Made by the Gods for easy installation by idiots like me. Works Great! Less Filling! Burns Calories!
The Corsair 600 watt CX600M (modular) power supply is so powerful and well-designed that it gave me reliable power, freedom from fear, and it made my grey hairs turn dark again. Okay, maybe not the last thing, but really, this ATX power supply is a good buy and really takes the worry out of having an underperforming power supply in your PC case. It's easy to install/swap, and when it's running it's quieter than a librarian walking on sound deadening foam (I didn't actually test that). Some background: my home-built PC case came with a 500-watt power supply and worked great until I added a third hard drive. After that, I started having reliability problems with my data storage drive, a typical rotating platter hard drive. It took me a while to figure out that I wasn't getting bad hard drives, but instead had a problem with a marginal power supply (I've got other problems too, but they aren't computer-related). Indeed, the Corsair website has a power-supply finder/calculator, and I figured out that my system needed 600-watts to be reliable. The calculator takes into account how many drives you have, as well as the fan on your video card, so if you're not sure how big of a power supply unit you need, check out the calculator. That calculator won't solve your personal life problems, but it's awful handy in picking out the right power supply unit. Swapping this new Corsair in couldn't have been any easier. Well, actually, yeah, if someone else had done it for free, it would have been easier, but okay, this was pretty easy, even for a clumsy guy like me. If you're nervous about swapping, relax and let me walk you through it. I'll leave off the part involving the tarantula and the goat. Step 1) unplug your power cord from the back of the old power unit. 2) Unplug the power connectors from your drives, motherboard, video card fan, and case fan. 3) Get the right Phillips head screwdriver and unscrew the old power supply and don't lose the screws 4) Pull the old power supply out. Don't drop it on the motherboard as you do that. 5) Take the new included SATA power cables and plug those in to your drives. There are two cable, with three connectors each, so you can power up to 6 SATA devices. 6) Plug in your video card power cable. 7) Now place your new Corsair power supply into the case and using the screws from 3) above, secure it. 8) Plug in the SATA cables and video card cables; and 9) Plug in the motherboard power connector and case fan connector. That's it. Took me 20 minutes and I had never done it before. Your mileage may vary, batteries not included, and not applicable in California. Oh yeah, 10) plug the cord back in and flip the switch on the power supply to | . Sorry about that; should have remembered that step. Oh, I suggest using your smartphone or a digital camera to take a photo of the motherboard before you start. Reason for that: if you happen to accidentally pull out a cable like the power switch connector to the motherboard or the HDD indicator lamp connector, it'll be easier to figure out where it goes. Just a little hint, not that I may have pulled out the power switch connector to the motherboard or anything like that. I'm too smart to have done that. Seriously though, what's included in the box are the power supply (the motherboard and case fan connectors are hardwired in); a power cord; two SATA power cables, and peripheral cables (e.g. for a video card). If you only have three SATA device and they're not too far apart, you can get by by ony plugging in one SATA power cable but you may find it easier to use both cables if the devices are further apart. When I started my computer up, I was shocked (no wait, bad choice of words for a power supply review) I was very happily surprised when my computer was super, super quiet. It was so quiet, I thought I had a bad power supply. But then my screen came on and man, I felt like a God, because it all worked. "I am the Man," I said to myself. Yeah, that's a mixed metaphor, but only the great writers get to use them properly. So, if you've never swapped a power supply before and you want the opportunity to feel like a God (or a Goddess, if that's your thing), this Corsair CX series is just the thing for you. If you have swapped a power supply before, then why did you read this far into the review? I already told you it's great! Just go ahead and buy it already!

