Use It Anywhere Without Cord Annoyance
Works great on shrink tubing when making wire connectors. Heat is great and right now. The fact that it part of their 20v systems makes batteries interchangeable. It is a lot better than power cords or an open flame. Some may not like that it put out little fan blow.

Great heat gun. Terrible tool to make friends.
It took 6 hours, but eventually I cooked a 37lb turkey with this thing. I then chucked the turkey off an overpass to an unsuspecting motorist in a convertible and yelled happy thanksgiving. He wasn’t very thankful, however. Probably because it’s March and it messed up his car. Oh well. It was a Miata; so it’s not like things were going great for him to begin with.

Easy to grab and get to work
So nice to not have a cord to heat shrink wires. Works good I wish I bought one sooner.

Expensive but worth it if you need higher heat and better build quality
I bought a DeWalt 20V heat gun because my older Uaoaii 201V heat gun was not hot enough and struggled with thick, lined tubing. The Dewalt was $130 so when I saw a Seekone gun for $35 on checkout I decided to try it too. Seekone is rated higher at 572/1022 degrees compared to the Dewalt’s 532/990 degrees. I tested this gun, the Seekone, my old Uaoaii, and my Milwaukee 1200W corded model together for comparison. I ran 3 tests: - Heat wood from 3” away for 30 seconds and measure wood temp with a ThermPro TP450 IR thermometer from 6” away. I ran a fan on the wood in between tests to return the wood to ambient 70 degrees. - Shrink different sizes of shrink tubing for a subjective test. - Run the heat gun 1” from a temperature probe on a Fluke 116 meter until the temperature stopped climbing. I let the probe return to 70 degrees between tests. Dewalt: $130, no case or battery, 2 tips (no ¾” restrictor), wood rose to 185 degrees, tubing shrunk noticeably faster (especially double-walled with adhesive), probe heat reached 721 degrees in 1:12 minutes. Seekone: $35, no case or battery, 3 tips, wood rose to 129 degrees, tubing shrunk slowly (similar to Uaoaii gun), probe heat reached 414 degrees in 2:00 minutes. Uaoaii: around $135 with niceish case, 2-21V batteries, and 4 tips, wood rose to 147 degrees, tubing shrunk slowly, probe heat reached 523 degrees in 1:28 minutes. Milwaukee 1200W corded model: 30 years old so no idea of price, no tips or box, did not test wood due to fire hazard, probe maxed out my meter at 820 degrees in 1:27 minutes. The probe temp was still rising but was slowing. Since I was looking for a battery gun hotter than the Uaoaii, I am keeping this gun and returning the Seekone. The Dewalt is expensive but is noticeably hotter and shrinks large and double-sided, adhesive-lined tubing better. The trigger safety was a little annoying at first but I found that I can activate it one-handed while holding my work in the other, so I guess I like it better! It has no ¾” restrictor attachment like the other guns so I will use the one off of the Uaoaii and hope that it does not significantly reduce its lifespan! The build, attachment build, and manual is better than the clones of course. The only negatives with it are the lack of a case and 3/4" attachment, and why could they have not charged $160 and stuck a premium battery in? All battery powered heat guns have less heat, limited runtime, and less air flow than corded models of course, but this is the best I have tried. I did notice that you get better performance with all guns with a fresh battery (ding) and with premium batteries. I compared a 8AH (tested at 3AH) clone battery with a Dewalt 20V Max 5AH (tested at 4.5AH) on the probe test and the results were better with the premium battery due to it being able to provide more output current. This gun measured 721 degrees in 1:12 minutes for the Max 5AH and 658 degrees in 1:35 minutes for the clone battery. Both were fully charged.

Very handy addition to 20V XR tool set
I was looking for a simple heat gun to use for simple heat shrink use. I already own a collection of 20V XR DeWalt batteries so this heat gun was a no brainer addition. Compared to my corded heat gun, this tool does not deliver the high heat (it is battery operated after all) output but it works just fine for its intended purpose. This tool is very effective for heat shrink purposes. I have also tried it with solder wire joint splice and there is sufficient heat to melt the solder and heat shrink the sleeve around it. This tool also makes it very easy to use a heat gun anywhere outside, or any remote location where access to AC power is problematic. You do need to keep in mind that since this is battery powered, your run time will be limited.

Convenient
Very convenient if you use a lot of shrink tape

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm not quite sure what the use case would be beyond shrink wrapping. It is portable, so there's that. But it seems like it is lacking all power to preserve battery life. It was unable to sufficiently melt PLA plastic, which should melt between ~300-400°F (~150-200°C), at a very close distance.

always satisfied with dewalt
works well. bought this to warm up the carbuerator on my generator when it is too cold to start; should do the job.

Works great, used for heat shrink core ID'S within PLC. Brought 18v batteries separately and still produces required heat.

The blower is so slow and heat come soooo late. I am really dissapointed in Dewalt, what were they thinking when designing this?!?? For this application, i will still stick back to wired heat gun instead. This one will head head straight to the "Museum"

Love the quality of dewalt tools. A great addition to a carpenters bag - use this to thaw locks frozen on construction trailer, heat up cold hands and heat up vinyl to stretch for custom bench seats!
