Majohn C1 Fouintain Pen Bent Nib, Fine to Broad Size, Eyedropper and Converter Filling, Transparent Acrylic Mini Pocket Fude Pen

I own two of these pens, and they are both wonderful, which says a lot because I am a picky fountain pen aficionado. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I do have my fair share of pens. The quality control on these pens is clearly high because both pens have equally smooth nibs and the build is solid on both. I appreciate the purple resin part of the pen. It feels substantial in my hand, as well as looks unique and artsy. Regarding how the ink flows in between uses, I’ve never had a hard start and I’ve had my first one for the past two weeks. I liked that one so much that I bought this second one. Just an FYI, I’m using Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-iro in one pen and Herbin Perle Noire in the other—both are doing great in this pen. Regarding the bent-nib aspect of this pen, I love it because of the huge ink capacity (if the eyedropper method is used). As you probably already know, bent nib pens are just physically going to lay down more ink and use up ink faster, so the large capacity and high visibility of the ink level makes this pen very useable for long periods of time between ink fillings of the pen. Just one tip: if using the eye dropper method, try not to get the ink on the threads of the pen body because then the ink is visible on those threads—not a deal breaker but if you are into the aesthetic of pens, then this will matter to you. Overall, I think for the price, any person who buys this pen is getting a great value because it is a quality pen with a quality nib. The nib makes writing Chinese characters a joy, from thin lines to thick lines. It’s of course great for writing English as well, but not all pens that write great in English in this thickness necessarily write well in Chinese, so this one is a winner in both categories. It is a solid, beautiful, and utilitarian workhorse of a pen with style. Oh I almost forgot—the packaging was very nice as well, with a nice gift box.

I have had my eye on this pen for awhile, so I was quite excited to give it a try. And it certainly does not disappoint! The overall design is highly reminiscent of the Newton Pens shinobi model, a $275 custom pen. Granted, unlike the shinobi, the Moonman C1 presently only comes in one color (transparent), the color of the grip section cannot be specifically selected, and any nib customizations would have to be done separately. But at less than one tenth the price, this seems like a more than fair trade-off. More importantly, the pen exudes the impression of quality from the very beginning. Unlike most Chinese fountain pens, this one actually comes very nicely packaged in a sturdy gift box. The pen inside looks polished and feels sturdy and substantial. It comes with a converter, which feels more solid than the typical stock converter and even contains an agitator bead. However, I intend to use this as an eyedropper to take advantage of the full visual effect and volume of the clear barrel, and indeed it not only comes with a glass eyedropper but is already fitted with an o-ring inside the barrel to prevent any leakage of ink. As usual, the Moonman nib is tasteful and perfectly serviceable as is. But even better is the fact that it is a #6 size, which opens up a whole world of possibilities for interesting nib swaps. Coupled with the huge ink capacity, this pen may be an excellent candidate for swapping in a flex nib. Please see the photos for the results. Pros: - solid build - #6 nib - HUGE ink capacity (5 mL) - o-ring inspires confidence, with zero leakage of ink while screwing in the section on a full fill Cons: - no clip - cannot be posted - no way to choose the pattern or color of the acrylic grip section Other comments: - has a gentle facet on one edge to prevent rolling, unlike the Moonman M2 - visually quite large, even more so than how it feels in hand - flat ends may or may not appeal to some users, but can be used to stand the pen up on either end - flex nib usage requires careful priming to get things started with the right amount of ink, so this particular mod is perhaps not suitable for the beginner Overall, this pen has a very nicely thought out design and will surely join my M2 in my regular rotation. The way that it stores and shows off ink is just amazing :)

Took a chance on this pen despite not really seeing it talked about much in fountain pen circles. I'll be honest, I was taken in by the appearance of the pen and bought it mostly for the aesthetics. I was pleasantly surprised when the pen turned out to be functionally elegant as well. I've used this pen with Pilot Namiki and Asa-Gao inks and it handled them quite well. Now for the breakdown - PROS - Aesthetically pleasing - Good value for money - Insane ink capacity when filling the barrel - No noticeable leaks - Standard nib unit size means many options to upgrade the nib unit - Flat section of barrel keeps pen from rolling since there is no clip CONS - You cannot choose the section pattern. Whatever color you get is completely random and out of your control. - Pen is not postable as the cap and the barrel are the same size - The o-ring that seals the pen when using the barrel as the ink reservoir is very tiny and I expect it to wear pretty quickly. This is pretty typical, you can only make an o-ring on a pen so thick, but since the pen doesn't include any spare o-rings I expect to eventually have to stop using the barrel as the reservoir should it ever give out, or try to find a replacement on my own. PRO/CONs depending on preferences - No clip. This isn't a dealbreaker for everyone, but its worth mentioning. - This boi thicc. For real, this pen is bulky. It's not heavy, considering how much ink it holds, due to the material it is made of. But it is rather large. This is a pro for the ink capacity but a con for ease of carry. Its up to you to determine which is more important to you. The section is comfortably sized, its just the barrel and cap that are quite large - The nib that came on the pen was branded "Wing S", which as I understand it is another brand by the same manufacturer. Not really a problem, just a bit odd because the spare nib that was included was branded as Moonman. Not sure what's going on there.

