around the whole thing - no need to lather up, no need to worry about irritation or cutting yourself, just run the shaver across your face for a couple of minutes, tidy up the hard to reach areas, and you're done. After you've finished you can drop the shaver straight into the charging station and press the "clean" button and it takes care of everything for you. There's no real need to clean the shaver yourself. There are some drawbacks that made me knock off a star: - It sucks at shaving the hair in some difficult parts of the face, e.g. parts of the neck and around the neckline, and near/below the sideburns. Usually the shaver gets you 95% of the way there, and you need to use the little trimmer on the other side to tidy up the bits it couldn't get. It really isn't that bad but you will need to be aware that you might not be able to roll with just the shaver on its own, you need the trimmer attached to it too. - The attached trimmer is really flimsy, it feels like a cheap plastic after thought from Braun and does not feel very powerful. Granted it does the job at cleaning up some of the difficult to reach areas but I would have liked something a bit more robust/powerful - The shaver is loud, and the cleaning function on the stand is even louder. Just be aware of this if you share your house with others who might get annoyed at the noise! Overall I'd still recommend this shaver. I use it everyday and haven't wet shaved in a month. It gives you that close shave feel without any fuss.

Best electric on the market?
When I first took delivery sent me the wrong model as the display had a series of bars instead of the digital number on the box. I spoke to the representative was extremely happy to send out a replacement for me. After reading some reviews I found out that the display shows the battery capacity as small bars then as the battery gets weaker it changes to display the last nine minute of battery life in numerics. Therefore I cancelled the replacement. It's a pity that he did not tell me that in a manual. I collect razors and have over 25 ranging from vintage Fatboys to beryllium copper razors by ATT. I was looking for an electric razor to use for hand luggage (airlines don't like razorblades in your laptop case) and have tried quite a few electrics including rotaries from Phillips. The series 9 (or any other electric) cannot compete against a baby soft shave of a wet razor (used correctly) but this can give you something pretty close. The technique to electric shaving is to go over your face (pulling the skin tight in front of the cutting edge) to get a pretty good shave then leave your face for a bit (I go and clean my teeth etc) then go back run over it for a second time. This is because your skin slightly swells up when you are shaving and the small gap in-between allows it to settle down and the hairs to become more prominent. You will find doing this will give you a much better finish. The series 9 gives a great shave with minimal irritation (much better than a rotary). Its quick, light, easy to use and feels like a quality item to your hand. I've just ordered a usb charger for it from amazon for £7 just incase I'm away on business with it and have forgot to charge it up before hand, although with a battery that lasts a month I'm sure I wont need to use it. I paid £189 complete with the cleaning station which is a lot less than a good safety razor and brush, so all in all I'm very impressed.

Thick growth never has an electric shaver worked for me...
...but now it does! This is an outstanding product. I have shaved since i was 12 dark hair "cursed" with stubble that makes your eyes water. I tried electric shavers periodically in last 20 or so years and it took ages to get even a 5 o clock shadow. Wet shaving irritates my skin so i tend to take advantage of the fact younger folk are allowed stubble so i would shave once a week. That worked but frankly like to be clean shaven being the dinosaur I am. This was last chance test - and yes a potential expensive one at that. But wow cuts through 3/4 days growth with not too much effort. Being of a certain vintage it seems to miss the odd grey hair though lol :) what a great shave dry is best - i bought to wet shave but the added hassle sometimes put me off. every days shaves not one rash not one cut and not one issue. I love this never before had a shave like this. Is it as good as a close wet shave? no its better - ok doesnt get as deep all the time but ive had a few turkish shaves and everytime it looked like sweeney todd had been at me. yup close but when you look like freddy from nightmare on elm street is it really worth it? This is sensational. I dont say that often and write very few reviews. And i dont work for Braun either. Brilliant in everyway. If you are fair haired or ginger you prob dont need it. If you are a dark haired hairy mammoth like me, buy it!

Best razor I have ever had.
I still can't believe how good a shave I get from this silver series 9 shaver. I had been thinking about buying one for about 2 years but the price has put me off. When Amazon did a special offer saving me £300 I thought it's now or never. Definitely money well spent. I get a much closer shave than my old rotary shaver. At first it looked a bit bulky but actually it isn't, it's comfortable to hold, it does glide across my skin and the result is a very smooth shave. The trimmer is just as impressive. To my amazement I have started to ENJOY having a shave (what a sad life). The cleaning station I would not have bought but it came as part of the deal but, I am really glad it did. I remove the foil and brush off the hairs put the foil back on and place the razor into the charge and clean station, it does the rest. My only criticism is the price of the oil and the price of the replacement cleaning fluid cartridges. They are in my opinion expensive although the cleaning fluid and the oil can be bought online at a cheeper price. All in I think this was a fantastic purchase and I definitely recommend this product.

Use it every other say: face and head
Good quality machine. Expensive but feels good and does the job. MY only gripe is the trimmer on the back of the machine; when shaving I sometimes accidentally unlatch it and need to change hand position to put it back in place, little annoying. I shave wet. No skin irritation, which I sometimes used to get when shaving wet with a blade. All in all, can’t comment on the longevity, I only wish I would have got it earlier. Saves time and feels good. Minor thing, the black plastic on the top of the charge/clean station is gloss. If you want it looking mint, you will have to wipe it often: cleaning mode splashes and leaves minor marks after the cycle is done, and if you shave wet you bound to shed some drops yourself too. Other than that the clean station is a must have. It does a great job not only charging but cleaning and disinfecting your blades. If you can afford it, go for it.

Disappointed in Braun
I have used Braun shavers for many years and have always found them to be of the utmost quality - at the top end of the game. I have just bought the flagship model to replace my older series 7. This new ‘9’ version does still shave well and retains several of the benefits I have come to enjoy with Braun products - smooth, effective shave and of course cleanable. However, I have to say that the deterioration in build quality is very noticeable. It seems much less substantial; it is lighter, less metallic and has a more cheap and ‘plastic’ feel to it. The beard trimmer is a huge disappointment compared to my old model. It feels very flimsy and certainly doesn’t trim anywhere near as well as the previous model. When I hold this shaver and use it, I don’t have that same confident feeling that I am holding something well made and built to last. I’m very glad I got this shaver on so called special offer as I would have been very frustrated (to be polite) if I had paid the notional asking price. I now need to decide which brand I try next as I’m wondering if all companies have adopted this ‘cut costs’ strategy. Either way, sadly, even though I’m not the heavy handed type, I’m not sure it will be long before I need to make that decision!

Not worth it
It’s not worth it at all. I invested in it hoping it’ll be better for my sensitive skin but is not. The shave is not perfect and leaves a few hair behind and also the skin is braised

La maquinilla perfecta
Simplemente perfecta.