Nicely powers a computer that is a little bit better than most peoples.
I was a little worried about getting this power supply, as my computer is a little bit better than most peoples. I was pleasantly surprised that this works fairly well at powering my computer. My cable management skills are also a lot better than most so I was able to take full advantage of the modularity. I have only been working with computers for less than a year but fortunately I learn much quicker than most people so setting it up was not that difficult. The only other thing I was worried about is if it could power my graphics card. Through hard work and dedication (and I have been told my good looks and charm are well above average, but do not wish to brag about these things) I was able to obtain a high end graphics card for my PC. I know the average person will likely not have to worry about powering this type of card, so it shouldn't be an issue. The power supply is very quiet, which is nice, and does not overdraw power. I tend to date very attractive women (models) so I have a very large sound system in my pad to provide entertainment to them, which draws a lot of power on the same circuit; not once has it tripped a circuit breaker (i live in a very exclusive apt. buildin, so having a brand new electrical system might help with this)

A solid power supply. Corsair delivers.
So worth it. At $62 this is a great buy. Installed easy, booted first try. What more do you want out of a power supply. I got it to replace my aging power supply with a loud fan. This is basically silent. After adding some new good quality case fans, my PC is basically silent now. I love it. Being modular is pretty awesome if you don't have much. But between hard drives, I still use optical drives, and my video card, I had to plug all the stuff in anyway. So to me modular didn't really prove to be an advantage. All in all a solid power supply with a great brand behind. Corsair is the way to go.

Excellent 140MM deep Power Supply. Cables a bit long for a ITX build, but would be perfect for mid-tower ATX's. Silent Fan.
So far so good. My only gripe is that the cable length is a bit long for a mITX case, but that's not necessarily the fault of Corsair given this PSU is designed for a wide array of ATX form factor cases. I love that the PSU is only 140MM in depth which made room for the GTX 980 in the Node 304 case. I highly recommend this power supply if doing a ITX build; however, it would be great if Corsair had a lineup just for ITX cases with the 140MM depth. The fan is silent, and so far the PSU seems to be running great. I've never had a DOA PSU, but have heard of people having issues out of the box. That being said, if anything comes up, I'll check back in and let you know, but if I don't make any amendments to this review, you can safely assume this PSU is reliable. PS, this is able to power a high end GPU with no problems. I don't know about SLI or Crossfire, but a single GTX 980 under full load does just fine.

Solid performance and quiet operation make this a great buy.
Easy connections, clean power characteristics, good brand track record... That's what I was looking for. This CX series supply has been in constant use for several weeks now, with absolutely no hiccups. The modular components are good quality, long enough and have good connectors. This is my second supply from Corsair. I haven't had a single issue with it, even over 3 years of nearly constant use on a server. I used Corsair's supply recommendation for my new build. You would think they would push their high-end products, but they where quite honest and upfront about what I really needed for the system I spec'd. As far as I'm concerned, this Corsair product is the right solution for my build.

Reliable, scalable, and great performance!
Over the years as a computer builder there have been only a couple of power supplies I have trusted with any system. Antec and Corsair. What I found in using the Corsair CX series (modular versions) is that they just work and are rugged. Normally I don't go lower than a 600 watt unit even for base model computers. The CX600M (and the entire Corsair line of PSU's) delivers that scalability, reliability, and performance the other power supplies don't. They are built to last for several years (more than OEM companies PSUs for sure), answer all my needs or the needs of those people's computers I install these in. While these are not 100% modular (the main MOBO and CPU power cables are not removable) the cable management keeps every case nice and clean. Another area is the wrap they place around the wires to prevent chaffing (which at one time was only found on high end PSUs), and the length of the cables. Sometimes on those cheaper budget PSU's you'll find shorter cable spans while routing them, and then you'll be too short to connect anything. As I continue on my 17th year as a computer builder, Corsair CXnnnM series are my go to PSUs these days. Not only do I recommend this version for most builds, I recommend the entire Corsair PSU catalog for your builds. They are worth every penny.

