Great TV
Great TV at a great price. I don't agree with other reviewers that the ambilight is much more than a fun gimmick, but it is fun. The picture quality is great, the connection options are great, the size is good, and it's a relatively light TV for the size as well. There is a slight lag time with remote inputs and the remote feels cheap. There also doesn't appear to be a ton of extra app channels to install, which is lame. Some of the settings menus feel non-intuitive, but it just takes some getting used to.

You really need to get this tv for best cinematic experience .
There's nothing not to like about this smart TV. Had smart tv before, took ages for it to load up like an old computer. This TV is on, when you turn it on. The ambilight is a whole different way of watching tv. Makes the picture pop at you you really feel you're in a cinema. The smart function is great with preloaded apps . I would certainly recommend this tv for anyone who wants a cinematic experience at home. The sound is just perfect. First time l dont need a sound bar. 5* .

Great value 4K TV that requires a few tweaks for best performance.
Bought to replace a Panasonic 50 inch plasma, picture detail on the Philips is better as it is 4K compared to the 720p resolution of my old set. Contrast on the old set is much better but it was plasma which is understandable. The ambilight is a really cool feature which I personally love and wouldn’t want to be without now.I had to fiddle around with the picture settings, turning sharpness and ultra resolution down and off for standard definition, blue ray and Xbox one. It now looks great so look into expert picture settings for these adjustments.Overall I’m really pleased, but initial setup including sound syncing being out on a Virgin TiVo (change TiVo sound setting to Dolby Digital to PCM) was a pain at first.Stick with it, it’s worth it.8/10 and great value, I hope this helps.Picture settings I use.Picture style Movie or Game for Xbox.Colour 50Contrast 34-36Sharpness 0-5 depending on definition.Brightness 50Expert mode settings.Colour enhancement Off.Colour temperature Warm.Contrast mode Off.Dynamic contrast Off.Video contrast 88Gamma 0Ultra resolution Off.Noise reduction Off.MPEG artefact reduction Off.Motion styles Off.I hope this helps.***** UPDATE ***** the backlight has stopped working after 2 years usage so no picture, sound only.TV completely useless and just outside the warranty.I doubt I would buy another Phillips TV after this experience.

Good affordable TV, Not so perfect experience
Amazing TV, and stunning picture, ambilight is definitely a nifty feature however not noticeable when actually watching. Only gripe is that this TV's response time/ refresh rate is awful, watching any action scene in a movie is like watching a blur and you occasionally see a part of the image. Would not recommend for gaming at all, as even moving the camera would make your eyes hurt.

Great panel, terrible television
As a panel this is fantastic. But unfortunately the TV OS is terrible. It's so under powered it becomes frustrating.Using on board "Smart" features means you can't even change simple things. Like the volume. THE SOUND VOLUME will not go up or down when you need it to. In the time it took the type that sentence I hit the down volume 15 times, the LED on the TV flashed. It still hasn't done it.If you don't need/want smart the picture is amazing. The ambilight is good too.....but it maxes the memory of the OS....so you can't even change sources. Literally I can't change sources right now. I cannot CHANGE SOURCES.I've turned it off. I've waited. I CAN'T CHANGE SOURCES.So frustrating.Sound is bang average. Remote isn't great. Finding volume (although it doesn't work) in the dark isn't easy. Not raised or ridged.Picture is great though.Shame.

Great value, picture and quality
Well pleased, great price - cheaper than my previous Philips. Easy to set up, great picture especially through Apple TV 4K.Standard sound not bad but much better through my amp.Delivery firm great and bang on when they said they would arrive.

Perfect
Works well, good image quality, good smart functions. Haven't had an issues with sound but I'm using a soundbar anyway. TV isn't slow on smart functions. Just set it up right and make sure you have decent internet.
User
Great picture, terrible otherwise.
The image quality is excellent. However, the user interface on the smart TV features is agonisingly slow. The TV guide is frustrating for the same reason. This isn't just a minor gripe. A lot of the time it's completely unresponsive until restarted.I'd recommend you buy anything else.
