The Girls Next Door Season 1 is a wonderful television show. I fully enjoyed watching it on tv but after I purchased it on DVD it is now a favorite part of my DVD collection. This is a great show, one that should not be judged on the cover. It shows that these girls are not superficial gold-diggers but that they are kind and caring young women. The Girls Next Door helps define a generation where people are more liberal and free to be who are they are. We are no longer a closed-eye society but one that likes and appreciates new ways of thinking, just like these girls. When else would it be acceptable for a man aged eighty-two to have three girlfriends, all under the age of 35? The answer is, only at the Playboy Mansion. This DVD collection is one that is great, colorful, and entertaining. It is light and fun-loving and can bring a smile to a seemingly boring day. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a little escape from reality.Not only would I recommend Season 1, but look onward to the newest seasons, because they only get better. Purchasing this series on DVD only makes it better because you can watch it over and over, whenever you like. The DVD also contains bonus information and things that you would not be able to see. The DVD episodes are also un-censored, unlike watching it on television. Therefore, I would not recommend to show the DVD version of this show to young children, but perhaps refer them to the television version instead.

I love this series! I really love the vivid and colorful video work. I love the fact that the young lady stars are so different and funny and unique. I love Hugh's interaction with them. I love the fact that we get to see the P Mansion, and feel like we're living with them inside. The women are incredibly intelligent, well spoken, and just a little bit crazy. This makes for a very interesting and unique reality show. Watching this show reminds me of how when we men were young boys, and we used to try to sneak a watch on HBO, when our parents were asleep. But, with this DVD set, we can watch at our leisure, and rewind all the cute, funny and sexy parts, and re-watch over and over again. It's really quite exciting! I love how its' uncensored, so we get to see sexy female bodies. I love how every episode has a commentary (censored or uncensored) thought I can't imagine watching this with my kids.) How many times have we men not fantasized about being on the set of a centerfold spread shoot? Well, you get to experience it here. It's really quite exciting watching a beautiful girl, show up for a shoot, all covered up. And then watching the clothes come off, as she shows off her body for the snapping pictures of the cameraman. Stop reading right here, and pick this one up. You'll love it! Good show if all you care about is seeing hot chicks. Otherwise don't bother if you want anything else out of it. Very boring and low intelligence levels.

This show is definitely my guilty little pleasure. I am not a reality T.V. fan, however when this show ran I caught a few episodes of it and I was hooked! I just adore Holly, Bridget and Kendra. They each have their own charisma that makes them all lovable for different reasons. Lots of eye candy and well played dumb blonde hilarity. Its fascinating to watch as they jet all around the country and world, passing off lingere as clothes and having a blast being young, blonde, rich and HEF's girls. Its also very interesting to see all of the day to day things that let's you know these people are just 100% normal people, who just happened upon a very unique existence. The genuine affection between Hef and Holly is actually quite adorable. At first its like "oh my gosh these chicks cannot be seriously interested in this guy", but it becomes quickly clear that Holly and Bridget both care about him very much. I bought seasons 1-5 here on Amazon. All the discs were in good shape but 3 of the cases were broken, Which was not a big deal to me since I have extra cases laying around. I refuse to own Season 6 because Holly, Bridget and Kendra aren't really a part of it (except for their leaving episodes). On top of that I genuinely could not stand Crystal or the Twins, all three of them had just awful, catty, snotty personalities. This show was over for me at Season 5, the girls in Season 6 lacked all the charisma the other 3 had, after 5 seasons of Holly, Bridget and Kendra it was their show and the other 3 were pretty much doomed not to fit from the start.

Fun to watch.

This was one of my favorite television series of all time. (With the original girls, the twins and Crystal were horrible!) I like to pop in the DVDs when I feel like ignoring the demands of real life and escaping to a silly, frivolous lifestyle, at least on the surface. Rumor has it there's a much darker side to the story, but that is not what I'm watching it for. I enjoy the personalities of the girls, but I wish they included a little more of the staff. My favorite is Bryant the butler! It's interesting to see what goes into maintaining the lifestyle, putting on the parties, etc. All in all, these DVDs are a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon!

The show is great fun. Hot women and an aging Hef walking around in his silk pajamas and smoking jacket. The 3 girls have a good chemistry. The steady Holly Hef's main girlfriend, the sweet emotional Bridgette and the Ghetto Kendra Of course you get to see the nude parts you can't see on E One last thing the fact that Hef has this whole staff that cooks 24hours a day and puts together all the sets for the numerous themed parties. Holly says gee I'd like a water slide and presto the crew puts a water slide together for the day If there is such a thing as reincarnation Hef must have been St Francis or someone equally holy in his past life

S1 of the Girls Next Door introduces us to the Hefner trio of gal pals: Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt & Kendra Wilkinson (the best of the Hefner girlfriends). I love this show. i was thrilled to find it on Amazon, and I hope to find the rest of the series, as well. The best part of this dvd set is the three ladies' commentaries (an added feature) which makes watching the show, all the more fun.

When I saw this programme advertised on E! I didn't want to watch it because I thought it would be naked girls running around all the time. It has changed my opinion on Hugh Hefner because I wouldn't want to let any of these girls go either (if I was a man). The Three girls Holly, Bridget and Kendra are so nice and the progamme was really watchable.

Wow, I haven’t watched this season in forever! Forgot how young the girls were when they started and it’s amazing to see where they are now. Kendra still is my fav!