Corsair
Let me start out by saying this: Amazon well done about shipping! . Anyways, This would be my second time that I went through Corsair and again shopped for one of their finest PSU's on the market. This time I tried out the Modular type. and its Fantastic! The fact that you can choose what cables you want is amazing. Corsair outstanding job about this invention. 600 watts is enough for me. I build PC's for enjoyment and entertainment, not to mention experience as a future technician. So I had to start somewhere. I do look forward to doing business with Corsair again in the near future for my future computer builds. Update - 3/21/14 - I purchased another one of these and swapped out the non modular version of the cx 600 corsair psu with this modular one and it saved me so much space and improved airflow. Now there is nothing wrong with the non modular version of the psu I swapped out, but I was not thinking at the time because the only cables that were not in use was the pci power connectors and another line of molex. The case I had was a okay case for wire routing so I tucked them away but it was semi blocking the front intake fan. So I replaced it with modular and it was a dream come true. Corsair thanks again for this fine product!

Dead after one day!
Purchased this for a mid-level PC: i5 processor, low end graphics card, two hard drives, one DVD-RW drive. My OEM 300 watt PSU was working fine but wanted to upgrade to accommodate the two hard drives. A 450W would have been enough, but I decided to go with a 600W so that there would be no chance of power issues even with USB drives attached. Installation was easy. Worked great for two hours. Next day I turned on PC and nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada. Dead. How lucky I am that it failed within 24 hours and not a month later. Looking at the reviews it appears this PSU has a 10%+ failure rate. That's too high for me to consider this brand again. Put my 300 watter back in and I am up and running again. I will be looking at another brand. Thank you Amazon for your return policy!

Works great; love fully modular options!
New build using a Thermaltake Chaser A31 case with this psu; and its worked great. I've had it put together and running for about a month now. No problems. While I was shopping for parts, I had read a couple reviews about people having them explode or getting faulty units - but that can happen with almost ANY unit you buy; and in extremely few numbers! This company is very well-known, and has great products; I DOUBT that, even if you were (VERY) unlucky enough to get a faulty unit, they would do nothing to please you despite the inconvenience of exchanging. Not being required to use or have all the cables provided in a modular unit saves a lot of space, and is so much easier to organize inside the case - compared to a non-modular psu. Very quiet, good fit, little clutter, modular interface. Worth the price.

Most value for money and quality PSU
My Rig: A10-7850K CPU OC:4.2 Ghz iGPU OC: 1050Ghz NB:1800 MHz(Default) Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4 Rev 3.0 Gskill C10 2400Mhz RAM (XMP Profile2) Hyper 212X CPU Cooler Seagate Pro 240 GB SSD OS HDD HGST Travelstar 1TB 7200RPM Secondary HDD Corsair CX600M PSU Corsair Carbide 200R Cabinet I am getting a really solid OC performance out of this system. BF4 with Mantle plays at High 40s to Low 50s mostly (Goes to High 50s and higher in indoor areas). Have tried half an hr of AMD Overdrive stability test as well as Prime 95, with the CPU Temp rarely reaching 50C. Ideally hovers at 47-C-48C in 10% CPU loads. Idle temperature is in mid 30s. Mobo temp is rock solid at 41C. Planning to buy 1 more fan and R7 250 1GDR5 Graphics card to get the most out of this beast. The cabinet build is very sturdy, spacious and is mostly metal. Air flow is quite good. Only cons are no dust filter for bottom, side and top fans. PSU is Semi Modular and 80+ Bronze certified. Only issue was with Hyper 212X Cooler. The installation was quite difficult because the holes in the MoBo, through which the risers were installed, were not in sync with the X-Plate. Due to this even after adjusting the screw positions for two of the screws (Press and push forward), one of the screws is angularly screwed in, making the setup a little bit shaky. But I still get more than decent enough cooling out of it and plan to replace the thermal paste with something of better quality to enhance the cooling further, as I plan to overclock my iGPU to 1100Mhz. Delivered before time.Very securely wrapped and the package was in perfect condition. Its been nearly 2 weeks that I am using the system and no issues yet. The delivery person was very polite and came on time after calling up and confirming first. Please keep up the great work Amazon!!
