An unexpected love quadrangle with a dash of unrequited love as two classmates, a boy and a girl, begin to fall for each other when each of their best friends have already fallen for them. Love is already hard enough, but it becomes an unnavigable maze for unassuming high school student Taichi Ichinose and his shy classmate Futaba Kuze when they begin to fall for each other after their same-sex best friends have already fallen for them. For some reason, Taichi Ichinose just can’t stand Futaba Kuze. But at the start of his third year in high school, he finds himself in the same homeroom as her, along with his childhood friend Toma Mita, a star athlete. But one day, Futaba opens up to Taichi and admits she has a crush on Toma. She then asks for his help in confessing to him! There’s just one problem—Toma seems to already have a secret crush on someone else. Review: The story its beauty and worth reading! - This a totally BEAUTIFUL manga! Not only by the art style but also by the storyline from it Review: Cute Romance - Kaito always excelled at writing great characters that make great expressions. I am glad to see that is back for another manga that takes place in school. This is a fantastic setting and by breaking free of the school club chains that bound them from their previous series he can focus extensively on the best part of his writing, his believable characters, implied romances, and beautiful displays of friendship. Blue Flag volume 1 introduces us to the three or four main characters and how they interact with each other. The displays of friendship both the rekindled ones and the new ones are beautiful. I loved them and I loved how they deepened and broadened to the point that they became something intimate, personal, and perhaps romantic. It will be curious to see if we get love triangles or more as Toma’s crush seems to be hinted to be Taichi, and Taichi expressed attracting towards Futaba while Futaba is seeking Taichi’s help to get with Toma’s, and then we have the fourth character, who, perhaps may have a thing for Futaba? If that is the case, then getting this LGBT manga set in the boys demographic of Shueisha’s leanings with the typical features found in romance manga aimed towards girls is unique, progressive, and intriguing. Ultimately it feels different from the romance manga that we have with one male lead characters and three to seven girls that all love him and only him. Overall, I highly suggest this manga. The larger size is pretty good and the image quality seems better than its contemporaries. I do believe that is because the pages on the only platform from which this manga was serialized on allowed pages to be higher resolution than what regular Shonen Jump series that appear in the magazine in print appear. The manga could have had extras. The only extra we received was some cute omake and a few comments between chapters, but it was slim especially compared to other volume 1’s of series.

Cute Romance

Nice
This first volume is good. I love, love, love that ending. Something about it really tugs at the heartstrings and you can completely feel/see Mita's panic in the art. I also really liked the scene where Toma comes back from getting drinks and his head is down, but you can tell he's pretty angry/upset. I just really like the art in this manga. It's kind of poignant. I'm really looking forward to seeing where these characters end up.

Crushing On Him
Blue Flag surprised me in the best possible way. ✂️ When Taichi Ichinose starts his third year in high school he finds himself in the same homeroom class as Futaba Kuze. For some reason Taichi really doesn't like Futaba. But, after a super awkward scene in a book store Taichi reluctantly agrees to help Futaba finally tell her crush her true feelings. But there's a problem, her crush is Toma, the school's super star athlete and he already has a crush on...someone else! Who is that someone else? ✂️ The character's emotions were palpable from the page. Toma, Taichi and Futaba's characters portrayed a nuanced mix of teenage angst paired with sadness and uncertainty. I immediately wanted to read the next in the series

Keeps you guessing til the end of volume
The thing that caught my attention originally was the dynamic between Taichi and Futaba wasn't what I expected. I more or less thought it would be like cat and mouse. But no, its actually really cute and likeable. I had an episode reading til the end, confused and conflicted on who Toma liked. Boi, my head hurts from all the signs he gave off and omgosh it really had me going and doubting myself...;-;

On the edge of my seat
Very interesting story, got me into the series and I’ve come to like it as a whole. I know a lot of people don’t like the final ending but I think I like It and it’s more realistic the way it ended to me to be honest.

First Time Reading Manga
I'd never read manga prior to buying Blue Flag. If you're looking to get into the genre, definitely consider buying this book! It's an easy read and the art is incredible. It took me about a month before I could purchase this book because it's nearly always out of stock. Snag a copy if you see it in stock while you can!

Perfect , buy it now
Great paced story with actual character depth. You get to grow attached to the characters and relate to them each in your own way. I’ve never been a huge fan of romance mangas or slice of life in general but I absolutely loved this series, and the first volume is no exception.

I've heard so much about this manga, I finally decided to get a copy for myself. I'm really glad I did. This manga is so refreshing and after every chapter you just want to keep on reading more and more. I've already ordered volume 2 and 3 cause its just so good!. The volume is slightly taller and larger than a standard manga. 10/10 recomend