I have a large number of fountain pens from inexpensive to costly. This little guy is impressive for a couple of reasons. First, it holds a huge amount of ink if you opt to use it is an eye drop fill pen. No leaking from the barrel, the gasket with the pen does its job admirably. Second, the ink flow is impressive for a fine pen. I did tweak the nib a little as I prefer a heavy, wet bead of ink. Still I think many people would be more than satisfied with the way this pen writes out of the box. I will say that you need a high-quality paper for this pen - normal paper will likely have excessive feathering and bleed through. Third, the pen is comfortable to hold, though the cap does not post, so if that matters to you I would advise against this pen. A few other notes that may be helpful - I ordered a fine nib, but it does not write as finely as many Asian pens I currently own. It is more comparable to the fine nib of a German pen. As I said earlier, this pen is fairly wet right out of the gates; I am using Faber Castell Carbon Black Ink in this pen, and it is a bit wetter an ink than others out there. A dryer ink, such as Diamine, would probably solve the problem for those who like a dryer pen. Overall, this pen is an excellent buy, and I highly recommend it to either fountain pen enthusiasts or to those who not wanting to spend a ton of money on a fountain pen, especially if they have never used one before.

I have a few pens, this one got here yesterday. First thing I did was ink it. I opted for eyedropper fill since I like to watch the ink move around. let it sit while I put the ink away and opened my notebook. It INSTANTLY wrote, and it did so so smoothly that I was honestly mad. Not at the pen, mad at myself. How could I have dismissed such a pen. It felt like writing with butter. So smooth and easy, ink flowed really good, and it just felt perfect in my hands. The weight was spot on for me. No leaks and the best part… it was cheap! In my opinion this writes better than my $90+ pens and it was $30. I’m getting another couple of them.

My last Majohn i bought before the great Moonman-Kaweco war.. A moonman m2 . It is an okay pen. Pretty dang plasticky.. This one kind of blows that one out of the water in material and finishing. The plastic is more like actual acrylic - heavier weight. The threads are much better. Oh my god.. it even has an o ring where the section and barrel meet. Clearly it was made for eyedropper-ing. Which is actually why i bought it... I had a spare size 6 stub nib lying around. Two actually, which i recently excised from old Jinhao pens (i just couldn't do the convertors anymore) and the plan was to install them into the two Mahjohn C1s I had bought for this purpose. But after writing with the stock nib, I decided I liked the stock fine nib so much, it literally changed my plans .. In fact, it's my favorite fine steel nib right now. So I gave up on the whole operation and gave the other C1 to my wife. I'm still in the market for a pen with a large ink capacity, good flow and a #6 nib I hate just enough to swap out for a stub nib. As for using this pen as an eyedropper, I haven't done so.. The fine nib goes through a converter load every month or two as infrequently as i write with this pen and i would have the same ink in it for several years at that rate! I will say this pen, Twisbi pens and Platinum Preppy's all take months to dry out.. This is one of the better pens to own if you're the sort that forgets you left ink in it for over a year. The bump up in quality from the early Moonman pens to the Majohn rebrand is insane to me.

It's a good fountain pen. However, I recieved the wrong nib. Ordered extra fine, got medium nib instead. In my excitement of receiving my first eye dropper fountain pen, I didn't check to see if it was the right nib and filled it. I was please at how smoothly it writes then realized, "hmmmm...it's a bit bolder than my other extra fine fountain pens..." and checked the nib. Ugh!!!.... I do not like going through the hassle of returning an item. Which I have on many occasions. Whomever packaged it was probably not paying much attention or this was mixed in the wrong pile and happened to be the one they grabbed. Any who, it's a good pen but 2 stars off for wrong nib.

I'm not an expert on fountain pens by any means, but I have owned a few. I got a new job and wanted to celebrate by getting a new pen so I bought this one. It's a pretty pen, with high quality, very clear acrylic. All my previous pens have used cartridges and I enjoy seeing the ink slosh around in the reservoir. It was a little messy to load, but that was probably due to my inexperience. The reservoir is big so I won't have to load it often. The pen has, so far, never leaked on me. The colored part of the acrylic is pretty, but it is a little girly - pink and purple swirls with a tiny bit of sparkle - I'm a woman, but I can understand why a man might not like it as much. The flat side of the pen is barely visible, but quite useful since it keeps the pen from rolling off my desk. It is a pretty big pen (I'm not sure why the title says mini pocket pen, it's not), which is nice for the size of the reservoir, but means it doesn't fit in the pen slot in my bag. It also doesn't have a clip on it. This isn't a problem for me since I leave it on my desk, but it's something to keep in mind depending on how you plan to use it - it may have to float free in your bag or pocket. The grip is narrower and is a good size for my hand, but the ledge where the two halves of the pen come together is very distinct. It doesn't bother me much for short periods, but I think if I wrote with it for a long time it would be uncomfortable. The cap doesn't post, which is slightly inconvenient, but not hugely since I use the pen at my desk and can lay the lid to the side without fear of losing it. The result of it not posting is a very sleek exterior where the cylinder of the pen doesn't change size along its length. Still, I feel like they could have added a small ledge at the bottom that was smaller than the cylinder that the lid could attach to. Not quite as pretty, but more useful. Every time I take the lid off the pen writes immediately, but if I leave the lid off for even a minute the ink has to start flowing again so if you're not used to fountain pens, get used to sticking the lid back on between writing. And here we come to the one big problem I have with the pen, it lays down a lot of ink, like, a lot. I usually write with a super fine point pen and I knew this line would be bigger. That's not a deal breaker for me. The problem is that I can't write on anything double-sided because there's significant bleed-through. I find myself thinking through what I'm going to write so I can do it quickly without leaving ink blotches where I stopped to think what the next letter was. This does not result in a relaxing writing experience. Maybe it's my ink, although it's a highly rated brand, maybe I got a faulty nib, maybe it's just the nature of a fountain pen and this one does it more than most. For whatever reason, the pen has become more of a novelty than my everyday pen as I was hoping.

This pen is a very nice writer, considering that the nib is steel. You can choose between a converter and an eye dropper fill. Dropper fill holds a LOT!!! I’ve heard these dropper fill pens “burp” ink out of their nibs (as the reservoir heats up from your hand) but I’ve never had that happen. So far, so good!

A Caneta é realmente muito bonita e bem feita o acrílico é transparente igual a vidro sem nenhuma imperfeição, comprei a caneta com uma pena média e o acabamento transparente a caneta escreveu muito bem assim que lavada e colocada a tinta sem nenhuma necessidade de ajustes. (Uma dica sempre que comprar uma caneta tinteiro nova lave ela com agua e detergente neutro assim você retira qualquer detrito ou resquício do processo de produção da caneta que poderia interromper o fluxo da tinta até a pena). Caso você goste de canetas demonstrador essa é para você, ela acompanha um conversor internacional e um gota gotas para encher o corpo de tinta cabem nela aproximadamente 5ml de tinta, que dependendo do seu ritmo de escrita durará muito tempo, a caneta veio em uma caixa muito resistente e bonita com todos os acessórios gostei bastante do produto e indico a compra a quem estiver interessado, sobre a seção dela (onde se segura pra escrever) não é possível escolher a cor podendo vir misturada com varias cores exemplo roxo, vermelho, azul e rosa mais este detalhe não me incômoda inclusive é uma parte legal de se adquirir ela afinal fica a surpresa no ar de qual cor será que sua caneta virá.

It works extremely well, the filler cartage that it came with was faulty and hence the 4 star. Otherwise I'd rate this pen the 5 stars it deserves.

La pluma escribe de forma excelente, la tinta fluye de inmediato aunque no la usé dos o tres días, tengo algunas plumas y esta escribe tan bien como una Lamy de $7,000.00. Lo que noté y no es un fallo pero si deben tomar en cuenta que aunque el punto es fino las lineas que traza son más delgadas que las de otras plumas, no iría por una punta extrafina con esta marca. En la foto se pueden apreciar las lineas de izquierda a derecha con una Cross, una Lamy cara, una lamy safari, la majohn y al último una Parker.
